I really need to get a job -_-
I thought I had one today. Insurance is a bitch.

Just been offered a job!
Give me a budget and I'll run you up a build.
I hope you get that Job man. I know the feeling of getting a call for an Interview, such a great feeling.
I'm planning on trying to make a new Rig that is pretty much "Next Gen" Proof as in I won't have to upgrade (much) for the next couple of years. I've had my build since about 2012. It's 2014 now and I don't know if I can run The Witcher 3 or Batman Arkham Knight at the Settings I want to run them in. Heck trying to run Tomb Raider (2013) at Ultimate Settings in 1080p gets me about an Average of 15 frames per second (sad I know). My normal Resolution is 1440x900 and that gets me about Average of 20 fps on Ultimate settings.
I want to try to bump it up to 60 in 1080 on pretty much all of my games.
With that I plan on spending at least maybe $120 per week? at least try to get something around there. Lets say $120 for about 7 weeks which gives me about $840. How does that sound? If need be we can add another week which will round out around $960. What would you give me around there?
Please consider the Case I already have.
Man that case is FUGLY but whatever. Lets say $1000 to make it easier. Let me work my magic.
@bbkkristian I get back from class in 4 hours if you wanna do some ST runs, I also have no class tomorrow.
@clyde46: works for me. I like the case so to each his own.
What mounting points does it have?
Do you mean the hole placements?
It's supposed to fit Mid ATX and ATX motherboards. There's a picture of what the inside looks like on the Site. Unless you really need me to take a picture.
I like how I discovered the silver arrow on Link to the Past by complete accident two minutes after the game told me I would need them. Anyway, I beat LttP today.

To be frank here man. Its not a very good case. You can get so much more for surprisingly little money. Let me make your build up. You don't need screens, OS or KB/M right?

no Mouse or Keyboard. I don't need a Screen now, but I would prefer to get a better one in the future. I will need a new OS.

What OS are you using at the moment?

Win 7
That makes it easier. AMD or Intel and AMD or Nvidia?
I wanna go Nvidia this time to take advantage of the PhysX stuff I've been seeing.
I don't know about the CPUs though, I've been eyeballing AMD, but I don't know if Intel is any better or not.

Here is an AMD video build. Let me see what I can do with Nvidia.

lol that makes two of us. :P
Three, actually. ^_^
I'm the fourth, but I probably have to start focusing on the next semester of university soon anyway so I may not get one.
Just swap the 280X for this GTX 760.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130934
Build comes out at 1019$ instead of 1054$.
Neat, I may actually considering getting that build. Thanks, but may I ask why the case I have isn't that great?

Its cheap. It won't have the airflow that you need for your new parts. Plus I think it looks tacky. :P

Oh so it's more of a personal preference? Or are you actually worried about the cooling? The thing actually has like 2 fans on the case itself.
I also found out you didn't add Ram to the build. How am I gonna run a computer without Ram?
So taking my case to account tell me what you think of this build.

I knew I forgot something :P. I don't believe the cooling is up to par and it will not have cable routing options. I don't even think that CPU cooler will fit in that case. Second, you don't need that Windows copy. If you already have a key then I can show you a way of getting Windows (legally) and you don't really need that disc drive. That PSU is good but I think you'd be better off with the one I had. Its still good but its cheaper and its modular.
Stock cooler is fine if you're not overclocking and liquid cooling is generally w/e. A big fan will cool it just the same but for cheaper. 750 w is overkill. 550 will be fine.
I'm assuming you have something planned for the Blu-ray burner and 3 TB HDD, otherwise I would recommend 1 TB HDD for general games and files + <256 GB SSD for OS and games you wanna give the most love to (Dota 2).

The original build had an SSD with a 1TB combo and no, the stock cooler is never "fine".

why isn't the stock thermal solution fine?

Depends on how hot those APUs run. I was a bit worried with my phenom at stock speeds/cooler, when it was a bit warm in here I would sometimes reach 55c. And the limit on those is 62c.
Bought a EVO, even OC'ed and never went passed 43c

with the stock cooler did you ever exceed 62°C? eg did you ever have problems caused by excess temperature? it sounds as though you made the change pre-emptively (which is fine)
and yes an aftermarket solution should be superior. and yes, climate can have an effect.
i'm surprised when people say the thermal solution provided by amd/intel is insufficient .in some cases you can overclock with the stock cooler. it's a multi factorial dynamic thing.

I've been running such a build for quite some time now while running everything from emulators to high end gaming and more. No problems here and I've been running stock case fans, stock cooler, etc.
