Unity starting to grow on me. Never imagined I'd immerse myself in an AC game again( it feels like AC2 days again) . I got most of the controls down and while the story is hot garbage, I still like the setting. The frame rate is not so good in tons of crowds but that's to be expected from a game that looks like this. No wonder they downgraded syndicate lol. But yeah I tried co op too and it's so fun to play with other people. Getting constantly lost in the side content haha. Maybe I feel this good about it because I got it cheap? Who knows but it's worth the cheap price I got it for. Tons of fun content and the main missions that have assassinations, have a variety of ways to tackle. Good game so far.

It's an alright game. The combat feels way too automated like I press attack and something cool happens. Like you said, the controls take a bit to get used to, though I prefer earlier iteration's controls. Overall it's mildly enjoyable for very short doses.

@soulitane: I'm with you on that. Much prefer how Brotherhood and Black flag combat and controls. You have more control on your character instead of the streamlined parkour in AC Unity although the descend option is finally what the series needed, I still think overall I had more control on my character and platforming felt more precise and challenge in previous games. The combat also feels sluggish and unresponsive here at times and I would say yes too automatic and they sacrificed building better combat for that flashy smooth animation and cool stuff happening on screen. They also took out the quick combo kill and hidden counter kills. It's more fair now I guess but I'm an overpowered assassin goddamnit :P. It's a harder game too based on early 5 hours I played.

It's an alright game but the series needs a big pause and some thinking to how improve the formula or reboot it for the better. Because this yearly thing really hinders creativity and new ideas. I might be enjoying it so much just because I haven't played an AC game for over a year.

The parkour in particular gets easier and more simplistic the more popular the series got. It basically plays itself in AC unity. Just press run and x/A and watch cool climb animation.

@CountBleck12: I heard. It's back up now, apparently, though some people are still having profile issues. What's funny is the steam support twitter hasn't posted anything at all related to this.

@Allicrombie: I see, well I wouldn't know since I'm not logged in right now but I think it's gonna be a while till I log back in. What's even more funny is that they have not made any tweets since July of this year, though I don't see the point of making a Twitter for support if they're hardly ever going to use it.

Yeah, they need to give it a rest. It might be a cash cow but it's becoming apparent they're running out of ideas quite fast.

Been playing SMT: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker for a bit.

Despite the improvements to combat, mission design and demon management, I must say I am slightly disappointed overall, It is definately a good game, but at the same time, coming off Devil Survivor 1 (which was easily the best game on the DS). It doesnt really meet DS1's admittedly high bar. Devil Survivor 1 was probably the most well written Atlus game I have ever played. But so far the atmosphere, and storytelling comes nowhere close in this one. The cast isnt quite as interesting as the original (as juvenile and obnoxious Magical Dolly was), and the lore is nowhere near as fascinating. Events seem to be more focused on Social Linking as opposed to world building.

And really, the main problem iwth the game seems to stem from them taking the worst part of Persona 4, and somehow making it even worse. In DS1, it was fun being a jackass. But here you want to be polite and a smooth talker telling people what they want to hear instead of what your character would say in said situation. Not because anything you say can end up biting you in the ass Fallout 1 style, but rather because you will want to rack up those Fate points so you can unlock a demon that is otherwise unavailable to you because of reasons.

I miss having AC2/Brotherhood soundtrack playing while I wander throughout the city of Paris. I might just listen to previous AC soundtracks while I play this one.

I now have a PS4.

What Games would be recommended for it besides the occasional Bloodborne?

Yeah man, PS4 is pretty awesome... unless you own a gaming PC, then it's just a Bloodborne box.

But at least there are some cool looking games coming up. Persona 5, Dragon Quest 11, Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, Horizon, etc..

I don't know man, it's inflicted with the Assassin's Creed/Ubisoft open world syndrome, where the open world is active busywork that impedes with the game and gets in the way. Got to be a drag after a while.

Sounds like Arkham City.

Speaking of Assassin's Creed, another series I'd rather have consoles. Thanks.

AC unity continues to enjoy me. Sorry if that sounded wrong lol.

The more I play the more I enjoy. It's just fun to do stuff and get lost for hours. Dark Souls 2 is on hold because i'm confused about Navlaan's role in the game. The game is just so mysterious in a good and bad way.

What do you guys think I should pick up on my 2DS? I am considering:

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden

Super Mario 3D Land

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Any Pokemon RPG

What I'll be avoiding:

Super Smash Bros. 4 (would rather wait until I get a Wii U)

Rayman 3D (it's to date the worst version of Rayman 2, down there with the DS and PSOne versions)

Havent been too fond of the music in The Witcher 3. At times I find myself enjoying the world with the music turned off while I'm doing general exploration so I can absorb in the atmosphere - the sound design in the game is great in a very natural way.

There's alot to say about the rest of the game, but I think the combat is not the biggest issue that's holding it back from topping my year end list. Really enjoying the game, otherwise. Can easily see why people highly regard it as the best game this year for them.

Already pre-order Street Fighter V for PS4 and possibly, I'll get it on PC just for guilty pleasures. I'm totally hype for SFV, if anyone hasn't pick up the hype tread request, I'll gladly do the hype thread for it.

To be honest, I'm one of the few who is still cool with The Phantom Menace. I can understand it was GL first attempt to try something new with CGI, but then again, he should have been wiser to stick with the special effects that the original uses and TFA shows this by not overusing CGI. As for Jar Jar Binks, he was just there, kid Anakin didn't bother me that much so I honestly never understood the hate when he's just a kid, didn't expect much going out of him, The Pod racing was totally awesome, and Darth Maul was badass but poorly executed but at least in the Clone Wars series, it made him a badass again.

Yeah, the prequel Star Wars, for as shit as their narratives, acting, etc were still satisfied me in introducing new worlds before the events at the end of Ep III.

The world building sucked though.

I'm okay with the prequel trilogy. It expands the universe and the scope of Star Wars, plus on the whole, the story it is trying to tell is actually a pretty great one, it's just let down by terrible execution- bad writing, sterile directing, and so on. Revenge of the Sith I legit like- it's at the very least better than Return of the Jedi, and definitely better than the other two prequels.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

I mean, you do know that you can rip literally any Star Wars movie apart like that, including Empire, right?
