Well, sadly it appears that only the Japanese market was blessed with the Loopy. NUON devices were in fact released in both the US and Europe, but since there was no single official NUON console, I will rescind that vote as well. 

The LaserActive, however, WAS a specific console and was launched in at least 2 regions (Japan and the US) as were the other following systems, so it stays.

I'm skeptical on this. If I remember right, Char bailed on the Final Fantasy list once IX got more votes than VI (without updating to show that). So yea, we'll see how long this lasts.Sphire

The NES/SNES had plenty of games that werent side scrollers.  A good portion of the most popular SNES hits werent side scrollers.  But even so, side scrolling doesnt make them lesser games.

There were side scrolling rpgs, side scrolling platformers, side scrolling action games, adventure games, beat em ups, racers, etc...

There are plenty of "me too" devs out there and there always have been.  Besides that, games do often share similarities when the player is given a certain perspective.
