[QUOTE="ice144"]I refuse to be hyped. Anyone else remember all the lies we were shown in the previews and gameplay videos before Oblivion came out? Worse than Peter Molyneux. I'll watch it, and it'll probably be great, only for me to play it and find out that it's not what i was told it would be.lawlessxwhoa whoa whoa..what lies are you referring to?

lol
I really hope to see mechanical things, too, not just fluff. Does that make sense? I want to see what it will feel like to play the game.musicalmacYep. It could very well just be showing off the graphics and doing finishing moves. What I most want to see is them talking to an average NPC and walking around a town or city.
Yeah, I'm most interested in seeing the combat, it has sucked pretty horribly in all the ES games. They also said they improved the third person camera, so it would be nice if it was valid to play third person and have decent enough battle animations so it doesn't just look super weird like in vanilla oblivion. Bethesda has a history of hyping up unique features that fall flat, so I really hope they can prove these changes. 110millionHonestly, I didn't mind the goofy 3rd person camera, which is just as goofy in Fallout 3. I didn't mind it because I never used it, lol, so it's only my personal taste that effects my feelings on that issue. A combat update, while welcome, isn't as crucial to me. It's only because they've mentioned adding it that I want to learn more. The main concern I have is how they'll handle leveling up, both for the player and the world surrounding the player. I don't want it to be so ambient that it makes the game seem ridiculous (RE: bandits with glass armor everywhere; rats that are still dangerous when you're a high level). Morrowind did it right, in my opinion, because it made exploring both exciting and terrifying. Coming across new creatures was always interesting, because victory against them wasn't a certainty, you didn't know if you were in the ballpark to take them on. Oblivion killed the danger and excitement of exploration. EDIT: I understand it's going to be close to what we got with Fallout 3. It is disappointing to an extent, but judgment shouldn't be passed until more is revealed.

For me, the only reason why I didn't use third-person view was because it was goofy. Very floaty and completely awkward to use. If they nail it in Skyrim, I'm sure more people would love to use it to explore environments, stealth, etc. If you ever played Thief: Deadly Shadows, you would know exactly what I mean. With that said, if they're going to throw in a third-person view mechanic in there, they should make it great. If they can't, due to the game's engine limitations, or just pure laziness, then they should just scrap it altogether.
I probably wouldn't use the third-person camera for combat per se, but I definitely would use it to explore and stealth when needed. I think the combat is most enjoyable in first-person view, the way it's meant to be played... but this all rest in the hands of great combat animations, and animations in general.
Yeah I really hope its not (like some people fear) some like stupid montage of cut-scene style attacks and such.1 hour and 20 minutes left.. alright. Finally!
Hope to God it's not a 1-2 minutes video. Preferably at least 4 minutes..

I would be extremely disappointed. I waited since yesterday. If it's gonna be that kinda crap, it'll kill me..
