Just wait to see and find out more about the game, man. This trailer is hardly enough to go ahead and write the entire game off on, lol.

Im not writing the game off. But the trailer showed nothing or very little improvement in all the areas i was disappointed with in Oblivion. Now, while they havent showed anything like NPC ineractions, so i cant judge on that, but what they have shown is not much of an improvement from Oblivion.
Lmao, check this out.
The actual lyrics are in this Draconic (D&D lore, click here)
Dovahkiin Dovahkiin Naal ok zin los vahriin Wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal Ahrk fin norok paal graan Fod nust hon zindro zaan Dovahkiin Fah hin kogaan mu draal
English ->
'Dragonborn, Dragonbor,
By his honor is sworn,
To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercest foes rout,
When they hear triumph's shout
Dragonborn for your blessing we pray.'
There's even a translator for this fiction language. Damn.. that is deep.

Yeah, well, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SplJ7U0Jgtw:P
Seriously, the game looks like a nice step up from Oblivion to me. Todd Howard said that everything from the animations to the combat has been redone and from the looks of this tiny glimpse we just got the privilege of seeing, I am inclined to believe him. At any rate, to each their own. I will leave you to your disappointment. I don't expect that any other game this year will give me as much enjoyment as Skyrim will, save maybe Dark Souls. I plan to take in and enjoy the hype, leading all the way up to release day.
Can't get this darn theme out of my head!
Gf is going to get angry later when I'm humming the Skyrim theme.
Booming music seems to make everything awesome, but I'm also trying to keep my hype down considering Oblivion wasn't quite so awesome, but unlike a lot of other devs, they've put some good years into this, so we'll see. That actually got me really excited about this game. I'm trying to keep my hype in check, but it's looking fantastic.

Yep, that booming music made the trailer 10x more epic :o
I loved Oblivion, but it definately wasn't as great as it could have been. I hope they do with Skyrim much of what they should have done with Oblivion. Right now, I can say I like the premise of the story much more than Oblivion's.

I agree. Don't see what all the fuss is about over this trailer. Looks more of the same from what was shown.
Hopefully the next footage they show is more involved.
Music was pretty awesome. Also question from an Elder's Scrolls noob. I saw in the trailer that there were parts that were in 3rd person. Will there be an option to play it in third person?mrmusicman247Yes, has been in since morrwind i think.

Yeah though in Morrowind and Oblivion it looks really bad, like the animations are very stiff, the running is awkward and generally its unplayable in third person. They said they are overhauling 3rd person, and so far it looks really nice from the few seconds it shows, but we'll need to see some proper gameplay in third person.
Definitive is always going to be PC. Any minor changes PS3 got over the 360 being a year late, the PC was better day one.cant wait for the definitive ps3 version again imho

That is pretty much what I used it for exclusively.
Just to clarify, all of this trailer was captured on Xbox 360. Also, the draw distance is not faked in any way.

Yeah, I think that pretty much shoots the "does not look any better than Oblivion" argument down in flames. The difference is beyond obvious, and the fact that this is footage from the 360 only solidifies it. I played Morrowind on the Xbox and Oblivion was the first game I bought for my 360 back in '06. So, the 360 is what I will be playing Skyrim on as well. Cannot wait.

You know when they say "this year's gonna be the best year ever" and we're all like "ya ya we hear that every year *rollseyes*". Well this time I really think 2011 will be the best year ever, I mean look at that lineup. :o
PS3 was never definitive. A year late, barely any improvements graphically over the PS3 version, and took longer to recieve DLC like Shivering Isles.cant wait for the definitive ps3 version again imho

I bet the game will look unbelievable on PC. I'll be more than content with the 360 version, but I am still looking forward to seeing some gorgeous PC footage.

same here. while i've been a console gamer for the past 20+ years it is nice to see what the PC can do as far as mods and stuff.

Yeah.
Disappointing trailer, but except for the goofy-ass dragon shout it was pretty cool. Nice environments, fantastic snow effects.
Is it known what version the footage is from?
