Im not writing the game off. But the trailer showed nothing or very little improvement in all the areas i was disappointed with in Oblivion. Now, while they havent showed anything like NPC ineractions, so i cant judge on that, but what they have shown is not much of an improvement from Oblivion.

Seriously, the game looks like a nice step up from Oblivion to me. Todd Howard said that everything from the animations to the combat has been redone and from the looks of this tiny glimpse we just got the privilege of seeing, I am inclined to believe him. At any rate, to each their own. I will leave you to your disappointment. I don't expect that any other game this year will give me as much enjoyment as Skyrim will, save maybe Dark Souls. I plan to take in and enjoy the hype, leading all the way up to release day.

Wished they showed some gameplay and didn't try to make it all cinematic. Don't see why I care though, it's made by Bestheda and I don't need a time machine to understand that I won't like this game at all.

my guess is it will not be very different from oblivion which to me is good news.

I loved Oblivion, but it definately wasn't as great as it could have been. I hope they do with Skyrim much of what they should have done with Oblivion. Right now, I can say I like the premise of the story much more than Oblivion's.

Skyrim looks good, but so did Oblivion back then. Waiting for some detailed gameplay footage (hoping that Todd Howard doesn't lie again).

I agree. Don't see what all the fuss is about over this trailer. Looks more of the same from what was shown.

Hopefully the next footage they show is more involved.

Yeah, I think that pretty much shoots the "does not look any better than Oblivion" argument down in flames. The difference is beyond obvious, and the fact that this is footage from the 360 only solidifies it. I played Morrowind on the Xbox and Oblivion was the first game I bought for my 360 back in '06. So, the 360 is what I will be playing Skyrim on as well. Cannot wait.

same here. while i've been a console gamer for the past 20+ years it is nice to see what the PC can do as far as mods and stuff.

Incredible trailer. Oblivion was an extremely flawed game and yet it still remains my fondest gaming experience of this gen by far. Skyrim will no doubt take hundreds of hours of my life.

Yeah.

Oblivion was easily the most hyped i've ever been for a game, and though i absolutely loved it and spent a silly amount of time playing it, i still managed to overhype it. So i'm gonna try and keep a level head with this one.

Its gonna be awesome though ...

Disappointing trailer, but except for the goofy-ass dragon shout it was pretty cool. Nice environments, fantastic snow effects.
