@Pedro: Also LMAO at guy saying PS4 owners have nothing to look forward to fur the next two years
December 6th: The Last Guardian
2017:
Gravity Rush 2
Nioh
Horizon Zero Dawn
NieR Automata
MLB The Show Ken Griffey Jr. Edition
Persona 5
Gran Turismo Sport
Ni No Kuni 2
Uncharted The Lost Legacy
Ace Combat 7
And those are just the retail games confirmed for next year. Add in all the digital games and the disparity in games becomes even more staggering.
Lems don't have a pot to piss in when it comes to upcoming games comparisons. 2018 will be even more stacked wit Spider-Man, Days Gone, Detroit Become Human, God Of War. One of those could even sneak into 2017.
The disparity in game development is absolutely comical at this point. Xbox has nothing left, but hope more power will shift the power it won't. Xbox has NOTHING that will generate the hype of what Sony did with a 4 minute teaser. Another Halo, Forza? Who gives a ****?
Threads like this make me miss SW circa 2007 which featured some hilarious levels of devotion to brands. Either lot's of legit fanboying going on here or trolls are trolling other trolls and think they're clever for doing so. Either way it's comical.
@cainetao11: yep... You hit it right on the head. TLOU is an ET of the video game world and it ended beautifully... A timeless experience that both exhibited the talent of the developer and the potential of gameplay marrying cinematic storytelling beautifully.
I'm not going to knock naughty dog/Sony for revisiting their game. They can do what they want, but it should be known that somewhere down the line a choice was made to invest another few years into a sequel to a game that didn't need one because it would be instantly profitable as opposed to giving us the next great Naughty Dog game and that kinda stinks if you ask me.
I'm not condemning tlou2. I wish them well in filling the shoes of the first game. Ill most likely play it. Im just never going to advocate for more of the same in this hobby, especially when it was so unnecessary based on the brilliance of the first game.
Watching the trailer already made the ending of the first game feel less poignant. That's not a gamble I would take with art.
Excited to play the sequel. I thought the first was a good, not great solo campaign, with some flaws in AI and "me-too" gameplay mechanics. I'm confident that Naughty Dogs can make some adjustments to improve on the gameplay front.
The story was a great one that didn't need a sequel, but we might be pleasantly surprised.
What I'm excited about most is the mp. ND hit it out of the park last time.
What coming out in 2018 and playing as a little girl who is very unlikable? Sorry bro, no one cares.
Pretty much. Cows in here left and right claiming "XB1 just got rekt!", over a mediocre game that likely won't be released for almost 2 years. I get that cows have been running short on good news lately, but it must be REALLY bad if they're claiming ownage for this. lol
@mjorh: yea, I'll hope that ND will keep the writing human. Druckmann is obviously talented, so it seems to be in good hands.
As for the plot, I'm confident that the sequel will focus and expand on Joel's lie and the dynamics it'll present between him and Ellie. It's the sensical direction to take.

Must hard being a lem with no promising games on the Horizon. PS4 has a stacked 2017. Hell come Tuesday The Last Guardian is releasing. Did you know that Dead Rising 4 releases Tuesday as well...and NO ONE CARES!!

Same here, if, by any chance, they screw this up or don't live up to the expectations .... it'd ruin the first game's ending.....and the expectations are skyrocketed.

Hahahahaha!!!! The only hype TLG has is about how crap that game is gonna be. On top of that, it is largely being hyped period, because it is the only console exclusive game cows have had in months. The one and done playthrough that is UC4 is growing long in the tooth.
Dead Rising 4 will almost certainly be the better game. Recent console exclusives such as FH3, and Gears are quality games, with quality multiplayer to keep players coming back. The XB1 has been graced with so many great games lately that DR4 is just another drop in the bucket of quality titles recently.
But you keep waiting on tlou2. Lems will play games in the meantime. lol
Contrary to what a lot of people here are saying, the ending left plenty of room for a sequel, and I knew once the credits rolled that their story wasn't quite over yet. However, I can't see their story go beyond a Part II, and I hope Naughty Dog recognizes this as well. Best to end it before it's subjected to a ravage via sequelization.
In any case, I surprisingly loved the original enough to look forward to this one. Despite some gaffs in the AI and the encounter design, and how it techically sticks too close to Uncharted's playbook, playing it on survivor wonderfully simulates the post-apocalyptic setting due to how scarce resources are and how it forces the player to make every shot and action count. I seriously hope they build upon that significantly, because while it made sense given the setting, the gameplay tended to feel a bit thin at times and can spare to add more meat to the bone.
@mjorh: maybe Mass effect 3 level expectations for story?
I read the drukmen post on the Sony page this morning where he says they almost didn't make the game because no good stories came across their desk to start developing... Then one finally did. I'm not in entertainment so maybe this happens all the time, but I dunno, I'm not taking chances with the feeling the first game left us with. Bold move on their part, I hope this new story doesn't flop.

Yeah, as great as ME3 was, it still didn't satisfy me in terms of story and the ending .... and it's much more important here, The Last of Us is pretty story-driven, if the story flops then the whole game flops...
I love all the over dramatic fan boys going crazy in here LOL. You'll see trailers to games that probably won't be out until late 2018 and all you cam think of is xbox is doom LOL. You'll say the same thing after every game release and how long has xbox been around?
Hahahahaa... this is what confirm how sad you are..
Yeah focus on the so call xbox is doom, and ignore all the people claiming 2020 release, ignore those talking shit about the game and ignore a certain lemming claiming TLOU has bad gameplay..hahahahaa

You are pathetic man,the fun part is that you even claim TLOU has bad gameplay and has nothing basically,so in your eyes TLOU scored 95 based on nothing..lol
TLOU is so great that is one of those games that bring the worse in every hating fanboy as yourself.
Keep up the good fight i am sure Quantum Break has better gameplay story and everything right.? hahahahaaa
This come from the same poster who wanted people to see only good scores for Quantum Break while at the same time was praying daily so that Uncharted 4 dropped below 90..hahahahaa

Maybe if it was an actual game, not a fucking movie simulator, the last one was boring enough for me, stopped playing after the black boy turned into a zombie... so boring and anything but entertaining. Seriously, I am better off watching an actual movie.
@mjorh: that's the thing.. Mass Effect 3 was the culmination of years if speculating and hype... Its not easy to deliver on story driven content in this medium... Now, I'm not comparing the writing, characters and story directly, but more their place in their respective form of entertainment, if we had an ET 2 or a shawshank redemption 2? For every "empire strikes back" there are a dozen "sandlot 2's".
The bottom line is its their property to groom. I hope they blow our minds. My perspective is that of, "why would this talented developer not take us to something new and fresh and allow their standalone game which was incredible become a classic? How much money do you need?
What? Quantum Break has been released and Crackdown supposedly next year. Are you going to pretend that most of what Sony has shown is not either CG or very very early gameplay of their games? To be hyped about any Sony sponsored game is to waste your time getting excited especially if you are looking for gameplay. But if you prefer waiting and using the controller only to progress the cutscene, then I can understand the excitement.
It took 3 years for QB to release and still counting on crackdown, you say shit about it right you and other lemmings so yeah dude stop being a hypocrite.
Uncharted 4 was very early to when it was first shown didn't take 3 years from the moment it was first shown.
This is ND not Remedy.
Hahahahaaa....You lemmings are a joke.
Dowplaying arguments use by lemming against TLOU and TLOU 2 so far.
""Who cares it will release in 2020""
""At last i will have something to play on my PS4""
""TLOU has bad gameplay TLOU 2 will have bad gameplay as well""
""Who cares Scorpio release next year""
""I prefer games with gameplay not scripted""

Poor poor fanny. Who don't play games and is limited to one system. Must be hard watching others having the luxury to play a variety of games across systems. LMAO. What have you been doing with just the PS4? Replaying No Man's Sky? Or are you one of the few folks who are still playing Uncharted 4 Multiplayer because the single player experience was a borefest?
One of these daysyou will be big enough to play games on any system. I know its hard to believe but little devil, you will be able to one day.
Oh look the argument #3440 ""Pretend you are not biased and claim you play on all system even if you have a MS tattoo on your butt""..
Oh look he call Uncharted 4 single player borefest when single player is the strongest point of uncharted 4..hahahahaa
Like you told someone in this same page ""keep repeating that one day you will believe it""
Hahahahaaa..

TLOU falls into the category of being genuinely overrated, just like Uncharted 4. The amount of phantom praises these games get is amazing and it makes me wonder if people actually played said games. I am still debating whether the fanatics for these games are on the same level as Half Life 2 fanatics.
Yeah i am sure reviewers who praised the game didn't play it..lol
Here is where your i am a ""mantircore"" argument truly fail the bitterness and butthurt ND causes with its games is mind blowing...lol
Will own every Xbox ONE,NX and PC games for sure :)

I'm so stoked!! We probably won't see this out until late 2018, maybe even early 2019 ... and if that's the case I'll most likely be owning a PS4 Pro/4K TV. So Naughty Gods, no rush I'm willing to wait to experience this in all it's glory.
Same here, if, by any chance, they screw this up or don't live up to the expectations .... it'd ruin the first game's ending.....and the expectations are skyrocketed.
Why are people comparing this to ET the movie.?
This game is not like ET at all and the world they live in was still screw up,so how wasn't a sequel need it.? Or wanted?

Really not understanding the people who are saying the game doesn't and shouldn't have a sequel?!? Did you play the first game, did you see the ending? It sets up a sequel perfectly, tying up the first game nicely but opening up new potentials for the sequel. It HAD to have the same characters, TLoU wouldn't be the last of us otherwise.
I'm super stoked for this game. Easily one of the most memorable games of last gen.
I can see why some wouldn't want to see another one but the universe and the characters they created are just too good to pass up on. There are plenty of other stories you can tell that could be just as great if not better.
@babyjoker1221: I won't be waiting for shit. I will be playing a ton of good exclusives whether you like them or not. The best MP games are on are on PS4 any way. You wanna bet on Dead Rising 4 being better than The Last Guardian? Loser stays off this forum for the rest of the year.
@mems_1224: It's a better lineup than Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Sea Of Thieves and Forza 7. Talk about a bunch of games most people won't give a damn about.

Did you really just say that the best multiplayer games are on PlayStation 4? That system is almost completely devoid of any meaningful multiplayer experience...
@StrongBlackVine: That's your list for 2017? The only good thing about that list is that I can save power since for the coming year because that list is abysmal. Must have taken a lot of time trying to find something to play and that's all assuming it's being released on time. Don't worry, Sony would feed you trailers to keep the tag line strong. "Greatness Awaits"
@dynamitecop: PS4 has the highest rated MP games in Overwatch, Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2. It has the most popular games including those first 2 and COD. Halo and Gears are not the hot shit any more. Only hardcore Lems care about those games now.

@Guy_Brohski: @dynamitecop: That statement would be true if multi platform weren't the most played MP games across all systems. In addition to that PS4 has FFXIV.
@guy_brohski You proved my point. The mere fact you think or decided to use my alias as my real name as a "meaningful" counter was perfect validation for my claim.

@dynamitecop: You said PS4 has no MP games. It may not have exclusive MP games(neither does Xbox outside of Halo), but it does have all the popular MP games people actually care about. I'm glad Sony isn't wasting resources MP focused games. That is why I don't like Xbox exclusives. They are smart to let 3rd parties handle that and stick to creating unique experiences in-house. That strategy seems to be working quite well.
