DON'T WATCH VIDEO UNLESS YOU FINISHED THE GAME

Tom (the reviewer) admits he doesnt like Joel (the co-main character), but through his explanation as to why, he shows us

that he doesnt understand the character... I wonder is Tom a psychopath? Does he lack the ability to understand basic human emotion via dialogue/body language?

Through watching the spoilercast, it was blatantly obvious that Tom just didn't get it.

@ 12:40, Tom asks what was the motivation for Joel's character... HE DOESN'T KNOW? REALLY??

Why is this fool reviewing games? No wonder I rarely agree with him.

The video is a very interesting look at the reviewers reasons for scoring the game the way he did... and it seems, its because he lacks comprehension

The story and characters were amazing. For me it was the gameplay that brought it down, would've given it an 8.5 - 9.0 imo.

I also had a lot of issues with the AI.

I just beat the game and I think this is easily one of the best games I've play this whole gen, The reviewer is a Joke! I stop watching the spoiler cast in 5 minutes when he said he dislike Joe because he is shady for working till 11 PM and living a big house, First that house isn't big, it is your average suburban house. Infact pretty much every house you get to sneak or walk in in this game are just like the sizes of his house!  Also He must never heard of working "Over Time" in a busy job!

@TC, he just asks a question about Joel's motivations. The others even say "that's a good question," because it is. I could think his motivation is different from what you thought. Not liking the character is all a matter of opinion, I didn't like Ellie all that much, I connected to Joel way more. Badosh

I agree... liking a character is subjective. However he states that he dislikes the character, a lot.... then, through his explanation as to why, shows us he just didn't understand the character... like it was lost on him. If you watched that video... you see what I mean. It's like he lacks something that comes naturally, to others, about understanding human behavior

Great game imo. Which an 8.0 clearly states. People here are too in love with numerical scores and the meta game. My issues are plot holes because of game design. Joel and Tess take the job in order to get weapons back. Yet I could've had 100's of weapons if they didn't some how disappear after I killed someone who was JUST SHOOTING at me. And why do I pick up more ammo from infected than military? 8.0-8.5 imo.cainetao11

Any game requires you to suspend some form of logic, well, to enjoy it anyway.... same goes with movies and tv shows.

Given this game strives for realism, i get why you focused on it.

Well one complaint I have is the slow ass load times.
Perhaps I've just gotten used to my PC but comeon man I played through nearly half a dungeon of Oracle of Seasons while waiting for the game and savefile to load in the couple hours I played.

Starting the game is a slow load.... but after its running.... there is very few load screens afterwards... if any at all. The loading seemed to all be in the background, during cutscenes and such.

Right but the game is still very dependant on the story/setting. I think they nailed it, and that's why the game is so good. But I can see if you're not getting or digging it, for whatever reason, how that would affect your enjoyment, seeing the core mechanics aren't anything brilliant.
