That belongs to the Wii *insert title here* series (although both sports compilations were good, with Wii Sports Resort being the best one). Nah, it's Steel Diver. Wii is actually a fairly fun franchise, and each game is expertly made for what it is, and among the top in its genre. The only exception would be Wii Music.[QUOTE="timbers_WSU"]
Worst Nintendo franchise.

[QUOTE="Pikminmaniac"][QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"]unless if your talking about the ground textures this game looks far from mediocreNAPK1NS
yeah. Besides, this is Nintendo's Biggest A tier title of 2013 and you know when Nintendo brings their A game, they bring their A game
 Man, I remember you hyping Pikmin 3 when the Wii was launched. This must be the best game launch of all time for you.You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this game (well actually a guess you do :p )... The original Pikmin and Pikmin 2 were game changers in my gaming life... Those worlds completely absorbed me when I was 14 and 17 respectively. They showed me that an entirely new and outstandingly brilliant genre could still be invented in an industry that felt like it was completely defined at the time.
Also just in case you didn't catch Kotaku's interview with Miyamoto, here's what he said about Pikmin 3
"You know, obviously video games are designed for the player to play the way the designer has intended them to," he said. "But a good gameand this is really where I think Pikmin 3 stands outis a game that gives you enough freedom that the player can create their own way of playing and can find ways of playing that the developers didn't envision. I think Pikmin 3 is a game that is very much like that. There are so many options strategically and in terms of the items you're going after. Obviously the stage layout and where they've placed the items have all been done by the designers, but, because you're so free to choose your approach to it and your strategy, I think that people are really going to be able to think through on their own and really come up with creative ways of how to attack these levels."
That's a description for just about all the greatest games of all time right there. It's how pretty much every single player game should be made IMO. It describes Super Metroid, Symphony of the Night, Mario 64, and other legendary games.
If this wasn't shared yet. Here's a Japanese ad in Shibuya Station.

I wonder if there will be a strong advertising push for Pikmin 3 in the Americas.
[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="Demonjoe93"]she'll complain there are too many pikmin. or too many plants. or too much emphasis on bringing stuff back to the ship. Both it and Tom are both bad reviewers. I am sure both of those guys will nitpick the nitpick. They get talked about outside this site even.If Twisted Metal wasn't too hard to stop her from giving that mediocre crap an 8, then this game will be just fine. :P

Please grow out of your ignorant bubble.
I'm going AA with my hype. I think the game will be a blast, and the best Pikmin to date. This is the game that makes me want a Wii U.
Love me some Pikmin.

Even Wii Music was kind of cool, Wii Play on the other hand...*sigh*
Looks like something the children will be able to thoroughly enjoy. I'm guessing a 8.0 based purely on the fact that it will be a great tool for keeping the little ones preoccupied while you go about your business unimpeded.

It is a game for everyone and believe me it is not made with kids in mind!! .. I remember pikmin games being very challenging and needing a lot of head scratching :)
Anyway .. Hype is AAAE ;) .. Let's spice things up :P
Playable Pikmin 3 on July 20th and 21st in participating GS/EB stores in NA/CA. Preordering the eShop version of the game also lets you download a full day earlier. Straight from Reggie's mouth:
Slashkice
I'm so pumped. I love what Nintendo is doing with these in-store exclusive demos! It's a great way to give a treat to gamers and bring their fans together . You know....in person. Which the other two guys (whom I do still ove) have completely forgotten.
I'm bringing this thread back as it is getting quite close to the release of this game and reposting this wonderful quote from Miyamoto that gives me so much hype for this game

this kind of game has been sorely missing these days
From my experience, I think Pikmin is too complex and difficult for kids.Looks like something the children will be able to thoroughly enjoy. I'm guessing a 8.0 based purely on the fact that it will be a great tool for keeping the little ones preoccupied while you go about your business unimpeded.

Predicting 7.5. Pikmin 3 is not GameSpot's breakthrough.
Big_Pecks
I think it would be funny if it got 7.5 on here. Some of my favourite games of last gen got that score (Skyward Sword and inFAMOUS 2)
While those games don't quite exactly dwarf the market, you have plenty of games this generation that give players options and allow for emergent gameplay and player driven encounter designs.

If they want a female character there is always Brittany.

Well either way if this game scores low or high it's completely irrelevant because it's carolyn. Her scores and reviews essentially mean nothing Like Mcshea's but on a more acute level. They know nothing of consistency.

If it was Mcshea I think it would be AAA since it was his favorite game that he played at E3 and Nintendo's post E3 event at the end of June or begining of July.that would be horrible. That's why I prefer to stick with GameRankings when someone like McShea reviews a game. That guy has lost so much credibility as a reviewer.

I just took this from Metacritic
and I expect a Carolyn flop on here which means it will be impossible to have any discussion on this game unfortunately.
I've never actually played a Pikmin game, but this looks very nice based off of the demos I've seen. And graphically, I think it's further proof that Nintendo's technical shortcomings this generation won't matter much, because it's still -- if not a huge leap for everyone else -- a very big step up from where Nintendo's been for the past decade. And considering people buy Nintendo platforms for first-party titles, that matters.
Honestly, I'd probably buy it if the game A) lasted for more than 10 hours, and B) had some sort of online component that gave it legs. I play mostly handheld games, so $59.99 makes most console games a really tough sell for me.
AFAIK it has a story mode that lasts more than 10 hours, also mission mode, bingo battle and leaderboards.I've never actually played a Pikmin game, but this looks very nice based off of the demos I've seen. Pikmin 3 feels like the next step in the franchise: a perfectly balanced game thatll easily keep you occupied for fifteen hours with a very satisfying learning curve. Everything is also nicely polished with graphics thatll suddenly have you produce copious amounts of saliva. Still, a cooperative mode wouldve been nice. Pikmin also dont follow you as well as they should all the time. These are tiny stains on one of the best Wii U games to date.

Strategically speaking, Pimin 3 is the strongest part in the series. The levels are tenuously constructed, and blossom into more complex environments slowly but surely. Youll miss a cooperative mode, and some of the Pikmin trail behind stupidly from time to time, but you will look past these problems because of all the other things it has to offer.
