So it has film borders and runs at 30fps? Pffff movie game confirmed

Though if the effects are actually nice then it will pay off I guess

Good to see there aspiring to thier original ideals and not conforming to some of the gamer society's modern day "60fps or die" mantra.

This game will be truly special.

If the frame rate is consistent 1080p@30fps is just fine.

Developers like picking visuals over better performance.

its not 1080P though. Also they confirmed no multiplayer. I went from excited to lukewarm on this game today. And not because of the FPS or resolution, but because of the no multiplayer

I guess in the case of this game it could be justified. I mean 60fps objectively looks better to me in every single game no matter the genre but if the visuals are really good and the effects really ARE that nice then I could forgive it. As long as it's locked solid at 30 and not dropping into the 20s

If its "the gameplay that matters" then why so much emphasis on cinematics, from trailers to the actual game.

We still haven't seen anything about this game. I can't sit here and hype it nor can I say it will flop. So we're stuck in limbo.

I will say that I feel Ready at Dawn, or Sony, are doing the wrong thing with marketing this game. Journalists get to see and talk about the game and they all praise it; why haven't gamers seen anything yet? I get this feeling of paid-off journalists, or that deal of them getting to see the game and talk about it only if they mention these good things and ignore the faults that the devs promise will be taken care of by the time release comes! Those problems won't be fixed.

Consolites when game runs at 60 fps: "OMFG UNLIMITED POWAH GDDR5, TEH CLOUDZ, NEXT GEN ROXXXORZ, PC GAMING IS DEAD"

Seems they went with better visuals over performance and for this type game it is acceptable. I'd rather have more eye candy than higher frame rate when it comes to games like these. The only time I get upset at 30fps is in FPSs or racing games. If they can keep it locked at 30fps it will be great.

clearly m$ paid the devs to sabotage the game and to further hinder any success they insisted on black bars. this is why i hate m$, they ruin gaming with their unmoral money

Hard to gauge what this game will be like. If it's more cinematics and little gameplay I won't even bother. I like to play the game not watch it.

Not sure about those film borders either, I prefer full screen.

Good that means it will look amazing. 60fps basically requires twice the power to run compared to 30fps. I'd much rather have them use that horsepower to make beautiful games. This goes for the ps4 and xbone. These consoles just aren't strong enough for 60fps with Tru "next-gen" graphics.

Except RE4's godliness has nothing to do with its visuals. It was all about atmosphere and pacing. What the Order is like remains to be seen,...... literally, we haven't even seen it in motion yet

Well press were likely shown a gameplay scenario with a lot of bells a whistles to make the game look great so they would be wowed and write good articels, therefore hyping the average gamer before even seeing anything.

I mean look at the talk surrounding it without people ever having seen real time gameplay and it's all based on one trailer and articles. That's not bad on Sony's part. They have hype trains rolling without even showing gameplay, that's impressive

this is why I was holding out excitement for The Order 1886, becuz the devs dont have any pedigree in making console games.

Sure, they made some decent stuff. But the best are only the best until they **** up. I try not to rely on what a dev has done to judge their next game, it helps but they could easily pull a Crytek on it

Even though its 1920x800 and its no co op no multiplayer and what ive seen of the game a little QTE in there I think it will be truly a great game I'm hype for it cant wait to play it.

the game will not have a multiplayer component. So viva for the $60 linear game that will most likely be like 5 hours long, like these type games usually are. The type of game you beat once and never touch again.

Infamous and now The Order is 30 fps too...there's a trend forming here. The Order isnt even an open world game. thats odd...wonder if this will continue with the ps4.

That's not really surprising, but I really can't stand it when people make it out as if only fighting, racing, and FPS games benefit from 60fps. The game's emphasis on being cinematic is disturbing.

If this was on Xbox one all you cows would be mocking the crap out of it for not being 60fps. Cowspot confirmed.

I don't think they could pull a crytek. It's too far out now. Also why not a little. That's how we judge how their next game is going to be after all.

Oh it is, especially for a developer with the only pedigree being PSP games or port (good ones at that.) And if people are excited for it, that's great. I know for the longest time Final Fantasy XV's reveal trailer (as well as the little information that came with the reveal) put the game as my most anticipated title at the time.

Again, not bad at all for Sony that there's this much talk but it just makes me, and I know others, wary. If they just shared a gameplay trailer it would help gain the skeptics approval.

well, 30fps might make for a more cinematic experience, tried watching that Hobbit movie in the fast 48fps and it felt like I was watching a stage play, playing COD at 60fps made me feel like I was having an anxiety attack

excellent the Cinematic games were the biggest titles last gen, and with ready at dawn having god of war experience under their belts, they are primed to make the order the jelly of lemmings and hermits.

60fps is obviously best in every genre of video game but in games other than fps, racing sims, platformers, sports games and fighting games, I couldn't give a shit as long as the frame rate is locked with v sync turned on.

Past-gen was even worse.

Today we have CG trailers advertised as gameplay trailers. Considering PS4/X1 hardware capabilities, those trailers could actually pass as legit, but mostly aren't.

Remember why I keep saying to be careful about hyping a game to the moon you've seen no gameplay for? Yea, I'm sticking to that.

don't kid yourself. If this game were on Xbone the devs would have to hold back on effects for the poor game to even run 30 frames at 720p.
