Remember why I keep saying to be careful about hyping a game to the moon you've seen no gameplay for? Yea, I'm sticking to that.
Cows don't know how to do that, it's all or nothing. Then they make up bullshit excuses when it disappoints.

Good to see there aspiring to thier original ideals and not conforming to some of the gamer society's modern day "60fps or die" mantra.
This game will be truly special.
You wouldn't say that if it was an X1 exclusive
So far we have 720p/30fps with dips into the low 20s with Dead Rising 3 and 900p/30fps with dips into the low 20s with Ryse. I think 1080p with a locked 30fps is fine for many games. Assassin's Creed IV ran like that on PS4 and it was smooth. The only time you will see Xbone get bashed is when it runs the same game runs at worse levels than PS4 version or some last gen shit like 720p/60fps(Titanfall).
If this was on Xbox one all you cows would be mocking the crap out of it for not being 60fps. Cowspot confirmed.
don't kid yourself. If this game were on Xbone the devs would have to hold back on effects for the poor game to even run 30 frames at 720p.
the Xbox gets a harder time because it costs more money, yet it is weaker. And this has been proven with MULTIPLE games so far which show that it's not just a difference "on paper".
Just cancelled pre order and my ps4 is going on craigslist to the lowest bidder.
The underpowered system finally got to me.

Wait, why shouldn't I hype The Order again?
Not sure how you missed it, but he clearly stated the reason in his post...
Consolites when game runs at 30 fps: "It's perfectly fine and reasonable."
Consolites when game runs at 60 fps: "OMFG UNLIMITED POWAH GDDR5, TEH CLOUDZ, NEXT GEN ROXXXORZ, PC GAMING IS DEAD"
Hermits when anything is less than 60 fps and 1080p: "It must SUKZ CAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE TEH GRAPHICS"
Except RE4's godliness has nothing to do with its visuals. It was all about atmosphere and pacing. What the Order is like remains to be seen,...... literally, we haven't even seen it in motion yet
Had lot to do with visuals. RE4 was graphic showcase for gamecube and one of best looking game of the generation. Was a game that was great in all aspect, and visual was part of this.
If a game is truly great, people won't be paying attention to the frame rate, as long as it's consistent. If the Order's a great game, it won't matter.

That is because we run all our games at 1080p and 60fps. Consolites hope and pray that the devs can maybe possibly not really get it to run at 60fps and usually settle for 30. Once you get used to filet mignon you don't go back to baloney.
So it really is nextGen Gears of War.
I remember Cliffy B did the same thing with Gears for the exact same reason. I remember Cliff explicitly saying the game could have run at a higher framerate, but his GOAL was to add so many effects and whatnot to make sure the game couldn't run any faster than 30. The more things change, the more they stay the same. At least it's 1080p.
@NFJSupreme: And in the sacrifice made in the graphics department, we get big-budget exclusive titles. It's a give and take.

I have consoles too though. Do you have a gaming PC?
On a side note this is exactly what I said would happen and cows called me a Lem. Just as I have been saying PS4 exclusives are gonna be 30fps. Y'all better get used to this. If you expect them to truly take advantage of a console 60fps is out the window. Only expect 60fps on multiplats that have to be made to the lowest common denominator (xbone) but for exclusives 30fps is what the standard will be unless it's a racing or fighting game.
@NFJSupreme: Yessir, a pretty badass one at that. Certain games I insist on playing on PC -- anything Bethesda, some high end first person shooters (Far Cry 3 was stunning on PC).
Determining whether to buy something on PC or console comes down to a few things -- Would I rather play with a mouse and keyboard or controller, would I rather play on my comfy couch, and is surround sound more important than graphics...
The final question is whether or not I'm ever going to sell the game after I get sick of it. It's a lot harder to spend full price on a game when you know you have to keep it forever.

yeah some games i'd just rather play with a gamepad. Or some games (ie sports games and fighting games) are pointless to play on PC cause the real communities for those games are on console.
We still haven't seen anything about this game. I can't sit here and hype it nor can I say it will flop. So we're stuck in limbo.
I will say that I feel Ready at Dawn, or Sony, are doing the wrong thing with marketing this game. Journalists get to see and talk about the game and they all praise it; why haven't gamers seen anything yet? I get this feeling of paid-off journalists, or that deal of them getting to see the game and talk about it only if they mention these good things and ignore the faults that the devs promise will be taken care of by the time release comes! Those problems won't be fixed.
I'm assuming they're waiting until E3. Hell, I'm assuming EVERYONE is waiting until E3 to show off new stuff (besides Nintendo, obviously)

It was impressive, sure. But it's not one of the reasons I'd regard it so highly today where it has reached Godly status or GOAT status.
Maybe one day we'll see gameplay... or is this PS4's The Last Guardian ?
Expect a full media blowout in the next two weeks. I think Feb. 18th is the date.
It'd be nice to know what you actually do in the game first.
You shoot stuff...
Remember why I keep saying to be careful about hyping a game to the moon you've seen no gameplay for? Yea, I'm sticking to that.
Right. Because games running at 30 fps are considered bad and haven't say... oh I don't know... ever won GOTY. Oh wait... MGS4. Uh oh... Demon's Souls. Um.. Journey.
Surly that glorious 120 fps pc power is capable of producing for more Goty worthy titles, right?
Ummm...

But 1080p 60fps glorious PS4 games?
MGS4 isn't even 1080p and neither Demon's Souls.
inb4 720p 30fps
And kinda expected for a title like Journey

Answer the question. How many pc exclusives won goty last gen? Quit dancing.

Avoiding the ownage,as usual.
Congrats on buying a console to play only 3 games for the whole gen,in 720p
Gotta make some sacrifices for the title of graphics king and those fully destructible environments.
heres my version of damage control
it would be a totally different story if they cant do 1080p 60fps...but thats not what their goal was.
with that said, wtf rly? they shouldve aimed for 60fps...this is next gen
weak hardware is weak. Because of this graphically intensive games like exclusives will be at 30fps. You want 60fps, next gen graphics, and 1080p? Get a PC.
@chikenfriedrice: Always playing victim.
Nope, just pointing out hypocrisy when I see it.
It's a design choice, not really an indication of limited power. The PS4 could have a pair of Titan's in it, and the developer could still be targeting 30 FPS 720P. They simply want to squeeze the most fidelity out of the hardware at the expense of resolution and high frame rate.
Not a problem for me as long as it's locked. With what it seems they're doing with destructible environments and physics it's the one game that might just offer an experience that's truly next gen and for pushing that i could forgive 30fps.

I think many of us were hoping it could be like it, but with other means. The game never needed competitive MP sure, but everything we've heard about the game so far (which mostly is just a GI cover story, but still) would suggest this is a squad-based shooter. Gears really did seem to set the trend for co-op last gen and to not even have that feels like a huge missed opportunity here.

i really wish i could get a pc....dont have enough money right now.
you think it cant be done on ps4? im pretty sure it can be...if its not the developers goal, then its not going to be done. well thats my opinion anyway
