SSBB and Halo 3 are nothing alike. basically this thread is just another Wii Vs. 360.

Pretty much.

I approve of the content within this post. Except that I don't "hate" stamina and time limits, I just quickly tire of them.SSBB by far. Halo is great, but I cant play more than a few multiplayer matches, it just gets really boring fast for me, co-op is a totally different story though, Ive spent gigantic amounts of time on that. While with Melee me and my friends have been known to play all day. Other fighters are just not as exhilarating as SSB is.
I hate stamina and time limits, stock lives and unlimited time where you literally smash your opponent out of the ring to win is so much more fun for me than traditional fighters, which like Halo I can only stand to play for a few matches before getting insanely bored with them. SC is the only fighting series that I ever really got into enough to cut into SSB, albeit extremely marginally.

Halo 3 coop is awesome, the multiplayer I haven't really gotten into much yet.
I think Brawl will last me longer, I honestly can't picture myself playing Halo 3 as much as Brawl.
Things I like about Halo 3 right now are The multiplayer which is fairly decent most of the time, The Single player with a friend on Co-op which is pretty fun. I don't give a hoot about the Forge or the snapshot stuff since I don't really touch it.
[QUOTE="Zhengi"][QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="Zhengi"][QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"]...serious question: Will Brawl even be the most bang-for-your-buck Fighter?
Soul Calibur 4 will be online. FACT.
Tekken 6 will be online. FACT.
Virtua Fighter 5 will be online in a month or so. FACT.
DoA4 is still being played like crazy almost 2 years post launch. FACT.
Do we now suspect Brawl will be more played that all of these? Will it be better than any of these, given the better online solutions Microsoft and Sony are providing, vs. the obtuse, poorly implemented Wii online and friends codes?I think that we should discuss this before comparing it to the standard for console online multiplayer that is Halo 3.

This makes absolutely no sense. It's like saying this:
PDZ is online. FACT.
GRAW is online. FACT.
COH 4 is online. FACT.
Generic FPS which I forget what name it has is online. FACT.
Will Halo 3 be played more than those? Of course they both will.
That would be because Halo 3 is probably the better, more fleshed out, more impressive online FPS.
What's your point?
My question is why are we comparing BRAWL to the best, most robust and feature-filled multiplayer game on the market today and for the forseeable future when BRAWL has yet to prove that it'll even be the best in its genre THIS YEAR? :|
The point is that they're different games. Online isn't what made SSB and SSBM the games that they are. Online didn't affect these games in previous gens and now all of a sudden it's going to matter now?
As for Halo 3 and SSBB online multiplayer, Halo 3's is obvioiusly superior, but to many people, that is not the defining "more bang for your buck" option. It might be for you, but not everyone sees it that way. Therefore, you can argue online all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that people would still play SSBB despite its archaic online more than the other games you listed.
Bang for the buck essentially means which will have a higher replay value. And SSBB, in my opinion, has a far less replay value than Halo 3.
And imo, SSBB has more replay value than Halo 3. Will you look at that, differing opinions?
I think most people who are picking SSBB cause mostly they don't like Halo 3 that much or Halo mp or cause they're basing it on personal taste.
I think in terms of value for consumers who wanna buy it... not even based on my likes or dislikes just for the average consumer Halo 3 has more options and modes and things you can do.
I mean I love how Halo 3 is also integrated with Bungie.net
I go to that site and look up new user created maps or game types and I can click download from the site which will que it up for my 360. It's wicked.
Halo 3 just has got a lot more things to offer IMO.

I just wanted to know people opinions. That's it.
And I don't represent all sheep.
The thing with is that you focus on online, which I'm ok with. The thing is not everybody thinks the same as you. People still play Melee to this day and it doesn't even have online. Different people have different opinions on stuff. And judging on SSBB websiree updates, it looks to have a lot features and modes:? but hey that's just I think.

You're missing a lot not playing forge.
I think most people don't get the kind of thigns you can do on Forge. It's like a new mode in itself, well not like IT IS. It has it's own section on the main menu. The kind stuff you can do is wicked. And I love being able to search through the user created maps online and click which ones I want on the site. I've played some funny stuff.
And rocket baseball is funny lol

You mean a fighter with unknown quality online(That's free),customizable music for each level,a full on epic sidescroller with co-op!,each character plays differently, unlockable characters, levels, music, assist trophies, trophies, stickers, tournament mode,an improvement everywhere over previous games, four different control systems,SNAAAAKE,3rd party characters and AAA gameplay VS. Godlo 3.:Pso wait... a fighter only with ridiculously awful online vs a full on epic campaign, massive multiplayer, replay theater, and game edior..hmmm.. only a fanboy would vote for SSBB.. It's fine, go play it, since you guys had to wait nearly 2 years since the launch of the 360 to play it. We get SSBB just a few weeks over a year since the Wii launched :)

I have played HL2 and it's mods for 2 years, so imagine HL2 ep1 and 2. TF2, portal.... insane.

SSBB..I played Melee for years, whereas I only played Halo 2 for maybe half a year (on and off too).princemarth23
I can say the opposite. What now?
SSBB.
Not only do you have huge ammounts of game modes, you have free online. You have to pay twice as much to play Halo 3 online over the first year then Super Smash brothers Brawl. Over the second year, you have payed three times as much to play Halo online then to play Smash online. Get into year three, and you've pay 4 times as much. Per dollar spent, Super Smash Brothers will be a better investment, especially the further into the future you go.

SSBB cause you'll be playing for years to come.Hitamaru-homia
And not Halo?
People are still playing Halo 2 mate.
Halo 3 has campaign scoring (addicting as hell, and can be competitive or co operative), ranked multiplayer (Halo 2 is basic compared to this new template, and that game has been going strong for 3 years), Saved Films (Expect a lot of Youtube videos. Expect a helluva lot more amongst XBL peers), and "Bungie Recommends". If you thought Halo 2 was crack, it's got nothing on Halo 3.

This thread is asking for an opinion and the person you quoted gave his. Why in the world are you attempting to prove his wrong and yours right? While you are at it, mind answering that same question in regard to Halo 3?
The fact is that we don't know what SSBB will ultimately have once it's released. Also, people such are yourself are currently in a Halo high that seems to be clouding any differing opinion, morphing it into something you feel the need to attack. Truthfully, it doesn't matter in the long run since value is determined by the individual. You can give me a diamond and say it's valuable but that's for me to decide in the long run. You may feel that Halo may be the most bang for your buck in gaming ever but every person in this forum may gravitate to something completely different.

Your sarcasm detector is broken...halo 3 will last longer in replayablility IMO
forge and custom gametypes make almost endless ways to play
Online boosts re-playability...but even if SSBB ends up having barebones online, the sheer amount of content and diverse modes makes it more varied than the conventional fighter. To that extent it will probably have more replayability....serious question: Will Brawl even be the most bang-for-your-buck Fighter?

You get my seal of approval:
Halo 3. SSBB's online is primitive anyways...SpaceDragonMan
Online has nothing to do with replayability lemming. People like you thought the world was flat, Jeez, never played super smash before have ya? If your mind can even comprehend what over 999 hours of SSBM means replayablity wise, maybe you'll begin to understand that if it is ONE building block for the tower that is SSBB, this game can last twice as long as 6 years. Halo 3, nice graphics sure, forge, great, but I dont think you'd want to play for 6 fricken years, its not that addicting.
I dont think I've ever been this angry at gamespot before.
Halo 3 has more modes and variants bar none.
One may like SSBB more as a series, but there's not going around that Halo 3 packs far more into one disc.
i can't believe how many people are putting SSBB. there is absolutely no way anyone who's knowledgeable about these two games would say you get more for your money with SSBB. replayability is mainly an opinion but for features and game modes halo 3 wins by a landslide.
don't get me wrong, i'll be getting SSBB the day it comes out but come on, $10 cannot make up for all the things halo 3 has that SSBB doesn't, including excellent online.
brawl. then again im not a big fan of halo so i do have bias
but for me brawl will have more replay value then any game released until the next smash bros is released.

Brawl isn't even out yet. So you can't possibly say that.
Brawl DOES have a lot of features, and there are more to be announced.
Online
Long Single Player which has to be beaten with every character and on different difficulties
Co-op play in single player
More online modes that aren't announced but were confirmed
Special matches
Different types of matches (Stock, Time)
Customizable music
Trophies
Stickers
Tournaments
Unlockable characters

Excellent online costs $50 a year.
Also, all the modes and features for SSBB haven't even been announced yet. There's more to come. Heck, just the list of music from famous composers seems to dwarf Halo 3's.
As an avid fan of both the 360 and of the Halo series (and someone who does not yet own a Wii) - my vote goes to SSBB.
SSBM was worth thousands of hours of entertainment to me last gen. I got it on release and have played using the exact same copy of disc/memory card for well over 4 years now. No other game comes close for me, and even my enjoyment with halo is dwarfed by the sheer replayability of SSB games.
