SSBB by far. I mean I still play SSBM and it dosent even have onlinemurat8

Whoever voted for SSBB is completely crazy and fanboyish.
I honestly dont think ANY game in the near future will even come close to including more features and replayabilty in one game. NONE!
Online Co-Op (plus finding skulls and terminals hidden in the campaign, which unlock features and online armor)
Campaign Meta-Game (with skulls on or off)
Saved Films (probably one of the biggest features ever to be implemented into a console FPS)
Forge (endless possibilities)
Probably the best FPS multiplayer ever created
Screenshots
Etc, etc
Must be a lot of sheep and cows on tonight, nowhere close is SSBB to Halo in terms of replay.Again, how does being able to see your oppenents's name online add to the replayability of the game?
Last I checked you can't even see your opponents names in SSBB, much less converse with them via voicechat.
Not to mention forge and saved films.

I've been able to save footage since the beginning of 2007. DVRs are quite a populare device, and let me upload ot youtube and such. And we all know seeing your opponents name when not in a friends battle is so much more bang for your buck than a singleplayer that wasn't a disapointment and a multiplayer that can actually support bots... (Really, if halo has such great AI in singleplayer, why can't I add a bot to multiplayer bouts?!?!)
That's actually a really hard comparison...
Both of these games are awesome, and are destined to be some of the best of this generation. I mean, I'm still playing Melee to this day, and I was playing Halo 2 up to Halo 3's release.
They both also have almost infinite replay value if you have friends or online. And they're both insanely fun.
I can't choose... I'm glad I'll have both though :D

[QUOTE="Big_T-Mac"][QUOTE="JPOBS"][QUOTE="Big_T-Mac"]I do very much appriciate the fact that you made the effort. For that, i give you props. However, your understanding of how smash has evolved starts and ends with you understanding of the general gist of the gameplay. ok.
*wall of undeniable truth and fact*
oh, did i mention downloadable content?
DSgamer64
I wont disagree with hwat you;ve said because it is correct, however, you have an extremely limited experience/knowledge of the game. You didnt mention the addition of wavedashing (which in and of itself added worlds of mindgames and attack strategies), SHFFL'ing (short hop, fast fall ing, not found in 64) shield games (if your opponent sheilds, you grab, they attack you sheild into a grab, etc), Directional Influence (absolutely huge) amongest many of things that you do NOt know about which leads to your inevitable failure at this debate.
Its not so much that you're wrong, but as you arent informed enough to acctually make that claim. Granted, i give you props for trying to make it seem as if halo has progressed more than melee, but your general ignorance of the game means that you cant objectively make a comparison between the two, because you dont actually know much about melee.
oh, and Samus is completely overpowered in melee. wtf? -_-...
please. that's it? those minor ass things? those don't compare with redefining what should be in evey single game from here on out (full community accessible films and content). By your logic, Halo 3 is exactly the same as Halo 2, the only difference is better graphics, 4 player co-op online and Forge, which in truth is all that has been added aside from vehicles and new weapons, which by your logic are "minor ass" things. Brawl has more customizations then Melee and we are still almost 2 months from release for Brawl, the addition of online which will no doubt include rankings and player matching are just a few new features being added. Don't forget the new Final Smash abilities and far more lengthy single player which also has co-op mode now. There is still lots of time for things to be added for expansion of gameplay and no doubt there is still lots to be unveiled.
Seems Big_T-Mac can't stop his trolling ways though
Don't forget the massive ammounts of unlockables. Audio CDs for more stage musics, stickers just for the hell of it, trophies, charecters, stages... Probably a few more things if I know sakurai right.
The thing for me with Halo is it's a FPS, and there are many FPS games in development. Eventually one of them will top Halo and will attract a lot of players looking for something new. SSBB, on the other hand, is practically one of a kind. I can't find another game like it. So whereas I may play Halo for a year or two until the next big FPS, SSBB will be the only brawler.DaAznSaN
This is a huge peice to this whole debate. How many FPSs like this have you played and see coming out? Now how many games share even a slight resemblence to super smash bros, past or future...
Must be a lot of sheep and cows on tonight, nowhere close is SSBB to Halo in terms of replay.Enjoy watching your online games. I'll enjoy playing Brawl Online, with friends in multiplayer mode, with friends in coop, and by myself. But I;m sure Forge and saved films add huge new game play concepts.

Hahaha. Exactly why I made this thread. I will get both too at some point. That's actually a really hard comparison...

So it's a challenge huh?:PTell me that again in a year from now when I'll be kicking your butt online!

the fact that you call wavedashing, shffl'ing, and directional influence "minor ass things" pretty much proves that not only do you NOT know what they are, but you dont understand their importance and the level ofdepth and complexity they bring to melee which smash 64 lacked.the fact that you call n00b combo, bxr, bxb, snipe swiping, and super bouncing "minor ass things" pretty much proves that not only do you NOT know what they are, but you dont understand their importance and the level ofdepth and complexity they bring to the sequelswhich halo:ce lacked.Again, your downfall in this arguement isnt that I can out play you in a halo vs smash debate, but rather, you cant even defend yourself in a halo vs smash debate because you dont even understand what you're arguing.

EDIT: Oh, also the fact the fact that u don't understand what the word 'redefine' means also hurts your argument considerably.

you do relize that saved films is more then just a recording of your game. you can move around the map. single player is great

wait what? The things you said about Brawl are the same things you can do in Halo, how is that a plus for Brawl?
