Greninja is my favorite so far
Okay, I figured out why the online was acting up. It's stupid as shit, but either switch your phone off, or put it in another room, or on Airplane Mode. Apparently the signal from phones interferes with wireless on Smash.
@charizard1605: I've been thinking that too, especially on Wii U, every time I have my phone nearby it starts to disconnect a ton when trying to play with a friend on games like MK8 and I believe it happened with some other games on the Wii U.
Is 1v1 For Glory working for anybody? I can play the other modes fine but I get an error code whenever I try to do that specific mode.
@TwistedShade: just did one. No problems. I think everyone should reconfigure their router and 3ds settings before playing smash online, that seems to be helping.
@PikminWorld: Yeah, that helped. There was no lag at all in a 1v1v1v1 for fun game.
By the way, what's been your favorite song so far? Personally I love them all, but I'm obsessed with the Tomodachi Life remixed(?) song right now lol. The Ocarina of Time Medley from Brawl is also a wonderful addition to the soundtrack. Looking forward to the Club Nintendo offer for the soundtrack.
After spending even more time with it, I must reiterate: Do give Smash Run a fair chance. You spend five minutes doing some platforming, do the final challenge and, win or lose, you still get a shitload of goodies. I don't think any other mode gives you so many trophies and other small unlockables like Smash Run.
Also, here's a weird thing: In theory, you unlock Flat Zone 2 by unlocking Mr. Game and Watch. However, the stage was not playable for me until I cleared all the first 35 challenges. Has this happened to anyone else?

Me, too. In order for the stage to unlock, you still have to clear the first page of challenges after you unlock Mr. Game and Watch. It's actually listed as one of the challenges on the second page of challenges. Just cleared the first page just now. The wording can be confusing.

I imagine any completion guides out right now aren't entirely accurate either.

Probably not at the moment. But there's an article on Kotaku that describes a pretty quick way on how to unlock all of the game's hidden characters.
@scottpsfan14: it is, the only reason melee still played is because brawl was crap as it literally fucked up tiers, prevent a lot of combos, and had cheap omnipotent characters like meta knight. It was so bad that people prefer the community MOD and over the years, we've been seeing more competitive fighters show up for the superior Project M at tournaments.

Oh yes, and make sure to pop in a lot of speed and attack and you will just waltz through the maze grabbing those treasure chests. Attack to kill the big enemies faster (who drop loot).
Screw defense, good offense is hte best defense. My Bowser runs faster than Sonic The Hedgehog, who the hell needs defense.
I've been doing a lot of the Classic mode and some Solo bouts, trying out a lot of the characters and seeing what I really like. What I've been playing as:
I was using Shulk for a long time, trying to get used to his Monado Arts. Still having some trouble but I like how he played. Also was trying Charizard, so far he's my favorite heavy but not yet proficient with him. I was disappointed with Greninja at first but playing him some more revealed that I like how he controls. I think I prefer Marth over Lucina but they both have they strong qualities. Ike, who I abhorred in Brawl, has been quickly becoming a favorite of mine. And I'm enjoying Duck Hunt a lot more than I thought I would. In list form:
I'll need to spend a lot more time with Yoshi, who I was maining for the last two months in Melee when I picked that up. Rosalina, Palutena, Robin, Toon Link, Zelda, Sheik, Sonic, Little Mac, and Wii Fit Trainer will all need a bit more time to see how I feel about them. And Jigglypuff and Mr. Game&Watch are both characters that I usually had as alternates, but G&W feels a little underpowered.
I need to decide on like two or three that I really like and just main the crap out of those, practice practice practice. Spending too much time changing it up, not giving myself enough time to really get to know each one. There's just so many great characters! Still have three left to unlock though; R.O.B., Ganondorf, and Bowser Jr.
@Zassimick: At this point, I don't think spoiler tags are necessary.
Bowser Jr. is really unique. I need to spend more time playing with that one.
@SolidGame_basic: I don't know, but it's really stupid that we can't. At least it's the only mode with that restriction, yes.

i was under the impression from the previews that it would be. they were making it out to be a premiere feature of the game
@SolidGame_basic: Nah bro, they outlined that it wouldn't be online like six weeks ago lol. There was even a thread about it here.
Anyway, that said, yeah, the stupid thing should have been online. I probably would have played it more if it was (though it still would've been an equally stupid mode lol)

You're probably right, especially in this thread. :P
And holy hell the Ganondorf voice is absolute garbage. Just unlocked him and what they did to him may be the most disappointing thing I've experienced in the game yet. Sure he hits hard, but he runs like a Welshman, like I said his voice is garbage, he's not menacing at all and he feels so artificial. Where's this threat looming over you, the ultimate villain of the Zelda universe? What I wanted was a hulking beast, a fierce foe to be reckoned with, and what we got was a fat guy, a bastardized version of the character if there ever was one (not saying I don't like his design because I do, it's more his movement that I'm complaining about.)
Put him in the right hands he'll of course be frightening, but c'mon.

that sucks
Starting to get annoyed playing 1v1 For Glory. I'm running into a lot of people using really annoying tactics and a lot of throw spammers.
A lot of people just sit on the side of the arena and do nothing until you get close then spam throw you for the rest of the match...it's very annoying to play against.

My problem with Smash Run is that we never know what kind of event we'll ultimately be facing off in the end. So we're literally stocking up on randomly spawning loot for a randomly generated event, that may or may not match up to our random build. It's bizarre.
What Nintendo has done by bringing Smash to a handheld is awesome. The presentation is top-notch, the visuals superb, and the music excellent, of course. I have only played around three hours or so of Arcade and Classic modes, and the only issue is that using the slider is more awkward, clunky, and deteimental to keeping up with speedy fights than I initially thought. I have an original 3DS model and am endowed with rather large hands. Hopefully I can adjust, but it has been a bit uncomfortable and problematic in the actual matches.
@93BlackHawk93: I think it's because he's really easy to grasp and do well with. Whenever I beat somebody as another character they'll go and switch to Little M since he's easy to do well with.
How could Nintendo remove Stamina mode? =( Now it's only available in Smash Run, I really wish you could customize Smash Run to a certain mode.
I just played some For Fun Online.
I won all but 2 of my battles.
EDIT: holy cow, has anyone seen the world wide stats? The KO count is in the Hundreds of Millions! It's like everyone who died in the first week of Dark Souls 2 also died in the first week of Smash.
So um.. I'm fighting master hand and crazy hand when all of a sudden they turn into master core.. pretty cool

Figured it out, I always took the White Path
@charizard1605: At intensity 8.0+ you cannot even take the white path anymore. Meaning that you are forced to fight Master Core. Who also has far more forms than he does at 5.1
Ahhh, I see.
Yeah, he's gonna kick my ass.
