The Xbox One Gamescom Discussion Thread!

Seriously any non Xbox One owner including myself has to admit that the X1 has a pretty damn solid lineup next year; Quantum Break, Scalebound, Gears 4, Recore, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown, Halo Wars 2. 7 games total. All exclusive. All potentially AAA.

I mean come on... No fanboyism, but the X1 is looking very appealing as a console. Which is why I want one to sit next to my PS4. How the heck can I miss out of those 7 games and the X1 games coming this fall? While also having the PS4 exclusives. Best of both worlds!

Wasn't impressed by Quantum Break or Scalebound. Fuckin' yawn x5. I liked what liitle I saw of Crackdown 3, but the only exclusive that's screaming to me as a gamer on that console thus far is Gears 4.

Xbox has been stepping it up man, they have a great lineup for fall and winter (starting now with Rare Replay and Gears later this month).

Then you add in the backwards compatability later this year. Xbox One is looking mighty good right now.

Crackdown looks very promising and Quantum Break continues to impress. Not to mention Gears of War 4m ReCore and Cuphead joining those ones for next year. MS is looking real nice to finish this year strong and continue that for next year.

Rare Replay, Gears Of War Ultimate Edition, Forza motorsport 6, Halo5 and Tomb Raider is looking nice for the rest of the year I can't lie. (Fable Legends to if anyone is interested in that)

lol Cows and fakeboys trying to downplay Scalebound we all know damn well if this was PS4 exclusive you'd be making it the second coming of christ.

Funny how most of the people here not impressed by Quantum Break were the same ones sucking off UC4 2 months ago

Crackdown looks really rough, some of the worst animations I've seen in a while.

Scalebound looks very promising.

QB really isn't impressive. Doesn't mean it can't be a good game like AW. Also, it's not fair to compare it to UC4.

It didn't look ground breaking but it looked fun and interesting. My point is that the same people calling it a generic cover shooter were just hyping the king of generic cover shooters a little while ago

Scalebound's well... scale is kind of impressive. But the gameplay itself is a bit underwhelming especially since it's coming from Platinum, a dev known for being much more fast-paced and frenetic than this .

Looks like some good games coming my way in 2016.

I dare say it may possibly be that Scalebound > FFXV.

Especially considering Scalebound is a JRPG. I thought PS fans loved JPRGs?

The only thing I'm not impress is the fact it's release date is April 2016. But however, I can live with that and I rather Remedy take there time with Quantum Break then rushing it out the door.

When UC4 gets a "press button for freezing all the enemies to make the game easy" function, I'll understand where this derision is coming from.

Sea of Thieves and Halo Wars aren't exclusive.

Lol, I'm going to watch the highlights tonight during downtime at work. These responses so far are so predictable. Cows hating on the conference, and Lems praising it. System Wars in a nutshell.

Most excited for Crackdown, looks like it's going to satisfy my need for co-op gaming. Scale bound co-op caught me off guard, wasn't expecting that but now will keep that game on radar. BC news is great with adding x360 gwg. I just would like to see focus on x360 arcade games (castle crashers, deathspank and etc...).

Overall great showing at gamescom and very happy with all the news.

I have to say that 2016 is looking to be one of the greatest years for games. :O

So I just watched the gameplay video of Scalebound. It seems okay I guess. It didn't really tickle my bawls like Horizon did though.

Apparently you never watched Ninja's stream. It was used regularly and quite effectively.

Fair enough, but they still aren't exclusive if they're on another platform.

I'm very excited for scalebound. I've read that you can also customize the shape of your dragon (I'm not she if they mean in co-op, campaign, or both) into more serpent like dragons or western ones. It's in pre-alpha according to the footage. So the fact that it's a little rough around the edges but still seems to be something to watch out for is great.

Also I don't know why people are complaining about Quantum Breaks time powers being "easy" when:

1. None of us played the game. There can be disadvantages to it. Plus those complaining clearly missed most of the gameplay where enemies are not effected by your time powers as shown in BOTH QB demos. So again I don't know why people don't think there will be a challenge.

2. This time slowing down thing is nothing new to Remedy. They always done stuff like this. Max Payne? Though not time powers, you were still able to use slow motion ability that made the gameplay "seem" easy, but it was still not.

3. Like I said again this will not be a cover based third person shooter like Gears or Uncharted, but more in the fields of Max Payne which Remedy are good at.

Xbox is the console to own.

It's as one of the bullet-points on Scalebound's website. You can select your style of dragon (winged serpent, tank, etc) and then evolve it's abilities, attacks, and appearance.

Uncharted 4 has definately shown better gameplay than Quantum Break over the last few years so far. Easily.

Why are you surprised to see people go "meh" at Scalebound? It's a Platinum game. Their titles are usually very... divisive.

Yep. A much more agile and active game. Shootouts are 10 times more interesting with the traversal drake has and the vertical arenas. Gotta say it's more my thing. Completely clowning the time mechanic of QB. Not to mention UC4 oozes with character don't you agree?

so you just want more of the same boring shooting that UC has been doing for years? got it. Ill stick with Remedy, you know, the company that actually revolutionized third person shooters.

Yeah I completely agree. I've never been much of a fan of gears just by how grounded and stilted it all feels.

I don't know where you get off on trying to call people out when you yourself are always praising Tomb Raider(reboot) a franchise which owes it's resurgence to UC. It's a knockoff of the game you call the king of generic. It's a very hypocritical stance to take.

Personally I'm far more interested in the story(& it's characters) than on the gameplay of QB, which I'm confident will be more than adequate to keep things interesting.

Except Tomb Raider doesn't play anything like Uncharted. Apart from having set pieces and really simple platforming they're not really comparable. Tomb Raider has much better and more open gameplay and actually has a progression system and areas that are a little bit open to let you explore. I dont give a single shit about the stories because they're video games, they're always going to have dumb and generic stories. Besides, Remedy tells better stories than ND except for maybe TLOU.
