In terms of best?
A game like Half Life or Doom would probably deserve the title but in my own preference I could glue myself to COD4 online alllll day.

Never could get into it. I didn't find it scary either.

This isn't Metroid Prime.

Great gunplay, yes. Also very satisfying that you dont feel like you are just shooting sponges the whole day.

Half Life 1 & 2 for me. I love FEAR but the level's are as dull as they come, still, it's combat's unmatched which is a shame since it's about 6 years old.

There are far better first person shooters than FEAR. In fact i probably wouldnt even have thaught of FEAR if i was making my own top 20.

This. The slo-mo gimmick does absolutely nothing for me.

Fear was an average shooter at best, raised up by, at the time, it's fairly impressive horror/story dynamic.

FEAR was great and definitely one of my favorite FPS games...the sequels, not so much :/

Well, I'm still pretty attatched to counter strike. but for single player I'd say the original half-Life.

That game was too reptetitive for myt tastes, Bioshock is a million times better than that. Except for the hacking, that was the most annoying thing ever.

Don't know what my favoreite FPS game is to be honest, mabey Time Splitters 3? That game was bad ass back in the day.

I found the original Unreal a bit lackluster. I mean, it looked great, jaw-dropping even. But, as a game, it wasn't enough to tear me away from Quake 2. Now Unreal Tournament.....that's the Unreal game to talk about. I loved Unreal Tournament.

These two are the best.

FEAR is such a great game. My favourite would have to be Stalker: SoC or Arma 2, though.

I personally did't enjoy it. I didn;t find anything remarable about the game, i was also hoping more a much more prminant horror. I got a shooter that was a bit creepy, not what I was after.

Well in SMB you dodged man eating plants and goombas.

In Deus Ex we dodge enemies, turrets, bots, and lasers. And we use platforming to get to higher places. Not to mention the different material and sizes of your "boxes", if I didint have that strength aug I couldnt lift that big box over there.
