[QUOTE="Gh0st_Of_0nyx"]Whats the hype for this game again ?? AA or AAA :?Metal_RAYAA...and in this thread AA as well if you can look -_- Well if it's AA then im voteing for a flop score of 7 - 7.5 :wink:
remember people dont be a fool and buy this game, RENT ITdipper145I completely disagree. First off the game is awesome, secondly there are so many things to unlock. Videos, making of videos, concept art, different effects, mirror world, playable characters, and tons of stuff to collect for those who can't help but find it all.
[QUOTE="Metal_RAY"][QUOTE="azshorty2003"]Something tells me you're very correct.i hate knowing the fact that theyre gonna post it at 4am when no ones on to argue and yell about it, because they probably flopped it at 8.0
azshorty2003
i dont doubt it. they were pretty prompt with all the 9.5 reviews, yet now this review has gone past midnight (EST) and still nothing. BS
I think I remember Rachet and Clank review being like this :(
Hope the game scores a 9 or better. (Rachet and Clank deserved a 9 as well)
Orin , nice photoshop.

You know what's funny, how you are in such denial. I was at a gamestop today and I saw it. So stop being ignorant.
after playing the game for about 2.5 - 3 hours, I am into chapter 6, and the game is getting notably more difficult (and i'm only on normal difficulty). I have collected a handfull of treasures, and have yet to unlock anything truely special yet. But let me tell you.. This game is just.. FUN. VERY. FUN. So far the balance between shooting and platforming seems just about perfect, and though there are some *very* minor graphical glitches, and some (hardly noticeable) screen tearing, the overall experience is just awesomely fun so far. And the story is chugging along VERY nicely. It is well integrated into the story, and theres already been a few stylish twists that make it very movie like!
AAA IMO!!! (9.0)

it will get a 5.5

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to mention the obvious: This has to be the most beautiful game I have seen to date. Whether or not it is the console graphics king is to be decided by the beholder, but to me, this is the only game that actually made me stop, and just stare at the scenery, going "Wow.. that is beautiful".0rin

I beat the demo on easy setting. I found it quite challenging. Is the demo really easy compared to the rest of the game or is it the same difficultly as the demo?
I mean. You know how when you normally play a demo of a game, it is usually the first level or something and it's usually very easy to beat. Well, is this the case in Uncharted as well? Is the difficultly level any harder than the demo or about the same?

Nice to hear. I'm going to check my local Gamestop. :)
best graphics ever
the textures on the game are nothing short but amazing, i got the pics from neogaff, i have the game but im waiting on my ds3 to come in, should be today, or monday
a quote from Awntwan, from neogaf
You might want to check that TV bro 3;
Crysis arrived in the mail today and I got to give it a good 45 minutes before I popped in Uncharted, and I DARE say, I'd put them even between what each thing does/doesn't. Crysis running on all Very High except Post Processing, Shadows, and Object Detail (High on those) at 1280x1024 on my 8800GT. Uncharted actually looks better in some aspects with regard to textures quality and mapping, lighting, animation, and even the way the foilage reacts to the way you run through it. To be fair Crysis is a lot more open and is fairly impressive in that regard. But to be able to say it looks comparable would have sounded absurd even to me until I saw them both back to back.
The water... WOW. I'd thought it was okay in the demo, but the other parts in the game where it's deeper and you can really see the rippling while swimming and whatnot... WOW. Best water on a console game so far hands down. Looks way better than it did in all the videos, and I was absolutely stunned seeing it in real time. I'd even say it was better than Crysis's water if not for the fact that you can actually submerge underwater in that one.
Given Crysis has room to improve as hardware specs go up, it's still amazing how a console game can compare at this level. I'll admit I've seen quite a bit more tearing and pop-in in some stages in the final build than there was in the demo, but damn does it look so much better. If you can ignore how incredible the rest of the game looks and nitpick on those minor problems that don't touch the gameplay in any way whatsoever, you have problems.
In terms of gameplay, I have no idea why they showed off that level for the demo. The sequence immediately before that one was absolutely amazing, both visually and action-wise. I suppose you gotta save your trump cards. Damn this game is impressive, and the story is flowing by so smooth. Definitely a GOTY contender. Between all the titles this November, this is probably the best gaming month I've ever seen 3;
I sure hope word of mouth and hype picks up on this game now that it's out and it ends up being at LEAST the hit Resistance was, because even the good reviews aren't doing Uncharted justice.
wow just wow
@GI0:
Well, I am not going to say the game looks quite as good as Crysis, but it looks good enough to hold it's own. Not to mention the fact that it does not have a framerate that drops constantly unless you are running it on god's computer like we are constantly hearing about.
I will agree with that Antwan guy from NeoGaf on everything else though, as I have the game, and it is without a doubt one of the best, most fun, most beautiful, most cinematic, top notch production games I have ever played. The gameplay is like slicing a hot knife through butter it is so smooth. And the controls are tight and never miss a beat.
It has gunplay similar to that of RE4 and improves upon it so you can move while shooting. And it has a cover system similar to Gears, but way more fluid and animated which makes it seem like a top notch action flick shootout everytime you do it. Every time you take cover Drake has a different animation, and different body movements that makes him react and move like a real guy.
Not only is it an amazing third person shooter experience, but the hand to hand combat is an awesomely done, well crafted life saver. For example, at one point, when I reached my crashed plane and walked down a slope into this opening with slabs of ruins all around, I got into a shootout which exauhsted my ammo from my pistol and AK-47. So with enemies rushing me from all angles I had to dart from cover to cover and lure a thug around a corner of a ruined wall, where I proceed to crack his jaw, knee him in the gut, and trip him with a leg drop type move. Then I grabbed his shotgun and was able to wreak havok on the rest of his remaining buddies. Simply killer.
On top of the epic shootouts and sheer beauty, you have platforming that is as good as God of Wars. Everything about this game screams high production and nothing feels tacked on at all. It is all blended seamlessly into one hell of a suspenseful, fun, engaging, beautiful, suprising, cinematic game that is the best game released so far this year in my opinion. Of course I still have to play Mass Effect, but I tell ya, Uncharted is going to be hard to beat for me.
i think it's gonna get a 7.5 here on gamespot
raptor302
Good for you. The game will speak for itself to those who play it. I could care less what number they decide to throw at it, as it sure as hell will not take away from what it is in my view. I am just curious to see what they actually do give it, as I think it is an AAA game all the way. But I am suspecting that it will get no more than an 8.5 here due to the fact that it is not a multiplayer frag fest featuring futuristic steroid freaks in oversized armor using weapons from the year 3100, lol.
This game make me want to buy a ps3 this year. I'm positive this game will get an AAA.Anti-Gamer
If games with no multiplayer like Bioshock can get AAA here, then it would be quite sad if they cannot give AAA to Uncharted, which is twice the game that Bioshock is. I love Bioshock, do not get me wrong, but it has nothing on the quality and excitment of Uncharted.
However, this is Gamespot we are talking about here, plus it is a PS3 game. So I would not get my hopes up, If I were you.
I dunno, I got the game sitting here, and just looking at it, i wanna play it so bad. But I'm waiting for my friend to get here XD0rin
You're a PS3 fanboy from Seattle Washington! No Way!
[QUOTE="B1ACK_MAGE"]Just picked it up about 10 minutes ago. When is the review going up, every other site has had it up for days now.0rin
If theyallowed the utmost of detail and talent in all their reviewsthen RC would have gotten an 8.5 or 9.0here :lol:

Don't even try to compare this game to a masterpiece like Bioshock ... And didn't everyone decided to agree that GS's review of Bioshock was right?They're both singleplayer only games and Bioshock proved that if the singleplayer is quality, then you don't need multiplayer. It seems that everyone wants quantity instead of quality. :roll:

And in my opinion, Uncharted is a hell of alot better than Bioshock. Bioshock does not mix shooting elements with killer platforming, and action adventure elements as well, all wrapped up into a top of the line production that is like playing through a movie.
Bioshock is a repetitive, linear FPS, albeit a very fun one, but is has nothing on the production value, variety of gameplay, graphics, and story that Uncharted does. That is just my opinion, and if you do not like it, then too bad I guess.

Uncharted is more linear than Bioshock . And is more original than Tom Raider . LoL . Bioshock was more groundbreaking then uncharted is and probably has a better story too. Instead of mixing platforming it mixes RPG elemenents. Just so you know most people stopped plaing platformers in the late 90s ( Mario is an exception) .
PS: Do reviews come out during the weekend ? Weekends are really slow here.
Below 8and tonight we'll see Mad Cows all over SW.DeadMan1290
Have you even played the game yet?....I did not think so. Anyway, I sure as hell am not going to get mad if it scores low, lol. As it will not change the fact that I love the game, and the number that Gamespot decides to put beside it certainly will not make it any less of a game for those who dig it. I am just curious to see how they do score it.

That means Uncharted will get lower than 7.5.

R&C got a 7.5 and Cows ''don't care'' about the score yet they all went on a strike lol about ''Teh biaz Lemspot:cry:'' Please:roll:....Also what does me not having played the game have to do with anything? I know score won't change the game but apparently people these days don't play a game if it doesn't score 9.0-9.5, so don't talk to me about low-high scores.

"Probably has a better story"? Try actually playing the game before making up your mind, man. It would all come down to personal preference anyway, and I merely said in my opinion, I think Uncharted is a better game. As far as the statment about platformers go, lol. It is not a pure platformer, it has platforming elements like God of War. I did not realize people stopped playing games like that in the late 90's, lol.
Uncharted has way more variety in gameplay than Bioshock. In Bioshock you shoot plasmids and guns, and do a few petty tasks like take photos or gather parts....nothing else. In Uncharted, you have guns, hand to hand combat, and some very fun platforming. Yes, it is linear as well, but it certainly has more gameplay variety than Bioshock does. Regardless, it is just my opinon, my friend. Do not tell me I am wrong, just because you disagree, and especially when you have not even played the game.
As for reviews during the weekend, who knows?
