I understand having suhc bad foliage, it is because of the bigger scale, but Fable 2 is vast enough, i prefer the better trees, grass, than having a bit more of the mfar far away

Half-Life 2 was one of the flagship titles when DirectX 9 was being hyped. I remember distinctly buying a 9800 Pro in preparation (and, of course, the game was delayed a year from that point). Episode 2 has only made things better; to say it's 'back from the GeForce 4 era' is laughable and really just ignorant. The game looks and runs great.

Ditto the witcher - it's a good looking games in a lot of ways (not so much in others), but it's over 80% new code over the original Aurora engine and uses a lot of DirectX9 effects (really, any game that isn't at least at that level these days is behind the times).

You clearly haven't seen World in Conflict in action. The cutscenes make it look more like a first person shooter, but then you realize that this is the same game engine, and that for most of it you're zoomed out... It's pretty impressive. Don't talk about Fable's scale and then discount this fact... Ditto Forged Alliance and Opposing Fronts, albeit to slightly lesser extents.

Call of Duty 4, in closed-off areas, looks great as well... Really, that's where it shines the most, so I don't know how you get off saying it 'close up [has] nowhere near Fable 2 detail.' It does have a weak point in that it uses 2D sprites and crap to wall off areas, but that's about it.

And, yea, through 14 (large) pages, the vast majority of people in this thread have not only expressed their opinions that Crysis looks better but also wondered how anyone could think otherwise... It needs to die already.
