[QUOTE="GeoffZak"]Because shooters have gentle learning curves.
Western gamers tend to have short attention spans. They're scared of games with "too many" menus. They're too lazy to learn how to play more complex games like RPGs.
Everyone is in a rush, they want to know how to play a game as soon as they pick up the controller. They don't want to have to take the time to learn how to play.

Yet your a Tales Fan... and most FFXIII sales were in the West.... and Fabel 3, Skyrim, and Forza are for people with short attention spans? TC what evidence do you have to make your post make a tiny bit more sense or did you just make a "I post and no reply" thread?I really don't understand why people say things like that. Something wrong with the Tales series? There's a lot to learn about Tales of Graces f's combat system. My friends who try to play co-op with me while I'm in the middle of the game have to take a decent amount of time to learn the controls and rules of the game. The Tales games aren't simple hack n slash games.
Fable 3? Really? Moving on.
Skyrim. Now there's a decent western RPG. What I don't like about the game though is that it doesn't require a lot of strategy. It's more of an action game.
As for the rest, I didn't say ALL western gamers. I didn't think I had to be that specific. What I should've said was "most western gamers." I was talking about the growing crowd of casual and bro-gamers. Most gamers I've talked to in real life fall in to one of those categories.
