Popularity? Nope.

Daily Players? Probably Not anytime soon.

As for gameplay, a lot of people like Halo but prefer games like HL for story, gameplay, etc.

Halo will not be dethroned this gen as the iconic console shooter IMO. This game made Xbox.

ill name one game that does everything halo does and it was released on the n64 for crying out loud

goldeneye 007 ,, face it , halo was not the first 4 player fps it was not the first to have vehicles , goldeneye had a tank in 2 missions ,

agent under fire had cars in some of its missions tnd had cars in its missions long before halo came about

also perfect dark which s similar to halo has a hover craft

and so many different guns its not even funny

timesplitters offered vehicles by the third installment and it has a map maker since the first installment so your point that naming one game is so defunct i just named 5 diffeent game total that did everything halo did and more

1) The StarCraft soundtrack is APPALLING.Opinion, i think it has an amaizing soundtrack that is atleast as good as halo

2) 1 million don't play Diablo 2 on a daily basis. Not anymore, but its been out for 10 years. in 10 years H3 wont be close to D2's numbers today (H3 will be at 0 at that point btw)

3) Half-Life 2 didn't sell over 3 million in 24 hours. PC games don't need all their sales in the first 24 hours they continue to sell for years after release they generally arent forgotten in a few months for the next big thing being released
