On consoles optimization is key to making a game look great, the Wii U has specs close to the xbone and ps4 and since nintendo is good at getting their games to look vibrant and detailed + running at 60FPS...for me.. that is enough..

He was saying that the Xbone and PS4 being so similar makes arguing about their specs stupid.  If you take what he says out of context and with a literal interpretation, as you do, then we would need no more power than a calculator, all games would be basic pixels and consoles would cost pence/cents.

A game doesn't have to be photo-realistic to be fun but graphics do facilitate a certain level of gameplay and so they are inextricably linked on some level.

1) The tablet is a gimmick and offers no real gameplay enchancements that creates a better gaming experince. Its also not as good as a standard controller for just playing games using it, the battery life is horrible even when compared to higher end real tablets, the thing has a terrible interface that feels clunky and 10 years old, and its weak because you cant even do multi touch input on the screen.

2) The nintendo game library is horribly because all nintendo does is rehash and remake the same old franchises over and over and over again. They have crap for 3rd party support so no one really wants to go all out for the wiiu.

3) Its online capabilities are the worst among all online gaming units for consoles, handhelds, and pc's. Hell pikimin 3 couldnt even have online co-op because the cpu wasnt powerful enough to do it.

Thats 3 of many reasons why.

It's pretty obvious nintendo focused on the 3DS while it was originally flailing, you could tell that how all the games were coming for it.  Now with the 3DS in good standing, they will revert their attention to the Wii U.  It will take a while, but Nintendo always delivers with the games.  Maybe not, death killing field games with blood and gore everywhere, but happy diversions from life with great tight controls and bright colours.  Their games make me, I dunno, happy?  And for someone who's dealt with depression his whole life, that's something. 

 

That said, I've got a PC (I do enjoy the "HARDCORE" games as well) and a Wii U.  That covers the main bases well.

Oh boy, let's play the subjectivity game!  You see, if you think something is "bad", that does not necessarily mean it is "bad"!  Shocker!

But let's be honest, most of you haters are teenagers who enjoy your CoD clones.  Don't worry, I get it, it's fun to kill things in a fake world, hell I enjoy it too!  But I also enjoy amazingly good gameplay, which strangely enough, Nintendo tends to deliver in spades.  I mean sure, Mario might not be weilding a rocket launcher or M16, but the franchises platformers are some of the best around, if not the best.  It's too bad nobody appreciates a good 2D platformer anymore.  Also if there's no boobs or blood in a game, it sucks.  It's a known fact.

Wii and Wii U offer something the other consoles don't...I have really been enjoying Pikmin 3 its a nice break from shooter after shooter.  Honestly I will always have a high end PC.  PC and Wii U covers more as a combo then PC and PS4 or Xboner.  Although lets get real here I will eventually have them all.  not sure why people spend their time arguing about whats better.  

They are just videogames people, enjoy them

PC is only an afterthough in gaming, the dead last thing any real gamer would get to play games, it has zero exlusives worth of anything (talking about big 3D games that need a super PC to look good, not indie kickstarter ones)

But PC has master pieces like Team Fortress 2, The Witcher, Dark Souls, Battlefield, etc. All of which are trillion times more fun and better than any exclusive. They might as well be considered exclusives for PC.

I'm very excited about the Wii U now. It is finally starting to get a little better. (Due to earthbound, Pikmin 3, and 101 Demo.) Every month now there is a reason to play Wii U. It is about time! Most on SW do not really care all that much about games, they would much rather sit on this site complaining.
