Because it's so hard to click the next button right?
why do i need a PC when i have a 360?RoboThreat
for the superior versions of the 360/PC multiplats and the fact that the PC has more exclusives than all consoles combined.
though I have my own gaming pc, and i love it, i can think of a few reasons not to get one:
1. price- though you CAN build a rig for $500, it would be fairly average. one of the main points of having a gaming pc is the increase in power and graphics compared to consoles, so that reason goes out the window when your pc is more or less on par with consoles for $200-300 more
2. games- perhaps the console exclusives simply appeal more to an individual. who are you to say someone should like crysis and starcraft more than demon's souls or halo?
3. friends- maybe all of someone's friends has a certain console. if he got a gaming rig, he wouldn't be able to play with them, and that's a big deal for some people
4. technical knowledge- if you want a cost effective pc, you have to build it yourself. not that it's very hard to do, but not everyone knows how, and not everyone wants to know how. some people prefer to buy a gaming system, plug it in, and play

Ya those H50's arent even worth the money because for what you pay for them you can get a good air cooled cpu cooler that cools better. Plus dont have to worry about the pump failing and frying the cpu, at least if the fan dies you can still cool the cpu passively and replace the fan for cheap. that V8 is i7 passive (no fan) approved... The V8 is a decent cooler at best all it has going for it are its looks.... I've seen reviews on both, but cnt be asked to look for them. But just asking the quastion at an overcloking community, they all agree the H50 is the better of the two. Plus I have the H50 and it keeps my i7 at 4ghz at 25c idel, and about 50c while gaming. We also have the HAF 932, that really helps in overall cooling. the V8 on my cpu at 3ghz stock keeps it 25C idle and 42C max when chewing through Seti@home and programs that keep the cpu at 100% which games dont always do. I bet if you ran programs like that you would see 60C+ even though still lower then what stock cooler does.[QUOTE="04dcarraher"][QUOTE="NVIDIATI"]

This would have been a lot cleaner:
...but not nearly as cool :P

1) NeoGAF, built a 500 dollar PC back in 2009 (probably cheaper now) that can run Crysis 30FPS + atat 1680x1050

2) Preference is preference, its subjective. But what is objective is the PC has far more exclusives.
3) If people didn't just stick with consoles this wouldn't be a problem.
4) Websites like NCIX will build it for you for 40 dollars (with combo) if you don't want to build it.

Numberof games is a faceless statistic. The actual games is what get people interested, not a number.
Example: Subject A is interested in BioShock, Bayonetta, ME2, Halo Reach, Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake. He buys a 360 accordingly.
Somebody telling him "but the PC has more games" means little to him, since he is interested in those games. You could even list PC exclusives that are similar to those games, still irrelevant, he's interested in those games, not similar games.
As I said, different people are interested in different things.
It will be very difficult to go on with this discusion if you continue ignoring the huge subjectivity involved.

A PC in the $500 range would wipe the floor with a console. Maybe now, but could you have built an equally powerful PC to a 360 for that price at the start of this gen? And won't it be the same next gen, when a console will equal a mid-high end PC for £300?[QUOTE="Sword-Demon"]

Consoles are always more powerful than computers at launch, but the lead only lasts for mere months; technology moves on, consoles do not. If we are to compare consoles of today to computers of 2005, shall we also use the prices for HDTV's from 2005? No?

Alright so your saying that the fact that PC has more MMO and RTS games than consoles is a NEGATIVE on the PC? Right....Yes it has multiplat games, but they are significantly superior than the console versions. Especially when we include mods. Some multiplats are so superior on PC, like TF2, that they are practically completely different games.

I was a PC-only gamer, up until just before the end of last gen. I got sick of all the PC-related problems, and instabilities. I saw how much focus and resources were being put into the console-gaming market. Then I also noticed, that all my friends had bought one machine, that lasted them 6+ years and still played everything smoothly. For too many people, computers are to much work to keep them functioning properly. Unless you have a STRICTLY gaming only rig, you're bound to run into problems eventually, even with the proper protection. In the end, I am glad I am playing(mostly) consoles at this point, because I think (imo) PC devs are getting sick of the amount of piracy in the PC-gaming market. Just look at the sales figures, considering how many computers there are out there, these numbers are pathetic. Not saying consoles don't have piracy issues, just obviously PC has a WAY bigger problem. Therefor publishers and developers alike see console sales number often(and easily) in the millions. only a few PC games have the same sales, and they mostly come from one company.dRuGGeRnaUt
Bull****. Because it's only been this gen that consoles were capable of playing games smoothly through the entire generation right?
