Good thing Jeff didn't review it. He would have murdered it.
Oh!
A perfect score. Well never mind.

I don't know what you're implying but I think its clear that I guess I do need to explain myself.
Wii Sports Resort is barely a "game." To be compared to other AA titles like Infamous and Little King's Story is an absolute joke. It's sad that even with the wii's overinflated scores the console cannot compete with the two "losing" consoles. A game like wii sport's resort scoring high up with the rest of the wii's AA's is an even bigger insult to it's library.
hakanakumono
Certain types of games should never achieve certain scores. And games without certain elements should never achieve certain scores. And no game should ever receive a 10 because no game deserves it. That's how I see it.
Just because a game doesn't have any problems doesn't mean it should automatically score a perfect 10. Or a 9. Or an 8.
hakanakumono
Have you forgot what gaming is? Gamign is about fun. You don't see me going around saying games with Girly looking guys should never recieve certain scores. To compare other games with normal looking characters compared to gender confusing characters would be an absolute joke wouldn't it 8)
Waiting for a Wii AAA, still.LethalhazardI'm sorry but your not a true gamer if you only play AAA games. Not only that but Gamespot rated AAA games. I mean seriously some of the best games ever created are not AAA.

[QUOTE="enygma500"]
I don't understand the review at all. In the video review he says that most of the games aren't too involving or good. but there are 3 or 4 really fun games. He then goes on to say that the game sucks while playing with yourself and is only relly good as a MP title. A MP title without online? Then he says the graphics are crap, like the first. Then says there's no variety in the sound. It's just enough to get the job done.
On any other system, regardless of controls, this would have scored closer to a 5 or 6. The whole video review was spent bashing the game then they hand out an 8? WTF?

see, back in our days... all mulitplayer options were offline. its ok, dont be scared... its actually MORE fun when everybody is playing together in the same room... give it a try someday
I'm not bashing local multiplayer. But if this were on 360 for example and had gampeplay more based on a MP experience. It would have scored VERY low due to it's lack of online play. This is FACT. I've been gaming sinse the NES days. I know all about local MP. Me and the GF also play a lot of split screen games.
As for the guy saying he praised all the games...umm no he didn't. he praised the tennis and frisbee. Virtually every other game he mentioned was followed by the words, not too involving.
So for the Wii a Quality title is
poor graphics compared to what the system is capable of
poor sound
low level of involment in games
MP game with no online component
Variety in the games but most of them are no fun...Just like the first Wii Sports. But as we all know too much variety is a bad thing here at GS.
This all taken straight from the review. Once again I say WTF? I have a Wii and will probably pick this up for the Wii motion +. Then I'll be able to better judge the score. But the video review DOES NOT match the score they gave the game.

Although I agree with you 100% some people will simply never understand this. If a game doesn't have perfect HD textured graphics and a gallon of blood per 20 minutes of gameplay then some people simply won't play it.[QUOTE="Lethalhazard"][QUOTE="Willy105"] What about the other AAA games?ShinobishyguyEh, the only AAAs that interest me on the Wii ATM are SMG, and Twilight Princess. Because if its going to score over a 7 there better be a level of depth and complexity that simply isn't there in Wii Sports resort.

I read the review.
What's the point of your quote? It doesn't improve or devalue the game.
It has enough depth to satisfy the "hardcore" gamers too. I could compare this game to CoD4 very easily. Lackluster single player, amazing multiplayer.Read the review or watch the video. "Can be picked up and enjoyed by all levels of gamers".SMR-Venom

No. How can you compare an AAA FPS to a AA minigame game? They are nothing alike.ive played the Japanese version; its okay. i expected a 6.5 or something. doubt ill buy the US version.

If this game were for PS3 or 360 it would be a flop, less then A title. From what I've seen and heard.
Edit:But as I said I'll reserve throwing my actual score out there till I've given the game a chance. But I'll most likely only own the game to get the WM+ with it.

Indeed it would be a flop for those systems, from what I've played. =S....]That makes no sense if a game is made at a high caliber then it should get a good score. A 10 does not mean a game is perfect it means that there is no improvements which can be made to X games. Mini games are a great genre which many people enjoy myself being one of them. There are many mini-games out there and by giving them a score it helps people like myself knowing which ones are better than others. At least your past no longer trying to say it's not a game. And your right the game has to at least be fun and again that is reflected in the score. You make it sound has though every review just used a dart board and came up with a score.Certain types of games should never achieve certain scores. And games without certain elements should never achieve certain scores. And no game should ever receive a 10 because no game deserves it. That's how I see it.

I just played everything but canoeing, cycling and bowling (because we don't like those the first 2 and knew the 3rd) with my little brother and we had LOTS of fun.
I don't think it will last more than 3 days max but it's definitely better than wiisports and it's not a bad buy if You want Your wiim+.
Edit: ok maybe a week max, because of the unlocks and i would actually like to try bowling and get better at the basketball minigame. I really suck at throwing balls through hoops and i can tell it resembles a real throw quite realistically.

was Wii Sports popular for its online? Clearly not seeing as IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY. Why should Nintendo waste their time on something that the majority of buyers of this game won't care about? Keep in mind, Wii Sports is one of the primary reasons the Wii has sold so well since release as well as the primary reason that the "expanded" audience of "casual" gamers picked a Wii up (you know, the REASON why the Wii is selling twice as good as the 360 or PS3)The lack of online play really turns me off. Seriously, if the had one, i'd pick it up day one. Why the **** didnt they put it in, is it that hard??
Zerocrossings
This is too funny  Though I personally would've enjoyed an online mode, I still want to get the game eventually. HaziqonfireI agree it is very upsetting not having online. I would love to have online with the WIispeak usage. Has it stands I bought the Wiispeak on sale hoping to use it but have yet to need taking it out of it's package.

for all you know, WSR is getting 7's and 8's everywhere instead of 8's and 9's because it doesnt have online play.
if it had online play, it would definately score higher....
in the end, it still got the rating the reviewer thinks it deserves. which is still about the average rating for this game (82 metacritic score)

So not true, I already like SMG. But that's about the only game I like on it. Skydiving and such in a 5 star Resort in a tropical island. It would be cheaper and easier to do what you do in GTA. You get my point. I play games to do stuff that I could never do in real life. To me, that's kind of the point of videogames, to escape reality. But that's not even my biggest reason for not getting the game. I'm still waiting for the next big AAA Wii title to play, since my last AAA Wii purchase was SSBB in freakin' March 2008. I realize Tiger Woods scored a 9.0, but a sports game isn't good enough for me.
