Yes. I'm a student that struggles to find the funds to support my gaming addiction (in Australia, the land of severely overpriced games) & still think the price is barely anything to complain about, especially considering the benefits. Once every year I shell out ~$80 AUS & don't have to worry about it until the next year.. Simple.
Been on xbox live since November 2002 when it launched, I currently have my account paid up till 4/11/2013 so yeah ill pay for xbox live next generation its the best service available on consoles.
Why...? Because of no CGC? lol thats not with $50 a year.XBL is better PSN sucks in comparison IMO.
AnxietyAttack
no reason? what other reason besides the fact covering costs and making profit and the fact they went 8 years without raising it? Seems like pretty good reasons to me......Only if they raise the price again for no reason.

What if it won't sux on PS4? Issue with PS3 was fact that Sony was puting card on Internet freedom and 3rd parties do internet services, but people wanted unified services from them, because of Live. As result they made platfrom that game is not very tied to PSN and it's hard to evolve it with games already on the run. New platfrom opens way to start from 0 and design console and placing PSN in the center.

Its really gonna depend if Sony learns their lesson...something Sony tends not to do till atleast a while later and not imeadiately after they've shown such methods in their tv lines, mp3 players hell music players as a whole...etc..etc I think we will see much of the same thing next generation as we did out of sony and then the one after that they will start copying xbox live hardcore. The way Microsoft is going I won't even buy their next console so no.

Ditto. **** Microsoft.

Ive always believed Sony would start charging, but now im not so sure, theyre complete incompetent when it comes to running an online service so i suspect they just wouldn't have the balls to actually ask people to pay for it.In what ways is X Box Live so far advanced than PSN? You're really going to try and use that in this conversation? I guarantee if Microsoft had the balls to do what Sony did, their asses would've gotten hacked too.

I would think that maybe that's one of the reasons they didn't do what Sony did.[QUOTE="Dibdibdobdobo"][QUOTE="RR360DD"]

No need to ask they can do what they want and the consumer has the choice whether to support or say "NO". Sony will charge next gen too. Get use to it.DibdibdobdoboI have been hearing that one since 2002 basically it change from wait until next year,to wait until next gen, already happen with the PS3,as many pointed in the PS2 days that sony would charge for online play on the PS3,10 years later still fee less and free.

I think that will end up stopping with the PS4 though. SCE needs to start profiting off of PSN and PS+ is the first step in charging for PSN.

2002? charge with what? SOCOM? lol. PS2 era online wasnt big on consoles as this gen and MS have shown the way forward in easy money making. Thats 9 years not 10. WHo said it would happen with PS3?! PSN+ is a service which is charged for so its already started.

While Halo Reach supported 4 players co-op Resistance 2 supported 8.tormentosThe two games coop aren't even comparable. Halo Reach had 4 player coop throught out their entire single player campaign while Resistance 2 has a separate coop campaign run on dedicated servers.Even without dedicated server support,

PSN+ is a service which is charged for so its already started.DibdibdobdoboSocom was actually one of the most popular games online, and Socom 2 logged more played hours than all of live games combined back in the day,it wasn't until Halo 2 came that MS had a game that actually had more users, but it was because Halo 2 was the game to own on xbox and by far the biggest seller the xbox had the rest of the games were ghost towns,in fact if Socom 2 would have sold like Halo 2 the story would have been different. As there were allot more players online on PS2 than on the xbox which only had 2 million live users. 10 the network adapter was release in Japan before the xbox was even launch,in fact the HDD was also release in japan before the xbox landed, which make the PS2 the first console to actually use a HDD not the xbox like some think. PSN+ is not even close to been the same as Live and can't be view as and indication of sony charging for online play,PSN + allow you to play games without paying for them, give you huge discounts, and give you allot more stuff, for a yearly fee games have never been free did i mention it is obtional,so sony is more like selling your stuff cheap,XBL is a rip off where MS force you to pay so you can use the online component of games which is Key lock by MS. What MS is doing with XBL is the same some developers did with some DLC that was included on the disc, and you only payed for a key to unlock it,XBL is just that pay a fee to access content in games that is already there.

The two games coop aren't even comparable. Halo Reach had 4 player coop throught out their entire single player campaign while Resistance 2 has a separate coop campaign run on dedicated servers.Even without dedicated server support, heretrixYeah but firefight is basically the same mode as the one Resistance 2 have, also Resistance 2 support 60 players online Halo Reach 16. May point basically Sony is not incompetent handling online structures,Mag is also a proof of that.
]I'd say given how Sony has handled PSN so far, I think that that would be total fantasy.heretrixReally how it would be a total fantasy, basically Live and PSN had the same features but party chat, and some feature that may be exclusive because MS pay to like ESPN,other that paying for exclusivity i don't see why Sony can't match MS feature for feature, party chat was say to be working on PS3,but a developer stopped from happening because their games did not work with it,that same company threaten MS to pull support is MS did not allow them to kill their games how they wanted to. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/playstation-vita-features-chat-communication-via-party/ I know you should have read this by now,the Vita should give you and idea on what sony may deliver with the PS4,is getting the most love and hyped feature live has party chat and free, which has been like the justification since ever for the fee.
basically Live and PSN had the same features but party chattormentosBut PSN doesn't have party chat, nor does it have universal trophy support, or universal soundtrack support. PSN works fine, but I personally find it to be a bit behind XBL in overall quality. And I've actually used both, so I can make a fairly informed opinion.

Sony seen how much money MS rake in and Sony love copying ideas from other developers as its easier than Researching your own ideas.DibdibdobdoboFresh out of the Oven MS loss patent fight and is order by the supreme court to pay $300 million to i4i a company which MS copy and idea from and infringe his patent. http://rcpmag.com/articles/2011/06/10/supreme-court-denies-ms-patent-reform-argument.aspx All companies copy ideas one from the other, some Side winder line of controller used a similar shape as the PS controller, not only that what other controller before the DS feature rumble build in,2 analogues and 4 buttons on top.? Do you think the xbox 360 controller would even exist if it wasn't for the DS controller.?

So you just pointed out everything which i already stated!! Bit of a waste really of time.
We know Xbox didnt sell well in comparison to PS2. Thats a no brainer. Socom would of sold like Halo?! Thats nothing but opinion which cannot be proven right nor wrong.
Whats a HDD gotta do with anything?! Were on about online gaming. Thats like bringing up brittish history in American History Exam. Heres a useless fact. Nintendo had Side Buttons on controllers 1st. Socom never used HDD nor was HDD exported to the UK region.
Theyre still charging you. So you can play Demo's for free!! That is nothing new, I've been playing Demos on consoles since PSX era. I remember the free Dinoasaur Demo and Mantis Demo and Pandemonium. Huge Discounts?! Thats a opinion. They give you lot more stuff for charging you?! Well that makes sense, I wouldnt pay for something if the freebie offered as much content as the paid for variation.
No both are rip offs but one your trying to defend for whatever fanboy reason there is.
And live doesn't have Home.... All features count pretending that a feature doesn't count because it serve your argument is silly,i can do a hell of allot more things with Home that with Party chat that is a FACT no my opinion.tormentosYep but party chat is better. You seem to be inferring your opinion as fact. Which is funny, considering you don't even use XBL, and can't really speak from experience.
