Dude...I'll be the first to say that the Killzone footage....total lie. I knew from the get-go thats not what the game was going to look like. In that "who are the biggest liars" poll thread....I PICKED SONY.
But I love their exclusives...and I'm not about to let a couple of douchebag PC losers gloat when their own system of choice has its own problems. I don't have allegiance to anyone....I didn't buy a PS3 until a couple of years ago....I've gamed on PC for 10+ years now.

The problem I have with this is that this speaks of "consoles" as if they all have the same performance and we all know that isn't true.
Everyone in this thread is name dropping PS4 as if they have some kind of sticking point on bashing "consoles" when the article only says "consoles", not PS4.
That leads me to believe that they are shooting for some kind of parity between consoles and aiming for lowest common denominator which would be performance based on what the xbox one can achieve not the PS4...otherwise why would you give one performance estimate for two consoles with different performance capability?
PC has the most aaa-aa exclusives, more than the 3 consoles combined, both this and last gen.

Implying you or any other Sony drone would care about Bloodborne if it were multiplat. Bloodborne looks fun, but hyping it past anything more than another Souls, a few months after DS2 came out, is just blindly hyping anything Sony.
Well I'm not worried gonna upgrade and spend as much as it takes to play this silky smooth.
But it looks like they went overboard with this game, they added how much they wanted, insane ammount of detail and features that now they can't optimize it properly. You know, making the game they want to make screams a lot more passion than systematically dropping sequels every year.
I'm not complaining, I wish more devs were like this. Sure they will reach that coveted 30fps on consoles.
People seem to forget with don't actually have next gen only multiplats yet. Besides EA UFC, i don't believe there's any other multiplatform game without a last gen version.
When you compare Black Flag or Watch Dogs to games like Unity or Witcher 3, you can see the increased level or detail, assets, map size, etc.
I've seen noticing this for a couple of weeks now. I think games lie Unity, TW3 and even Batman AK will be good benchmarks to see if either console can actually process the games at 1080p without large sacrifices. Obviously, this will be temporary has devs start to get more familiar with them, and i expect 1080p to be possible eventually, if that where to happen. Even with the pc architecture.
However, if neither console can reach 1080p, i'll have a good laugh with the PS4 fanbase after all the mocking of 900p for the xb1. It might be WD all over again.

So it's not that the game is so demanding your pitiful console can't run it properly, it's that "the game is broken"...right. Also, here's an observation...the people who say frame rate & resolution don't matter or are "just numbers" are console fanboys. Seeing a pattern here?
If an R7 265 can run Far Cry 3 at Ultra setting with 4xMSAA while averaging 33FPS and dropping no lower than 27FPS (Source) then there is no reason that with the correct tweaks to in game settings that the PS4 cannot run W3 at 1080p with a solid 30FPS.
The blurring from upscaling an image degrades the entire picture, it makes textures, shadows, aliasing etc worse. Reducing those settings down a small fraction and getting to 1080p is better for overall IQ than increasing those settings and dropping to 900p or lower. I bet 1080p with FXAA and 30FPS with good quality settings should be achievable on the PS4.

The Witcher 3 looks stupid demanding. A steady framerate without screen tearing is what they need to shoot for. 900p or 720p is livable for a game like this on consoles. It won't matter to me, though. I'm getting it for PC with a high end 800 series card.

Far Cry 3 is still one of the best looking PC games you can buy. If you can get that level of IQ in an open world game using an R7 265 then regardless of engine or developers that should be what CDProjekt Red are targeting in terms of optimisation at a minimum. I would expect Ultra in Far Cry 3 to be more roughly aligned with Medium (perhaps High) in W3 with even higher settings available to take advantage of GPU advancements but that level of IQ is achievable with that grade of GPU performance so coming in under this baseline would be a disappointment.
The R7 265 and the PS4 GPU are almost exactly the same in performance metrics. It is the closest analogue to the PS4 GPU you can get, if you were to stick the PS4 GPU into a discrete card and then compare it to the R7 265 the differences would be within the margin of error, you are talking +/- 2%.
If W3 has similar IQ to Far Cry 3 Ultra, at 1080p and manages a stable 30 FPS on the PS4 then that is a job well done for CDProjekt Red, if it ends up a behind that level of IQ then not so much.

Really interested in seeing how the PS4 version of The Witcher 3 stacks up against Infamous: Second Son. Obviously, the PC version will pulverize both.
