GT has never had Porsche, it has RUF. GT5 will have RUF, which is exactly the same as Porsche, so this is a pointless thread.

No one can defend PD for this, Porsche should be in GT5, just like Alfa romeo should have been in Forza1/2, but T10 addressed this with Forza 3.racing1750Porsche has license contract with EA, and EA can make sub-licenses for other companies (Turn10 is an exemple). Of course they're not giving sub-licenses for the juggernaut competitor.
[QUOTE="Rza_rectah"]
this game doesn't need Porsche
Tezcatlipoca666
All racing sims need a 911 GT2 imo :P
that and the 911 GT 3 RS will be missed.[QUOTE="racing1750"]No one can defend PD for this, Porsche should be in GT5, just like Alfa romeo should have been in Forza1/2, but T10 addressed this with Forza 3.WassmansdorffPorsche has license contract with EA, and EA can make sub-licenses for other companies (Turn10 is an exemple). [QUOTE="Vasichko"]So RUF recieving unmarked chassis, bodies, engines, etc from Porsche doesnt designate it a Porsche at heart? Saleen is still a Mustang no matter how you wanna describe a S281.racing1750At the end of the day it's not a proper porsche. Its better than Porsche.

But Porsche is the one being dumb, they make this stupid full contract with EA instead of getting massive free marketing for being in GT5.
[QUOTE="Asim90"]Can i drive some of porsches greatest cars, such as the Carrera GT? nope so this thread isn't pointless.GT has never had Porsche, it has RUF. GT5 will have RUF, which is exactly the same as Porsche, so this is a pointless thread.

Thats a fair point, it would be nice to see some of those but I'm guessing its because contract issues. If Polyphony were able to include Porsche, I'm sure they would. The reason I'm not too bothered is because I'm really looking forward being able to finally drive Lamborghinis.
[QUOTE="Kennysolidsnake"]
I mean seriously PD?! lol, 6 years in development and GT5 wont even have Porsches?! WOW, polyphony is becoming a huge joke. I mean its only Porsche, i cant imagine it would be hard to have it in the biggest racing simulator. GT5 better be something special, the news gets worse everyday about this game. I wouldnt be suprised its not complete vaporware and wont ever release.
Chutebox
Who are you trying to kid?
Anyways, one automaker not in a game with so many damn cars is not a big deal.
THIS^
Eh i've never liked Porsche. To me Porsches have always been the car that a man gets when he makes good money, but not good enough money to buy something cool. Alot like corvettes.
Anyway why is everyone complaining about porsche when you get to drive the superior ferrari?
Now all cows will pretend that Porsche sucks.
RawDeal_basic
And all lemmings will pretend Porsche is some game-defining element.

The DC in this thread is comical. Porsche is one of the most celebrated auto manufacturers in the world in terms of both their street and race cars, and they are the manufacturer of hands-down the most iconic sports car in the world, the 911. There simply is no excuse for "the real driving simulator" -- a game that's already cost more than $60 million dollars -- to not break out the cheque book for Porsche.

Well if you think about it, it really isint that big of a deal.
Even if the game did have porsche, the only cars I would drive are the 911 GT3 and the Carrera GT. The only one I will miss is the Carrera GT, which is one of my favorite cars ever...
Remember, they have porsches that have been tuned by tuning companies, just like it was on GTPSP. If they have a tuned Carrera GT, which itself is already amazing, I would love it.
[QUOTE="Sky-"]Oh no, the Porsche! Personally, I don't think it is as big of a deal as you make it out to be.carljohnson3456Pretty sure this is the same guy who said he wasnt going to buy the game because it's been delayed so much... so yeah...
...And the same guy who switches his views on sony and microsoft on an hourly basis.

With a quick google search it appears they've owned it for over a decade. That's why they released games like Need For Speed: Porsche Challenge on the PS1 and have it in all other NFS's.GT NEVER had porsches, do your homework kids[QUOTE="GTR2addict"][QUOTE="gamecubepad"]
Is this true? What a friggin' joke. That's like not having Lambo's or Ferrari's in the game.
gamecubepad
Yet, FM3 does. How hard is it to get some Porsche models into the game?
Maybe they're spending too much time wrestling with the Cell to bother including world famous cars in the game.
Because they don't need a license or anything to put it in the game. :roll:I don't really care, I'm ok with just RUF. I'm just looking forward to revving that mazda 787B wankel engine though:D

Theres a 1000 posts topic about Porsche license in GTPlanet, and some people got answers from Porsche representants by email.I think a more ridiculous thing, and this isn't just in GT5 but most racing simulators, why the hell do they put things like a Ford Fiesta in? Surely the idea is to be able to drive insane cars that you could never possibly dream of driving, rather than cars your grandad probably owns.bobbetybob...the problem is GT isn't a racing simulator, there's your explanation [QUOTE="racing1750"] RUF isn't Porsche. RUF's are supped up porsches with altered bodies
Now all cows will pretend that Porsche sucks.
RawDeal_basic
and all 360 nut huggers will pretend that not having Porsche ends all chances the game has of being decent.
Atleast they have 1000 other cars.[QUOTE="danish-death"][QUOTE="Kennysolidsnake"] This is Porsche we are talking about, not some no name like Puegot or Citroen. Any serious racing sim must have porscheTheOwnerOner

This may be true, but Porsche is still a big name.I don't really remember Porsche being in GT. But GT does use RUF which is a manufacturer that uses Porsche chassis/bodies and custom make the engines.
here are some examples

Here you go
I would like to see lots of BMW in GT5 :D
tc, i highly recommend you stop reading videogame related news. everytime you read one article that is somewhat negative, you make a big crybaby diary entry over something extremely minute. just chill out, and play the game when it comes out.
You might be interested to know that Kazunori Yamauchi said this at a CES 2010 interview about the Tokyo Auto Salon event:
"Yes, my team and I will be there. We're planning to have one of the biggest GT5 displays we've ever built. There will be more manufacturer agreements announced there as well. It'll be a great show for us."
You never know, Porsche might be announced?
