Wow, new Game Informer Top 200 of all time list is polarizing.

Im not listing all 200 obviously, but I will list some system wars favorites and some shockers(?)

1. The legend of Zelda

2. Super Mario Bros.

3. Tetris

4. GTA3

5. Half-Life 2

8. Final Fantasy III (Snes)

9. Super Mario 3

10. Ms. Pac Man

Now some notables...

20. OOT (and was the 3rd highest ranked zelda game in back of Link to the past at 12.

15. FF7 (thats gonna make a few people upset :) )

39. Halo CE

Both MGS1 (19) and MGS2 (50) fared better than MGS4 (108 ) which was also beaten on the same page by Batman AA (104)

I actually agree with a lot of their list, and especially their top 100. For example, FF6 really does belong abouve FF7.

Some games though got way too low...but I guess no matter where the game falls, the top 200 games of all time is a very exclusive list.

Batman Arkham Asylum was an eyebrow-raiser. It's a great game, but not one of the top 200. I was also surprised by Borderlands, and while I think it might deserve a spot amongst those games, it's a bit to early to label it a classic.

lol @ yall haters. most of yall probably couldnt think up a top 200 list if you sat around for a while, much less get it posted anywhere that anybody would care about it. these lists are just kind of fun op eds, and much like all gaming journalism, should never be taken seriously. you are obviously going to have some issues with it, since whatever crap games you like might not be in the position you want. go put your own top 200 on your blog where nobody will read it. i think 'polarizing' would be an excellent way to describe a list like this if most gamers were able to see what somebody was saying beyond "OMFG my fav game isnt above x other game, garbage list"

i think some of the choices were interesting, and actually agree with quite a few of the chices. some of them are a bit ballsy (borderlands? really?). it was nice to see somebody who doesnt bend over for oot for once as well. they upped some under-recognized classics (homeworld, panzer dragoon saga, thps2, x-wing). i do feel there are some games on there that dont belong (esp. xenosaga ep 1), and i would shuffe some around, but for such a comprehensive undertaking i must say this is one of the better efforts ive seen in a while.

They might both be in my top 5, and I also liked Jade Empire alot aswell (Why don't people like this game? :( ), but I would give Dragon Age the edge over both of them, it more or less builds on what KotOR had, and improves upon it in many ways for me.

EDIT: Some intresting choices though. Alot of classics missed out, but then that's bound to happen. These top 100/200 lists are just a bad idea, they never really give you a solid representation seeing as alot ofgames get forgotten and missed out, atleast I would think so anyway. A top 10 is generally a better idea. On the flip side top 100 lists are more entertaining.

okay just read it and seriously wtf, no sign of any of the banjo games, Perfect Dark, any of the Donkey Kong Countries, heck not even (unless I missed it) any of the pokemon games other then the orignal. I mean seriously wth's up with that :?

I was bored through most of the game (except the zombie town part and the super gravity gun part) when I played it on my old (now dated) gaming PC.

I can think of many better games. The original probable deserves the spot more.

Mass Effect and KOTOR don't even belong on the list--period.
