Wow, 720 is looking be so advanced. I am glad Microsoft isn't going casual like all the biased cows would lead you to believe.

Sony simply can't afford to take losses on the hardware like MS.
The PS4 is going to get killed out there.

You, reach3, phonemaggot, jimmpsn, forzadirtface really need to pull out of each other's butthurt butthole, really.
I've never seen such unprecedented lemming turd in my entire life. Seriously, go outside and let your zits breathe some fresh air.
Oh btw, why aren't you and the rest of the angry lemming turds playing the games you claim you have?
What he sais is true though..A lot of games will not use Kinect and simply leave it with a very high powered CPU.They would need a powerful CPU for the built in Kinect sensor. A big problem with kinect is that it's very CPU dependent and it sucks away a lot of the power from the game.

A lot of games will not use Kinect and simply leave it with a very high powered CPU. I wonder why they are using such a powerful cpu. I dont think even the best GPU could take advantage of a CPU this powerful.....and wouldnt 16 cores make it hard for devs vs a 4 core one?[QUOTE="Wasdie"]

Actually, this generation it hasn't been CPU power that has bottlenecked games. A very powerful CPU is pointless if they don't have the ram and the GPU.
I'll tell you right now, they aren't going to drop some mid-ranged PC GPU into the 720 if they want it to cost under $600.
dem kinect titles must need a lot of procesing power, i mean those vader hip moves need real time physics.
16 core by itself means nothing, modern GPUs have 100smarkop2003
The Nvidia GTX 480 has 480 cores! But the thing is that CPU's are faster and that's why they are still necessary. When we start seeing GPU's with a clock speed of at least 2GHZ then CPU's will disappear and that's not good for Intel. That's why they keep investing is faster CPU with more cores, to stay relevant and give performance that GPUs cannot achieve by themselves.

i agree and the mods go banning people for saying something they don't like but let these scrubs fill the forums with 88484654894654687468 sh1t threads.
I highly doubt it with their current trajectory of going after markets.http://asia.cnet.com/xbox-720-to-ship-with-insanely-powerful-cpu-62214281.htm

Well at launch Xbox 360 had the best graPhics. And to this day it still has better graphics than your budget emachineit'll be 3rd place for gfx, just like this gen.

Cpu's arent faster then GPU's when it comes to rendering or doing parallel processing. For example a i7 2600k at 4.8 ghz only can do 98 GFLOPS while a measly 8600GT can do 110 GFLOPS. Cpu's are made to direct and process data for rest of the PC, and having a 16 core cpu is pointless for supplying a gpu that one sixth the performance of a GTX 480. if they have a 16 core cpu it will most likely be for motion control processing.[QUOTE="Wasdie"][QUOTE="phonemug"]A lot of games will not use Kinect and simply leave it with a very high powered CPU.

Sony will still probably have the most impressive hardware of the 3 , they are a tech company and there way back to the promised land is making high end hardware not cheap crap.

What does a 6670 have to do with anything? U are an idiot if u think the next Xbox will ship with a 2 1/2 year old GPU. That would be like Xbox 360 having been shipped with a ATI 9600 :DSuch a CPU doesn't exist. And even if it did, it would make the console too expensive. Next Xbox will most likely have a 6-core processor at best.

That would be like Xbox 360 having been shipped with a 9800 Pro :DYeah but a modern GPU is MUCH more costly then the GPU's of the olden days, so expecting the 720 to get any sort of truly powerful GPU is also an expectation for it to cost $600 or more. Plus this is just more speculation, fanboys claiming some rumors are true just because other people say it. I'll believe the 720 has a super powerful GPU when they reveal it and tell me what the GPU is and it actually IS super powerful.
heh, it is going to be awesome in sw when they finally reveal the new cpu and it will be something that the equivalent to was available on pc last year.

9800 Pro was $500 and high end at the time. So that was actually a bad comparison in my part. Xbox 720 shipping with a 6670 is more like Xbox 360 having been shipped with a ATI 9500 Pro which was probably around $200 at the time.[QUOTE="2_Quiet_2_Riot"][QUOTE="groverslanding"]

That would be like Xbox 360 having been shipped with a ATI 9600 :D Na the next xbox would be getting a gpu thats two gens ahead ie Direct x 11, along with 4x the memory and 3x the performance of the 360's gpu. MS will not be using a much better gpu then 6670/7670 anything higher needs more power and cooling which raises the costs.anyways, whatever cpu or gpu they toss in this xbox it doesnt really matter... I won't be buying a 360 till at least a year or more after its release. I've had bad launch systems dating back to the first xbox in 2001... then again in 2005 with the 360.
Maybe microsoft will release a solid piece of hardware from the start, who knows...
