[QUOTE="superclocked"]The PS4 GPU is 50% more powerful than the XBox One GPU, and the XBox One GPU is 33% less powerful than the PS4 GPU. Because PS3 was way more difficult to develop for. This won't be the case with the PS4.Yeah on paper and same with 360 & PS3 but it didn't stop MS from besting Sony this gen.

Xbox was a nobody, and the PS2 tore shit up, even as the inferior of the two.
Then why are numbers floating around if it isn't certain? And thank you for replying like a civilized human. ShaineTheNerdIts more likely all PR marketing sony must think that its design/specs give them an edge over what is know of the xbox one other wise they wouldn't mention it. Though if the shoe was on the other foot and ms had a stronger position ms exec wouldn't be saying stuff like "Specs Don't Matter" so there might some truth to it.

MS would be talking up specs. It's all about talking up what you got.
Weaker hardware isn't that big a deal really, especially in this case. We'll see better looking PS4 games, but the difference isn't a Wii to 360, its more like 360 to Wii U.
The bigger deal is in actuality the ease of development between the two boxes. Speaking from professional experience, Sony's machine is just easier to develop for right now. However, if MS does even half of what Sony did between 2008-2010 to get 3rd party development streamlined on their development environment, this could be an issue MS ends up mitigating in 2015.

Let me refresh you damn memory since your bias doesn't let you remember well what happen between the xbox and PS2.
The xbox one and Ps4 will launch this year both very close, one is stronger than the other while been cheaper, now lets compare this to last gen.
The PS2 launch on March 4 2000,when it launch it was the most powerful console and was more powerful than most $1500 dollar PC as well, the xbox was release on November 2001,as you can see the PS2 was the strongest console on the market for 20 months, until the xbox arrived,by the time the xbox arrived the PS2 had like 22 million units sold and had a super line up of games here are some of the games Halo had to compete with on 2001.
GT3 which was high rated.
GTA3 which was high rated and a huge successful hit.
MGS2 which was again high rated.
FFX which was also high rated.
DMC high rated as well, and a truck load of fillers that were also good.
The xbox was so out gunned it wasn't even funny to compare it with the PS2,now this year the xbox and PS4 release and both have good games the xbox one doesn't have a huge advantage like the PS2 did.
The same could be say about teh N64 and the PS1,when the N64 arrived it was to late.
The whole 300,000 will be ready for 2015 not this holiday, the whole cloud is a hoax, and is just dedicated servers for games, which even the Ps3 has had in greater quantity than xbox live.
1) The PS2 hit 10 million during holiday 2001, not 22 million
2) "the whole cloud is a hoax". LOL. I use SQL Azure and MS's cloud computing for Exchange. Cloud computing is not a joke; and it is not "just dedicated servers". For someone who rants on forums as if he is a tech expert, you sure are woefully ignorant about a whole of subjects.
3) "which even the Ps3 has had in greater quantity than xbox live" Wow. Really? You think that? Whoa...
[QUOTE="metal_zombie"][QUOTE="ShaineTheNerd"] I accept it's weaker, I just want at least fact, if that's not too much to ask. Sony hasn't been clear about a lot of things. They have not said if they are going to reserve cores for OS functions; and if so, how many. They have not said how much RAM the OS will take up, either.

I wonder why?My thoughts are that I'm glad I have a gaming PC and can get both of the new consoles so I don't have to spend every day talking about which console is marginally better.Specifications show superiority
As part of a question and answer session on Reddit, an Xbox One developer has admitted that the PlayStation 4 is more powerful than Microsofts machine. Despite this, the operating system engineer noted that the size of the gulf in performance is still up for debate, and that the games on the Redmond-based companys console look excellent regardless.
Davekeeh
The facts are on paper, the PS4 has better specs, and the most that you can debate is by how much, said the refreshingly candid employee. What I can tell you is that I have played Forza Motorsport 5, Killer Instinct, and Ryse on the Xbox One, and they look as good as the games that I play on a high-end PC. Ryse reminded me of Darksiders II.
Earlier in the year, Digital Foundry declared that the PS4 is the more powerful of the two machines, too. However, despite plenty of confidence on Sonys part, its not yet clear what practical advantages these hardware enhancements will provide. Well probably have to wait until both systems are readily available before we're able to decipher any noticeable differences.

what u r saying makes no sense. the gamecube and xbox both came with stronger consoles and a strong library of games, and still ended up getting outsold by over 40mil. not counting the 25-30mil that the ps2 had sold b4 they even hit the market. on the flipside. the wii chased down and dominated the 360 worldwide while the ps3 sold nearly the same amount.[QUOTE="tormentos"][QUOTE="AD216"]

Fresh from celebrating the sale of its 20 millionth PlayStation 2 console, Sony has used the Tokyo Game Show -- which closed Sunday -- to unveil versions of the PS2 game console in a range of colors other than the traditional black.

By October 2001 already sony had sold 20 million units not 10,in fact 10 million were sold the first 12 months, which double in just 7 more months, the PS2 sold 100 million in 5 years basically 20 million per year.
Â
Is a joke because aside from some very minor things it will not serve for much, funny how the xbox one hardware is suppose to be latency free, yet it will draw raw power from a latency plague internet connection..
Â
Thew cloud is for dedicated servers not for increasing the xbox one power from 10 xbox 360 to 40 xbox 360 like MS claim,if you only knew just a little basic on how graphics work you would not believe it for a second.
The PS3 had more games on dedicated servers than xbox live,in fact few are the developers that run their games on dedicated servers and not P2P MS did not allow every one to do that, aside from EA and some very few companies.

The PS4 has 2 CPU..
The ram was leak to be 512MB but raise to 1GB probably for future proof, and the PS4 doesn't have 3 OS.

again, the XBOX 360 had a YEAR head start. same as the ps2 basically although the ps2 had a few more months than that. yet the ps3 is right there and the wii has undeniably dominated this gen. my point was that even after those 2 consoles were released, the ps2 outsold them by 40+ million. not saying that it sold 40mil but that the ps sold over 70mil compared to 30mil. on the flipside, the 360 was blown away by the wii regardless of the year head start. i never stated anything about the wii u.

The 360 also had the RROD, and came off of the terrible showing of the original Xbox, and was $500. It never got a commanding lead in the market because of those factor (better than the WiiU is likely to get, but still not impressive). Wii came in as the cheapest of the 3 by far and dipped into a totally new market which is saturated now (as it's choking at the end of the gen is testiment too). That's what gave it the lead more than anything else. In fact, that 360 did as well as it did is testiment to it's power. It went against the much cheaper Wii which it has been outselling and wii, and the PS3 which was coming in off a HUGE success. Despite that it managed to hold its own.
Power isn't the end all be all, it combines with other factors definitely. But, this time out, power is going to be a big player, especially with Nintendo stumbling so badly.
