When people spend money on xbox and buy digital items from ea , microsoft profits from this and there's a lot more money spend on fifa on the xbox.

Literally, everything. A Gen 6 sized install base will not be enough bait on the hook to lure exclusives. MS has had to back-track to their PC platform in order to get what games they do have. Without that, as well as the atomic fire-sales of the console, the XBox would be Dreamcasted. Even as it is, it would seem that it is on borrowed time bought and paid for handsomely by Microsoft shareholders.

This is the first time I hear about those games so I hardly think they are system sellers. I live in Europe and everyone I know who has a console has a PS4 and everyone here buys Fifa games. Very few people care about this.

I don't know what age group you're in but fifa ultimate team is pretty big, did you know that ea's stock went up ten times the price the year when they released those legends. Of course, the revenue not only came from these legends, ultimate team is quite successfull overall, but there biggest earning came from digital sales with ultimate team, not only fifa though, also madden nba and nhl, and of course revenue from other games like battlefield but most money came from fifa ultimate team.

Soccer is big money, there's a belgian soccer player here that went to play in china for 100 million euro (110 usd) a year. These guys are in the game, but it isn't just their name, these guys are 3d scanned and givin stats so they would play lifelike in the game and every year ea is making the game better. You honestly don't think these guys do this for free, not to mention the royalties they have to pay to fifa.

It's especially more difficult to make the legends play like they did. Some of the are a lot older than in their prime (one of them is even passed away). Of course they have the advantage that some of these players were already 3d scanned a decade ago.

Not everybody spends big money on this game of course, but that's why I compared it with a ford and a ferrari, how much do people spend on a playstation 100- 200$ a year. Serious ultimate team player easily spend 500 euro + a year, just on fifa.

ps4 really is the return of the king. Fitting as playstation has always crushed and destroyed everything in its path with the exception of the ps3

When there are 3 new consoles in less than 3-4 years of their existence, you know that the consoLOLes are dying. Couple this with the fact that they are nowhere close to the numbers they pulled previous gens. Oh and who said about the whole industry flopping, ConsoLOLes =/= gaming industry. It's Don Mattrick's fault, he screwed everything up with the whole "TV TV TV" focus of the Xbone, closing down studios last gen, and DRM policies they tried to implement this gen with the Xbone reveal. He pretty much destroyed all the good will the Xbox franchise built last gen. Now they are back to square one and are struggling. This is not the time to be struggling, they should be growing instead of shrinking.
