Hopefully GT5s lengthy development was a one time disaster. It should be easy to transistion to GT6 given the huge library of quality assets they already have.

The stupendous development time for GT5 was the engine, highly optimized and up to date apparently so it was only natural they'd squeeze in another title and not waste their Cell Optimized engine since Sony is ditching the Cell next time around.

people bash GT5 even when Kaz already said it took them a long time to create the engine and build up assets. besides, Polyphony is only 140 people. also, Santa Monica built God Of War 3's engine after they did God of War 1 (which came out in 2005). so clearly, it also took Santa Monica some time to build a new engine from scratch.

One usually comes within the first year. We didn't get the FIRST one this gen until 5 years into the gen... which ends later this year. I'm sorry to "break your tears" but we won't see another one on the PS3. Unless Polyphony finally decides to outsource some of the grunt work.

Awesome stuff! I loved GT5 and loved Forza 4 too. I want PD to release a more 'complete' game though.

While it had a lot of content, everything felt a bit half arsed when you really look at it.

Odd decisions regarding standard cars (why the heck can't I just browse all of them?), too much grinding in career, technical inconsistencies, game modes which simply feel like a teaser rather than a full fledged feature (Nascar, Rally were not taken advantage of nearly as much as they should have been).

And please make a better menu system.....

Yamauchi has said on every interview that they started development on GT6 right after GT5 came out but I don't think it'll be a tittle for this gen. I mean, have you seen all the content that GT5 has, specially the GT5 XL Edition? What else can they possibly add to that game? The only thing I can think of is more aerodynamic customizations for the cars and more cars but nothing more.

GT5 physics are the closest to reality that you can achieve with current gen hardware which is the main point of this series and that's why I don't think we'll see another one so fast.

That's another release I'm looking forward to. With that on either 360 (or Wii U), Forza Horizon and GT6 I expect to be playing a lot of racing titles in the next year or so.

uhhh...we will. my argument is more true than yours anyway. fact is, there's been 2 GT games every gen. release date is irrelevant. just because we didn't get a GT 4 years in (yes, 4. PS3 released in 2006, GT5 released 2010, learn to count), doesn't mean we won't get another GT game.

Doubtful, it's just a public website that cached that one guy worked on GT6 which we all already know is being worked on.. I can't see this being the big surprise but maybe the surprise is footage and a trailer with more details? Suits me fine!

You can make up all of the BS excuses you want but the fact is GT5 was a mess, they wasted time on a PSP version and that Prologue crap and was took to school by Turn 10. Nothing you come up with changes that. Turn 10 built the Forza 3 engine in a few months. Polyphony Digital has used the same tracks and boring ass career structure forever. PD gives you a carwash, Turn 10 gives you infinite Custom options. GT is a pile of $hit. You Cows just do not have enough balls to admit it.

I'm not sure what that game is but I suppose it's for the PC? But I'm talking about PS3 hardware because of course PC has more room to improve physics.

And I saw on google that is coming out for the Wii U too and since that console it's supossed to be more powerful than current gen consoles then it's only logical that it can do more advanced physics. Remember that GT5 waste lots of resources on the 1280X1080p resolution, 60frames and HDR (GT5 has one of the most advanced lighting on consoles). And for the PS3 that's overkill, PD is already pushing the system to its limits and even if GT6 comes out there's no much room for improvements.... At least nothing they can't do through online updates like they have been doing all this time.

I strongly disagree with it being a pile of sh*t, but the development cycle of GT5 shows that Sony really need to push PD to hire more staff.

Here my Argument OK. Aside from the cars (Well, some of them, the game looks average. Part of that is the same tracks they have used since the original. But Forza, Grid, PGR, and even Shift 2 has better tracks. Online- There is nothing really wrong with it but there is nothing really great about it either that stands out. The career structure- They found a way to bore you to death and they have decided to improve on it to make you slice your wrist faster. Dirt and Shift proves you can make the career interesting. Or go the Forza and PGR route and add different types of events. Back to the cars- Some of the cars on GT5 shows they saw the competition and gave up on GT5. There is no way in hell Codemasters or Turn 10 would release a game with cars from the PS2. No way. They would of released the cars that should of been released and made the others available later instead of doing a bunch of BS to raise the car count to look better on the game box. Another thing- If they are this behind Codemasters and everyone on how to create a game that is fun instead of recycling old data into a new engine perhaps they should hire more people. The president of PD has about 50 cars he owns. How many does he need? Hire more god damn people! Weather effects- PGR4 came out how long ago and still looks better on the weather effects. I feel bad for people who were dumb enough to spend $40 on Prologue. But everyone saw the GT5 review were almost every reviewer said it did not look as good as it should, PD took all kinds of shortcuts, They have fallen behind the other car games on the market.......I don't feel sorry for them and I do not feel sorry for Cows who have to get on a forum and lie to themselves about the game being great when they know it isn't. And since most Cows on here have never actually played the 360 they would not know. You will get the Cows like arkephonic who will get on here and swear til his face is blue that GT5 is a better game than say PGR4......But everyone in this forum should know by now who to listen to and who they should ignore when it comes to advice on games and their opinions.

Yeah I definitely agree that PD made some very weird design decisions which hampered it as a game. The gameplay is solid for the most part, but I'll be honest in saying that I find it hard to play for extended periods now, simply due to odd decisions.

GT5 is so awesome , I really don't need a new one right now. But ill still have to buy it. Looking foward to any tweaks poly makes to driving wheels. (GT5 with racing wheel is amazing. The cars handle so lifelike)

Man you guys are so funny with your comments about it coming out in 2018, so original

The engine has been made already, expect the game to either come out next year or the year after.

GT5's delays were ridiculous, but they should get on the right track now.

At least they aren't milking the franchise *cough*Forza*cough*

They would if they could.

Agreed on the release window though.

So far there have been 2 GT's per console, I don't expect anything different from them now.
