The Japanese market is very different in this instance. Japanese Culture is much different from American culture. Sony and Square have such a close working business relationship that its practically blasphemy and a disgrace to even consider porting games to other platforms, even if it means the ruin of one company. Thats not really applicable to the PC though, because SOny could potentially make profit off of that.Vandalvideo

SALES had something to do with that. Hermits like point and click games, RTS, FPS, and WRPGs. They don't give a crap about JRPGs or Fighters.

The only other explanation is because there wasn't enough vested interest in the game from PC gamers to begin with. How'd they gauge this? Maybe P.O.Ss (Public opinion surveys) or special interest groups.Vandalvideo

ff8 is a good reason. square enix said any further titles on pc depends upon sales of ff8, which was not much i guess because we didn't see any further (non-mmo) title from them

Not enough market. It's like with simulators or PC adventure games...there's no market for them on consoles. When there is demand companie will follow..hence why jRPGs are console-centric, but when any of those companies make MMO it's always on PC (and PC one is the main version, to be specific sometimes there'seven no console version for their MMOs)
