The Patriots are undefeated and beat the hell out of any and every team yet they have a weakness of running the ball and stopping the run. Just because they still win my large margins despite having that weakness doesn't mean its not a weakness. You aren't gonna tell me that since they are #1 against the pass and piss poor against the run that their poor RUN DEFENSE is a preference because they are so good at PASS DEFENSE. A weakness is a weakness. This has nothing to do with preference. The games in this genre do no exist in a modern fashion on PC, PRESENT TIME, PERIOD.

That's what I was thinking. Just because PC doesn't have a couple genre's on lock doesn't mean its not the best game platform. Those genre's it is lacking it is lacking for a reason. Its not cause it can't do it, it's because PC gamers pretty much hate those genres on a large scale.MadExponent

It wouldn't matter much if those missing genres weren't popular but that's not the case. JRPGs sell huge numbers in Japan and abroad; fighters sell substantial amounts too and are still popular in arcades worldwide. Especially in Japan, where professional tournaments are still being held today.

Being the 'best game platform' should imply that it appeals to fans of any genre and have enough titles in each to satisfy. Neither consoles or PCs fit the criteria so that title can only be opinionated.

The genres in question that the PC is lacking (fighters and jrpgs) are not missed by most PC gamers as far as I know. I don't see any game on any system being a weakness, but certain genres are not on PC because the games released on PC are subject to the tastes of PC gamers. If PC gamers actually wanted said genres then we'd have them.

when i bought a ps2 hearing how many good games it had, and when i actually started buying them most of the high rated games were jrpgs and fighters which were crap to me.

these genres may be popular but they are not actually popular on pcs. sameways rts are popular but not popular on consoles.

secondly, being the best platform means being strong in the largest number of genres rather than supporting all (its best platform, not perfect platform)
