I intend to view this run quite soon but for now I have to wait for Eternal.

I have done a GoW1 speedrun recently with the exploits from satvara, Akheon, kevbew63. Maybe it's not new to you who have seen their videos on youtube. But I see there isn't a whole run with these exploits recorded yet, so I do it myself.
The final time is 1:05:11, God mode. I will upload it to youtube later if they don't mind.

Very nice. I look foward to it.
All parts are uploaded now:

Maybe it's possiable to complete in 1 hour. I didn't use the Poseidon's sacrifice skip because it's too difficult for me. And I find that in some areas there is a "loading" period which will take a couple seconds, press select before that areas for a while to let PS2 load these areas will save some time, but I didn't know it before, I just do it in the very last parts after I know that. And my GoW1 rolling skill is not very good, maybe there is still a few time can be saved if I roll perfectly.
So it was due to difficulty. Should have read this first. Satvara found a new skip that makes even the work kevbew did to speed up the Oracle saving...useless. That guy is a busy boy.
~Saw and commented on the whole run. Nice job. If I were an officer, I'd add it to the list...
fightmastermax
I am speechless after watching that skip...... I believe that he can finish GoW in less than 1 hour.
shenminiu: Understandable. He is quite good at GoW1 and exploiting the environment.
MistryMan: It doesn't always give me that info either. I have to check in or look around for such updates often enough.
CoO
Now the High Jump use I found (shown by Shinobier) has company. At the door (pulled off its henges) by the Satyr Grenadiers, I was able to use High Jump times 4-5 to get over the gate. WHO HA! Still unable to get over real barriers though..been high enough that the game's screen freaked out though...
Also, when on a slope leading towards water, a last second roll on land into water will rocket Kratos through it.
NOTE: I didn't get a chance to try this out pre-Triton's Lance. Please test this (to all it concerns...Shinobier...Alucard)
I'll continue testing until I get him. It's nice that I can save >_>
Prisonbaby? What brings you back here?
Technically, isn't that a double post?
Good to hear you got a memory card though.
Snake: I was using a different location/IP so prisonbaby decided to grace us with his presence. That avatar alone says it all
Yes and no. You've gotta love it. It's even better if you use the GS side of an account to post first then the GFAQs side (or vice versa)..double posting like that is just...great.
And that I've been a busy boy..I tried very hard to clear one of the varous spell trials but failed in each. I couldn't clear ANY of the fate barriers. They were all over 6 HJs in height. That's the MAX you can do with that version. Pity.
addaminsain: So you've not met prisonbaby? He's a great guy. You should check out his craptacular banner of WIN.
NOTE: I've been up for well over 24 hours now so I don't quite have the proper spirits for progressing through God (CoO). I quickly cleared the Challenges and Normal again to play catch-up though.

prisonbaby
indeed.. i missed satyr grenadiers part.. i could have saved good 3-4 mins there.
i also happened to find out that rocket swimming trick but i thought it was game error and removed it from videos. so it wasn't just once in a while error i suppose..
darn.. new things are always coming out later on. it looks like CoO can be done under 1:50 with better planning + high jumps.. it's too bad we can't jump over barriers.. maybe there might be more crazy exploits like gow since CoO seems pretty buggy here and there.. tough luck.. =)
You should practice doing back to back High Jumps like I did for getting over it. Basically Launch to air grab to leap (you can double jump but distance from the target and to a lesser extent the ground..matters when trying to air grab again) air grab to leap to air grab....repeat until sufficiently high. All while being positioned by the gate. I'm just glad I didn't quite trying.
Indeed it can be repeated. I still don't know if it can be done pre-Trition's Lance though.
That's just how it goes. Those barriers are giant invisible cock blocks. It's possible there will be more goodness in the future but what I need for hope happens to be wall clipping..with that..I'd feel fairly secure in saying there is a lot more we could be doing.
This post is to help CoO Speedrunners. (Ex: Shinobier) These are a few little things I've noticed throughout my latest run. A few HJ locations, checkpoint/restart exploits, etc. Some of these will be of no use, others will be invaulable. I'll leave it to future runners to decide which is which. As of right now, this is all I know.
Shores of Attica : Battle on the Rooftop
-Pull the Ballista early ("Death" of all enemies present)
Shores of Attica : Wooden Beam
-Use Jumps, Lightning Run, etc. to get across without getting knocked off balance by the Basilisk fireball
Shores of Attica : Elevator Crank
-exit before after revealing 3/4th of the door
Cliffs of Marathon : Streets 1
-Just flee past all battles
-Push the box near but not totally to the door
Cliffs of Marathon : Streets 2
-Kill Archers first
-Efreet (lvl1 or lvl2) kill Banshee or "Death" it then turn the crank quickly and proceed
OR
-Kill the Banshee first, turn the crank then restart.
-Quickly head for the newly spawning Archers and proceed
NOTE: With the torch you can walk over the broken segment of rails for a small shortcut
Cliffs of Marathon : Street of Fog (wheelbarrow)
-Push through all Archers. Archer 1 requires one block then push ahead. Archer 2's first shot just stuns it, block the second then push through for about 4 seconds before just leaping through the ring of fog and into the Morpheus' Beast fight
Temple of Helios : Rip open the Door
-HJ x3 (at least) over gate using a Satyr Grenadier
-Kill the one guarding the lever then proceed to pull down the door
NOTE: It helps to aim between the middle of the gate and the side wall
OR
-LoD/CW the Satyr Grendier beyond the gate before pulling down the door (BP)
Temple of Helios : Fire Guard Elevator (descending)
-knock them off before/as they spawn for easy wins
Temple of Helios : Courtyard/Stairwell (fog)
-Once you use the Shield, head 1 o'clock for a shortcut
Temple of Helios : Euros Puzzle
-partially reveal the hidden passage rather the fully
-rather then leap up, grab a ledge and pull yourself up for both levels of the extended door, Ascended at a corner straight to the next level (I know this is faster in BP as the Gauntlet launcher is quick)
Caves of Olympus : Path to the Fire
-use a roll at the last second before skimming water to rocket across
Caves of Olympus : Primordial Fire Trial
-After killing all 6 Fire Sentinels, use a Momentum Jump towards the exit
Caves of Olympus : Return
-Go after the two EXP chests on the far side then speed skim across the water towards the exit IF you are after chests
OR
-Momentum Jump (works better with the Guantlet) into the water then rush towards the exit
Temple of Helios : Waking the Winds : Notos Puzzle
-Use Shinobier's tactics
Temple of Helios : Waking the Winds : Zephyros Puzzle
-Push the statue into place, quick break it, leaping into a block, use the laser, leap off the platform toward the climbable wall and quickly insert the shield
Temple of Helios : Exterior
-skip the first battle
Hades
-walk into the climbable wall, leap across, scale the ceiling to the stalactites, triangle clears two sets, make haste to the third set and drop down
Hades : Box Push
-Pull it far enough that you can get behind it
-Use a quick kick (down)
-Use a medium kick (to the right) then get atop it and do a double jump around an invisible wall towards the ledge
NOTE: Using a launch to an air attack can sometimes a lot a full landing rather then a ledge grab *faster*
Hades : Charon Encounter 1
-Ring the bell
-let him win
Jails of Tartarus
-Exploit of save/restart for refill of HP
Jails of Tartarus : Temple of the Gods (chain/wall)
-Just skip the fight
-It could be faster to just make haste (low on the wall) towards foes (at least 2 have to grab you) then skip the rest
Jails of Tartarus : The Crypt
-HJ (using Archer) to the right, upper level, break the wall and pull the lever
-kill 3 of the 4 (all but bottom left) Archers before grabbing the next lever
Escape From Tartarus : Path to Hyperion
-skip the 3 Archers that guard the 'hidden' chests
-Once the Minotaur is killed the barrier drops. When it goes down, restart and quickly grab the nearest crank and turn it all the way (extends the chain). *no Archers need be fought*
Escape From Tartarus : Shackles of Hyperion
-quickly go for the nearest lever *cannot be pulled before enemy spawns if you restart*
-kill all Archers but the bottom right spawn and all Hoplites then pull the other lever
-ignore the Archer and go up the wall
Escape From Tartarus : Atlas Broken Shackles : Gears
-upon landing on the first Gear, restart. (you'll be placed halfway through its path) Then handle as per usual
Return to Hades : Dock of Charon
-skip the arena fight
-abuse save/restart after each break of the gate to fill HP/MP
optiow: No need to concern yourself.
AKheon, satvara and a few others are still working on glitch findig. AKheon speaks of possibly doing a GoW1 Easy God Armor run with all the skips/glitches/tricks he can perform. Right now he has the Glitch FAQs to worry about. Satvara is still the most qualified runner. There is currently no talk of a new run to be done.
Have you seen any of the older Speedruns for GoW1, GoWII or even CoO? You could learn a little through observation alone. Even in the older ones. (especially when they aren't skipping sections)
It appears updates are needed for this thread.
New runs, runners, aids, etc.
~GoWII and CoO could get an update in the future. GoW1 looks fairly solid at this point
If I were to use all of Shen's tricks, along with the cheats and new tricks that have been found, could be fast.
~ Is Shen's time still the fastest one for GoW2?Â
DP: Only because nobody else has done runs (like with Shin's CoO record).
You would do well to speak with AKheon about speedrun tactics, tips, etc. Knowing which skip/glitches to use and all that sort of thing. There are, afterall, a good deal of those these days.
Req: To go as fast as possible. This is true. 'Cheats' would be a different category of run altogether like with 'skips/major glitches' being seperate from a 'fair run'.
Req: Again, this would be an interest only for a 'Cheat Run' as that would allow for a fastest possible handling of things. With sufficient cheats, one could reduce quite a bit of the game to a laughable level. It loses meaning eventually. If one could turn of the AI for instance. 1 hit kills for everything we do. Invincibility, infinite magic, AoH at the start, AoH never expiring, etc. It's hard to say what the limits are if one truely understands 'the process'...if one is limited by what is currently released to the public for usage on those devices, one would have a sufficient tools to exceed a typical speedrun already.
~I prefer a bit of structure/parameter. 'Fairplay' and 'otherwise' keeps things simple (or "real"). 'Cheats' make it all very "complex" so to speak.
tyrhhjy is the speed run record holder for GoW 1
findlestickis the speed run record holder for GoW 2
franchiseboy83 is the current speed run record holder for GoW 3(though this will be obliterated by Akheon and Findlesticks soon)

Just "starting"?
~Still comical that it was ruled as "Offensive". I've not had any reasons given to me that I can recall...for a long, long while. Especially not from a GFAQs post. I wonder how GS even thought they could rule on it. Meh.
That never changes the nature of the feedback given.
Having GS answer outside their jurisdiction was another oddity of the charge.
The only message I've ever recieved by GS is the automated response/ToS violation.
Â
Perhaps someone at GS itself doesn't like you?
^WHY SO TSUNDERE, my lovely imouto?
^^More likely, the Jews did this.
NOTE: I only get special notice for violations at GS (typically when I visit the 'temporary' special event boards like the 'greatest HERP DERP ever' annual awards
