Game Title: Hush

Game Description:

You start off the game as Dr. Jason Greenaway, after making your way to the top of the hospital, opening doors and activating elevators as a sort of turtorial, the game skips to a cutscene where Dr. Greenaway see's a patient with a German Shepard, and orders the dog to be removed from the building. Then you make your way to your objective to delivery a baby. While the mother screams psychoicaly to kill the child, Greenaway orders the nurse's to take the child away and to sedate the mother.

... Six day's after the delivery, you check up on the child to see if the everything is going smoothly. When you reach the moteriation room, the Hospitial shakes violently as if an earthquake is in process. Afterwards people start screaming, and mutated humans start mass murdering all of the normal humans in the building.

Greenaway hides in the observation room until the monster's pass, and Jason deiceds to try and escape the building, taking the child with him. Also you when gain the aid of the dog, the German Shepard, as a ally.

Soon Greenaway finds out the child had an birth defect due to the lack of room in womb, and caused the woman exterme pain, and haterd towards the child. Medical reports show she tried to commit suidice many a-times, but with the baby always surviving.

Even with baby finally deilvered, the pain stayed with the woman, causing the mother to want to seek revenge against the child, and kill it.

These powerful emotions allowed the emotionial feeding creature's know only as 'daemons' to create a small gateway into our reailty, right inside the hospital, killing and mutating all there expect for a unlucky few who survive. The daemons also increased the haterd, and pain the mother feels, mutating her into a powerful foe, and hellbent on revenge on the child.

Greenaway must protect the child, at all costs because if the child is sacirficed in vengance, it will only increase the gateway created by the mother, sucking the world into darkness forever. Now Greenaway must make a hard choice. Escape the hellish hospitial, or save the world?

It all lies in your hands, the player, to decide the fate of humanity.

Gameplay:

-Hush is a Survival/Horror game, that plays like an FPS. There is no true 'HUD', no radars, no weapon screens, nothing.

-Hush uses a interesting close combat system called 'Edge'. During fights, you can attack with weapons using the right rigger, shoot firearms you come across, use the left trigger to throw items, or to aim down the sights of a fire arm. Each hit you score with a non-firearm weapon on a enemy will charge your Execution meter. Sucessful blocks from melee attacks will also charge your meter, but if you take damage your meter will go down. Stealth kills on unaware foes will completely fill up the Execution meter. When full, you can use the B button to let loose sicking, but devestation automatic kill move.

-In Hush everything your character can carry, can be used as a weapon. From chairs, to computer monitors, to knives. But your character can not win in a straight fight, so you must use your surrondings to achieve victory.

-The German Shepard (Sparks), is very useful in Hush. He can act as your 'radar', when he grows an enemy(ies) are near, and when the mother is near, he will whimper. He can also fight, protecting yhou from harm, can be helpful in puzzles, or distract humans. Unforuately you cannot contorl the dog.

-The baby you carry of your back is more of a negative element. If you run for long periods of time, or a fight drags on too long, the baby will start crying which attracts enemies, and the uber boss, the mother.

-The Hospital is for you to roam, everywhere is possible. With hundreds of side quests, and many mini bosses, you can do what you want, when you want. You can even take on the final boss at the beginning of the game if you so choice, but the more you do, the easier the final boss will be.

-You can tell when the mother is almost upon you, when you start hearing a female voice singing nusery rhymies.

Co-op:

-Team up with another player over online or offline spilt-screen and take on the campaign together.

-Unlimited movement, you can be at the underground garage and your friend can be on the top floor. No limitations.

-Each player will have advatages to use against the daemons. The host will have the baby on his back, while the other player will get the dog as an ally.

-Unique communication. Even when using the headset your friend will only be able to hear you within a certian distace, and your enemy can hear you as well, and hunt you down, use communication wisely.

-Exculsive Co-op side missions, and mini-bosses await you and your friend.

Trailer Idea 1:

(Background song by Johnny Cash: Hurt)

{Music starts to a black screen.} (5 seconds)

{Camara slowly moves down a hospitial hallway, gurneys lay on their sides soaked with blood, seven torn and ripped corpses litter the path the camara takes, doors ripped open lay on the ground.} (20 seconds)

{Camara turns to the right and goes into a large room, this time a daycare for children in the hospitial. Childrens corpses litter the room with blood on the walls, you see several mutated daemon-dogish creatures are still devoring the bodies. Asorted muilti-colored slides, and plush dolls lay on the ground as the camara passes over them.} (30 seconds)

{Screen goes black} (5 seconds.)

{Camara reappears in what appears to be a opperating room, several dead medical officals are on the ground with heads missing, or chucks missing from their bodies. Person on opperating table is still alive, and screaming as what seemed to be a mutated patient, IV draging on the ground, wearing an appron giggles and camara pans to see the mutatnt is eating the persons left leg.} (20 seconds)

{Screen goes black} (5 seconds)

{Camara goes down another hallway, but this time among the violatated huamn corpses are the bodies of mutated humans and several corpses of bird-like daemons with crushed skulls. You see a lone figure on his knees repeatly hiting the dead-corpse of one of the daemons, crying as he does so.} (15 seconds.)

{Figure gives the corpse one last hit, and slowly gets up and turn's towards camara, holding a bloodly claw hammer in his hands. Camara zooms in on the man.} (10 seconds)

{We start hearing a muffled wailing of an child, and the blood soaked figure we can see in detail his wearing a docter's attire complete with white jacket stained in red. He reaches in back of him, and takes out a baby. He cradles it, rocking it slowly back and forth in his blood stained hands until child claims down.} (15 seconds.)

{Person puts child back, and looks around the area around him with troubled eyes, camara zooms in slowly on his face. We hear a dog growing and figure moves away off to the right.} (15 seconds)

{Screen goes black.} (5 seconds)

{Camara shows same person bending on the floor next to a large german sheppard. He pets the dog, who also seems blood soaked, with a bit of flesh on its muzzle. German Sheppard grows at something in a half-opened drawer of an office desk with pictures of a family, with blood spots on it. A man rests in a office chair, half of his face missing.} (15 seconds.)

{Figure smiles, reaches inside and pulls out the man lunchs, spilts it into halves, gives one half to german sheppard, and pockets the rest. He then glances towards the raido which is playing the trailer song. Man bends down and pulls out anouther drawer and grabs something, the figure smiles. He pulls out a pistol, and checks the magazine and chamber.} (15 seconds.)

{Man pushes the corpse out of the chair, and pulls out the baby and cradles it again while he sits down in the chair with his back to the office door. Whispering to the child, while setting the pistol on the desk. Dog glances at office door and whimpers, and moves over to mans fit and lays down.} (15 seconds.)

{Camara slowly zooms out off the office. Shows many daemons stealthily crawling on the walls, and lots mutated humans moving akwardly towards the door. Screen slowly goes black.} (25 seconds.)

{Logo comes up on the empty screen.} (5 seconds.)

Trailer Idea 2

(Background song by Led Zeppelin: Stairway to Heaven)

{Start song off at 0:00.}

{Screen starts out black, then it focuses in on a figure dressed in a bloodly docters attire (Dr. Greenaway). The figure turns around and walks forward down a chaotic walkway, filled with bodies of daemon and human alike, knocked over gurneys, and papers scattered everywhere.} 10 seconds

{Dr. Greenaway takes a sharp right, and tries to open a door to find its locked. The camara shifts over to see his face, which looks regretful, before he kicks the door several times, finally busting it down. Dr. Greenaway steps over the broken remains of the door. The camara dose not follow right away, and looks to the right of the door, a sign hangs on the wall which says 'Secruity'. Camara slowly pans back to the door, and moves into the room.} 20 seconds

{Camara shows Dr. Greenaway exaiming a corpse on the ground, it is a male figure in a secruity uniform, his brains are all over the side of the wall and a pistol griped tightly in his right hand. Greenaway shakes his head and jars the pistol of the corpses hand, and checks the magazine. He loads the magazine back in, with a grim grin on his face. He turns over to the secruity console.} 10 seconds

{He exaims some of the monitors, some show daemons devouring bodies of humans, and even of their own kin.His gazes passes over one, but he quickly does a double take. Camara focuses in, showing a female figure in block-stained patient attire. Blond hair covers her face, but you can see she is carrying a smull bundle. Greenaway quickly looks at the piece of tape above the monitor, and reads the black magic-marker writing 'Floor 6, Elevator Enterance.'. He quickly stuffs the pistol away, and dashes off full speed.} 20 seconds

{Camara follows him as he jumps over dead bodies, and a faint sceerching sound sound can be heard, soon after a pounding of feet can be heard. Camara spins around and sees a pack of daemonic-looking hounds following him. You hear a faint bark, and the camara spins around showing a large german shepard running towards the daemon hounds. The man tries to stop it, but the dog barrels through him. The man cries out. The camara turns around, following the dog. It jumps, taking down one of the daemon hounds, and rips out its thorat. The other hounds jump ontop of the german shepard, which barks and tries to fight. The camara turns around showing the stuned Greenaway, then a sharp howl and a spurt of blood hit Greenaway in the face. Camara turns around showing the german shepard on the ground, with its head halfway ripped off and the daemon hounds devouring it. Greenaway makes no sound and countines onward.} 25 seconds

{Camara follows Greenaway, and he stops for a brief second looking at a message written on the wall with human blood. 'FEAR THE NOT DAEMON! WORDS HAVE TWO MEANINGS!' Greenaway runs forwards, arriving in a room with the woman figure walking slowly towards an elevator. Greenaway cries out, pulls out the pistol, and fires of six shots into the woman. The woman falls to the ground, blood spreading from her body. Greenaway runs forward and picks up the bundle she dropped and unravels it. A doll of a baby falls to the ground. Greenaway seems dazed and just stands there as he drops the bundle.} 25 seconds

{Slowly the darkness all around him grows outward, and the camara pans back and shows hundreds of daemons approaching him, the woman body on the ground morphs into a greyish looking daemon that clearly shows its not the Mother. Camara zooms in on Greenaways face. His eyes are blood shot, there is also blood all over his face with a nasty cut from his forehead to his lower right side of his lip. Tears fills his eyes as he lifts the pistol up to his face with a shaky hand and pulls the trigger. Nothing happens. He just stands there pulling the trigger over and over again, camara pans back slowly the daemons moving forward to kill him. Screen goes black.} 20

Hey dude you also like to come up with grusome game ideas, i just recently came up with a more genral overview of some possile game :) I guess we both are quite sick :twisted:, the story got to be cool from what I read in your idea but the hospital and all that kind of gets old a bit, I mean good imagination anyways, respect for that but gameplay with no map and direction pisees me off a bit especially in mystery games

Thanks for the post,

There will be a map, but you will need to switch to it, and will be displayed in-game. There will be a map for each floor, most of the time they are guarded by mini-bosses.

I will check out your game.

The best part is the interactive environment like shapard barking or baby crying I love interactive environment in video games and that is waht a lot of them are lacking, yeah and checkout my "american psycho game" u have a nice imagination better then mine on painkiller ( i am at the hospital) so maybe you can add some fun spice to it

The idea has some good basic thoughts but the peripherals need some work. and the interface would actually work nicely with the current Source Engine. And despite the fact that the environment would be ur weapon, it would be best to include some sort of firearms b/c every1 loves firefights! And the level would need to be expanded outside just the hospital into a city with the hospital as more of a home base or the final level. Now this is just my opinion, but carrying a baby around? it might be batter to have him stash it somewhere safe and have it as a recurring character rather than just running around with a baby all the time and its crying would get VERY annoying. Lastly, i very much like videogame design so if u or anyone else reading this want to throw around ideas or start some sort of project or group let me know.

Of course there will be guns, such as secruity staff weapons, but most of the time you will be using other things. I have somewhere plan if you do some things in order, you can have a special forces team storm the place, so you can take their weapons to add. They will be a third element, so they will not help you.

The game will be limated to the hosptial, since you are trying to escape, but with so many rooms, side missions, mini bosses, and floors to explore, that should be enough. Also the hospital itself will change the longer you are there, making it more dark and gloomy with things growing from the walls and such to change it around so its not the same boring hospital.

And you can take the baby off, but if the mother retrives her baby, its Game Over. So you could only leave the baby alone for so long. (Though for the main story, I thought about a part near the end where the baby gets taken.)

A project could be started, but I have no programming knowage, nor graphics know-how. I am just a writer, and finding voice talent and such, and mission writer.

Alright, I know what u mean about the interactive environment being the mainstay, i was just warning against using it TOO much cuz that may be overwhelming to rookie users. The only problem with the hospital being the main level constantly is repetition of the same scenery so make sure the side quests are innovative and very different...but i do think there is potential, and i am sure if u asked around, plenty of people know graphics design as well as programming. myself i am a writer/concept designer/programmer.

Interesting idea, but there needs to be a reason he can't just take the stairs and walk out the front door, such as the mother has sealed it with her powers, or she has torn the entire hospital into an alternate reality.

Sounds like a very good idea, i love survial horror games, especially with a really good twist in the storyline......maybe somehow the babies mother is linked to you in a way? But all in all i would buy this game if it hit the market. And i also wouldnt doubt that if this game was made how many Directors would want to pick it up as a movie, but great idea man and good luck

It should be a pretty big hospital because walking around would be rather repetitive. I agree with the idea of taking some missions outside of the hospital. Instead of having the Dr. just want to leave the hospital, he would want to save the town from the mother. Then that could expand the game to the entire town. But the hospital would still be the centerpiece of the town.

I plan on it being big, and maybe the whole city outside(Game set in Seattle) could be Hush 2 or something lol.

make it like re4 that was a kickass game.

make it double play once u beat it then u have to go back to the game, if there r weapons then have a weapon infiate... i'm kind of looking this like resident evil 4 lol

Lol I doubt any game devloper would take me seriously. But I might copyright it anyway, thanks.

RE had zombies, this not so much and this games also an FPS.

Double Play would be cool, maybe give you access to all of the guns , some more side quests, new mini-bosses, and such.

Issues:

-Why would the mother want to kill her child?

-She's PSYCHIC?! Work that out better, maybe the child will be the screw-up, that the mom was a drug addict and caused some birth defects in the child which led to some sort of skin rash that eventually burrows into the blood stream and causes insanity. Who knows, just shooting around here.

-That combat system sounds a lot like the reflex-based button push sections that every game and its cousin has. I like how timing changes what you do, but on-screen button prompts shouldn't be used; ever.

-Hospitals are really really bland. That's gonna be really annoying to walk through the entire game.

Good things:

-You can make great atmosphere in a hospital, take one of those kiddie rooms where the cancer children play that have murals on the wall, and splash blood on it. That picture will stick with you for life.

-The dog is a smart idea, albeit it's getting used in Fable 2.

-The FPS focus is interesting, although I'm not sure how easy it will be to find guns and ammo inside of a sterile facility.

-The fact that it's a survival horror is a plus, the deaths should be almost instant.

Well I think making it turnbased would work, so when its your turn to hit, the screen pauses, and you have a certain time limt to hit a button/combuations of buttons, the more you hit the damage you do.

Yeah about the hosptial, but if it changes over the course of the game, it might mix it up a bit. Like the walls turn colors, things start growing out of walls, etc.

And about finding guns, Secuity maybe? And I have planned the latter on SWAT or someone comes into the building.

That's good about the guns, except that if SWAT comes in, that means you don't have a legitimate reason to stop you from coming out. Also, I get that you want the button press combat in there, but I gotta say, a turn-based pausing thing would kinda ruin the pacing. Imagine being tense, hearing the sound of a crazed patient's IV tubes trailing on the ground behind them as he's running towards you, you're about to die because you weren't careful enough, and BAM, the game pauses to allow you to make your move. You catch my drift here? Maybe the way CoD4 treated dogs would work out better, y'know, where if they get too close, you gotta kill 'em, but you can still murder them from afar without the sequence. Anyways, yeah, that seems to be good pretty much, just make sure you change up the hospital environment, because I can imagine it becoming very very stale.

Wonderful game idea. Of course there is still a bunch of improvement to be done, but one day this could honestly be something. Here are some suggestions of mine. Feel free to use whatever or nothing. Most of my ideas aren't too good and some are questions that some people might be asking themselves.

I'm not too crazy about the psychic mother for one. Honestly though, I can't think of anything better. I just find the idea a bit dull.

I don't understand why the mother is trying to kill the baby. I mean, sure, she is crazy, but it's just the baby. Why would the life of one baby determine whether the game ends or not.

However there are some things that you mentioned that sound great, like...

The hospital setting. Some people think the player should be able to enter the city, however I think you can do some great things in a hospital and your idea of the hospital changing is great. Perhaps after so long, the hospital would eventually turn into something not even close to the original setting due to this power of the mother. Possibly the player would die if they take too long to exit the hospital. Not too long as in 20 minutes, but I'm sure you understand.

Some more about the hospital setting and the city setting, I think exiting the hospital would be fine near the end where the play must then exit the city also.

I love the idea of SWAT. However I think in a time like this, a special forces team would be sent in that is trained for odd occasions like this. Of course this team wouldn't know whether you were a mutated human or not, so of course they would try to kill you.

Seems interesting, but you need to broaden the story alittle more. Like how did mutated people come about? I think the baby crying is an interesting idea, just not sure how you could implement it. Like what wakes the baby up? I would assume a guy running around killing monsters would cause the baby to be screaming the entire time.

As for copywriting material it takes more then a solid idea. If you were to write up the entire game, script, etc, then you can copy it. But just an idea, people can take regardless. All they would have to do is rename all your stuff.

I like the Phycic mother because she has to have some kind of powers, or the game wouldn't make sense.

And the crying baby does create somewhat of a problem, but its a great idea. Keep up the good work!

I was imaging more for the SWAT folks coming in is that they rapple into the building, busting through a window, so it still keeps you inside.

It seems 'Edge' needs some mroe work, I will have to come up with some combat system ideas, all ideas are welcome of course.

That was orginialy what I was thinking of, the SWAT people were ordered to purge everything, so they now become enemies, a third faction. The SWAT, The Mother, and you.

The whole emotions casuing daemons and what not to appear and so on sounds a little... Weird. Personally, I liked it better without the explaination of the mother wanting to kill the baby and monsters appearing. Keep working on it though.

I guess that might fit in to the story if Millwrought felt it was necessary. I mean the baby is the child of this mother who's emotion brought the daemons. I'm sure some of that might be passed down to the child.

I might, but also consider this.

What would scare you the most? Fighting supernatural monsters, a crazied super-villian mother, with only a dog at your side, a baby at your back, and your envorment itself, or you fighting all of the above , while you have special powers?

I like this feeling that you are almost complelty outgunned, outnumbered, but you have your intelligence and not much else to save you.

But I might look into some special abilities.

I like the whole free-roam thing, where you do whatever you want. And the dog barking, baby crying and anything that creates that freaky atmosphere is awesome. And the interactive environment definatly would make it seem like more of a survival horror. Ahah this is the type of game if dreamed of. In like 10 years down the road when this thing goes #1, make sure to message me aha.

To tell you the truth, I have not played that many survival/horror FPS's, so I wouldn't know for sure.
