The 360 Recommendation Thread - What Game Should I Get? *56k* (Updated 13/06)

You should have got the Condemned 2 game when it came with Condemned Criminal Origins! I already had the first one for the PC but had to get it for the 360 when it was bundled.

Some one out there in the world of Ebay is sure to have both of them together, maybe check there?

I was interested in that Sega tennis game as well, it looks like one of those fun games you pop in every so often to play... I just dont know if it will be worth full price.

I have about 40$ to spare and would like to pick up a game for the 360. I mainly play RPGs and FPS games. Any suggestions?

I would say LO!

Ive got 30$ to burn. Looking for games with good online multyplayer.I prefer rpg's.No M games Please! Ilike RTS games also.bobthecoo9

As far as I'm aware there aren't many multiplayer RPG's. Overlord has some multiplayer action, but I didn't find it outstanding. Control of the minions also adds a slight element of strategy, but it's very simplified. That might be worth a look. You could always go for Two Worlds, but I hear that's a form of digital masochism so I'd advise against it.

There's a growing core of RTS games, but most are rather lacklustre compared to their PC counterparts. If you wanted to you gould go for C&C3, or Battle for Middle Earth 2. Battle for Middle Earth 2 actually has a slight facet of role-playing, in that you can create your own hero for use on skirmish and multiplayer maps, so that might be worth a look for you. I'm not sure about the multiplayer activity for RTS games, mind you. I can't imagine their lobbies being quite as busy as Halo 3's, so you may have difficulty finding an online game.

I'm not exactly sure if Oblivion's already in this price range, but I guess it's safe to assume that it's probably not $60 today. COD2 and COD3 are probably cheaper now as well as the first Condemned and PDZ. I haven't played any of those, but those are the cheaper games I can remember off the top of my head.

The games that I would recommend are:

Call of Duty 4

Mass Effect

Grand Theft Auto IV

Im really loving GTA IV and would really recommend this game to anyone who is about to get a 360 and to anyone who has a 360; it going to be an amazing game.

I have 50 dollars to spend. Can not spend anymore then that so include tax. Tax rate here is 14 percent.

I was thinking Dead Rising but is there any other games? I only got two since I just got my Xbox, I got GRAW and Vegas.

or should I save up for gears of war or Halo 3? Only need another month of allowance.

Personally i would pick gears and halo over dead rising but i've only played the demo of dead rising so I wouldn't have the best opinion on that game. As for gears or halo i would pick Halo because well, theres matchmaking and no host advantage. Gears is pretty much the opposite of that so it'd take you longer to get into a game for multiplayer. You should also consider Call of Duty 4 but that is really different from the other two.

Do not get Lost oddyssey and if you want to know why read my blog on my page. Trust me if you want an rpg just wait for ff13 or anything else but that game it will not be worth your 60 bucks.

Don't worry, I have 80 dollars set aside for GTA IV too, so I can get two games

I'm looking for a game as fun as Bioshock and similar in terms of type of game

Budget is not really an issue, but cheaper is preferable and co-op would be nice but once again not necessary

I have been on and off with the Xbox 360 with gaming but have decided to get back into it a bit.

I was wandering if there any must have titles you can reccomend me getting which I don't have (I will list the games I have so you can see).

I like something short as I don't have loads of time to play most of the time (an evening here and there and the weekends are when I mainly play on it appart from time off). I also have found I don't particularly enjoy Oblivion as it kept crashing on me and I just can't seem to get into it. I also find Blue Dragon not too good due to the lead character not being somebody who I feel you can relate to really (the voice gets a bit grinding to be honest). Also Dead Rising I did not enjoy as much as I could have due to the lack of save points.

Mass Effect is possibly my favourite on that list and if you like RPGs, then you should definately get it

Yes thanks, I think I will have a look around at those games. Some of them are on special offer (Mass Effect is £25, normally £40 here and PGR4 is £18 where its normally £40 but I just got Forza 2 for £10 so may wait a while for PGR4).

I have Bioshock thanks but I would reccomend it to anybody in two minds over getting it, very good story and good controls and nice graphics.

I'd recommend Mass Effect if you're into RPGs. Call of Duty 4 and Frontlines: Fuel of War are some good shooters that are out right now as well. If you're into music games, Rock Band is pretty good with friends, if you want to hand over the cash.

I am not sure about Mass Effect really, I didnt enjoy Oblivion nor KOTOR which are some similar in style of Mass Effect.Garfield360UK

I'd slightly disagree there, Mass Effect is more of an action RPG. I hated Oblivion but Mass Effect gets really good and is one of my favourite games on the console

Yeah that is one of the drawbacks. You may want to pick up the pc version as this has been removed. Never played Kotor although I've heard good things

Thinking of buying Viking tomorrow, anyone reccommend it?

I quite like the story of KOTOR, its the using the combat menu that gets me. I don't want to have to pause mid battle to tell my team mates what to do and to throw a grende for example takes a command. I am not bashing the game to be clear as I know many like it, I just don't like it myself.Garfield360UK

Mass Effect's combat isn't quite as clunky as KOTOR's. Things like medikits, weapon changes and grenades have their own button, rather than forcing you to navigate through menus. You have to pause battle to tell your team mates to use special powers though.

I was playing my friends PSP and she has that new Final Fantasy.. I really like the way its set up, its an RPG but its not turn-based.. i was never a huge fan of "turn based" or really any rpgs for that matter.. are there any out there for the 360 that arent turn based? kgansor

Try Ninja Gaiden Black. I think that's on there. I quit becaus it was too difficult for me, but you should try it. It's quite fun.

What's better? Mass Effect or Oblivion. I hear both are great games but Oblivion is slightly favored more. Which one would you reccomend, and why?
