The 360 Recommendation Thread - What Game Should I Get? *56k* (Updated 13/06)

I would rent Naruto if you can. I'm a big fan of the magna/anime, but that game is either "I like it" or "I wanna burn it" type. So rent it if you can, and if you like it go out and buy it, it does have multiplayer and a lot of side missions/races things like that.

Never played The Outfit but its only 15 bucks used at Gamestop.

CoD 4 has multiplayer without LIVE, and you can do it on a single console. In case I confused you sayin local.

But if you wanna be safe about it, get Halo 3.

You'll get more out of the Halo singleplayer though.

Well, right now I'm renting Halo 3 (i'm going to end up buying it), i have Oblivion, Assassin's Creed (I recommend you rent this game first because of mediocre replayability and short main story, and you're going to get bored of it eventually), NBA Homecourt, and Guitar Hero 2. I'm wondering if there are any action adventure/good multiplayer games out there right now? For Christmas, I've saved up for a Monitor/Hi-Def TV to play my XBOX on and some other add-ons for it, but I don't know if i should stick with that, or are there any games that are REALLY worth the money for me to buy?AsiZaNDragon

Action Adventure - Dead Rising, Saints Row(MP), Condemned, Overlord(MP), Splinter Cel: Double Agent(MP)

Multiplayer - Gears of War, Lost Planet, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, CoD4, The Orange Box(Team Fortress)

As for a Monitor/HDTV. It depends on how close you gonna be sittin to it. I use a 23 inch HDTV as my PC monitor and for my 360. An its perfect for sitting like you would for PC gaming. If you want to sit across a room and play, try between 26-32 inches.

If your trin' to decide between games and the TV, go with the TV. A prime example of why, is Dead Rising. If you play this game on a SDTV, you will have a hard time reading the text. Its so small, I couldn't read it on a 26 inch SDTV. But it look great on my 23 inch HDTV, and I had no touble.

I know it's a newer game, but you should add MX vs. ATV Untamed, it is a really good game.

I can say that Mass Effect is a truely great game with tons of replay value. You can connect with the characters in ways never before experienced, and the storyline draws you in. It's a must-have if you love RPGs.

I haven't played CoD4 yet, but it did get a perfect 10 rating from Game Informer. You should go read the game reviews at their website so you can make an informed decision about which game to get.

But basically it's RPG vs shooter. Which would you rather have?

Im gettin a 360 soon and Im gettin one game. I want a game that will take me a while to beat and has good online. Ive been thinking of gettin Halo 3 or The Orange Boxmsi276

I can't speak for the Box, but Halo naturally has awesome multiplayer. The campaign is enjoyable but I doubt it will take you very long to beat it.

The online will amuse you for a long time. However, I can speak for the Orange Box and the online is absolutely amazing. I personally enjoy Halo 3 online (mainly because of who I play with) much more than that of the Orange Box. However, you can't go wrong with either game.

Dead Rising's text is very frustrating if you don't have an HDTV.

Lost Planet is a great arcade shooter with a fun MP. Not sure if a lot of ppl play it anymore though.

I never played DR enough to give an opinion, because I was using an SDTV at the time I played it. So, I have to say Lost Planet, fun game. The mechs you can use are fun also.

Get CoD4. If you don't have enough money, to get it. I really can't help ya, I never played those two games. I've played CoD2 though, awesome game. But if its MP you're looking for, CoD4 is the way to go.

okme n my brotherfinally got enough money for a 360. I kno i am definetly getting madden, because my brother is alot younger and is not allowed to play m rated games. and i only have enough money for one more game. I am mostly lookin at shooters but i was thinking about these games:

I don't like Double Dragon, its not the NES version, its the arcade version. Bomberman LIVE is a blast on LIVE.

I would like to recommend UNO also a fun game on LIVE.

Well as a recent Xbox 360 owner, I was looking at a few older games that would be worth buying. Ended up finding Condemned for $9.99 at Walmart brand new. I would only assume Perfect Dark Zero, PGR3, Kameo and other launch titles are going for $9.99 - $19.99 which would be a great deal considering these games were very strong launch titles.

Is F.E.A.R worth buying? I haven't played the PC version (my PC can't handle it), but I have just noticed there is a port for the Xbox 360. I am a fan of FPS. So should I buy F.E.A.R?oli632

I'd say no. The single player is ok but the online is dead as of right now. So you would be paying $39.99 or more for just the single player which I don't think is worth it.

Oblivion is one of the many must have games for the 360. While I don't know how much EUR29,99 is in an American, Oblivion: GOTY Edition has both expansions for 60 US dollars.

Either way, you'll be playing that game well into 2008.
