Ive been playing this game for about 3 hours now, and i wouldnt put Assassins Creed and Tenchu in the same category...Assassins Creed is 10 x's better :)

After IGN's biased review, it's nice to see that Gamespot truly appretiates the game. I hope it's as good as they say, and I'll hopefully get my copy withing not so long. :)K4ss3r

I feel likean idiot because I never checked OTHER sources because I THOUGHT gamespot was accurate.

For MONTHS they had the release date on November 13. I went to Best Buy, Target, and Wal-mart and none of them had it because it's not released until tomorrow????

Why the crap did Gamespot put for so long the wrong date? It was a waste of time driving over to find it's not out.

Well i guess you feel the right way since you did not learn yet that the date reported on GS is USUALLY the ship date meaning that USUALLY the game is available the day after that.

I just logged on GS to see what they gave it after playing it for a few hours last night, and i have to say that i am shocked. Yesterday before playin the game i saw that GI gave it a 9.5 and i thought that seemed about right. A 9.0 isnt high enough in my opinion. Now im hearing some sources only gave it a 7.7. WOW. I mean this game is truly great.

I will start with the few bad things i noticed. First while running, especially trying to escape guards after an assassination, you can often grab on to a ledge or start climbing when you dont want to. But if anything it just makes the escape much more intense. Second i will say that the information missions will seem to get a little repetitive, but they are still fun and i dont hate doing them. and the last thing that kind of bugged me about this game is how when your riding your horse from city to cit just because your going fast the guards start attacking you. i dont seem to understand that, but i may have not payed attention when they were explaining the horse sequences.

The many goods. First i feel that the visuals in this game are truly remarkable as well as the animations. The combat (yet not that difficult once you get counter kill) is very fun and rewarding with each kill. The brutality of the kills is very nice to watch, I love how the camera will go into a cinematic view when u do an instant kill. The voice acting and sound was just fine in my opinion, although i will agree with the GS review and sy that Altair could have better voice over. His voice and personality seem a little too modernized for the crusades. But his personality does go along with the storyline, Altair is cocky and arrogant but very skilled. And may not always follow the rules of the Brotherhood. I liked how you lose most of your skills and have to earn them back, because it makes you appreciate counter kill.

This is a very good game that everyone should at least give a chance. I feel anything lower than a 9 is just flat wrong. if i could give it any score id give it a 9.7 or 9.8.

Yeah, you're definitely right, but the comparison has been drawn, and I can't ignore that at the base level they play similar. AC is a whole helluva lot better though, I agree. Now that I've opened up more combat moves and have adjusted to running across the rooftops, it's pretty incredible.

Just got this in the mail, but have yet to pop it in [my 360].

Hopefully with all these mixed reviews, I can settle somewhere in the middle, and enjoy this.

It seems that the GS review was a refutation (rebuttal) of the IGN review. For example, the IGN reviewer does not spoil the sci-fi twist which is at the start of the game, but the GS reviewer does not even consider this to be a spoiler and states the sci-fi twist in both the review text and video review.

I am not trying to bash GS or anything...

I really trust Gamespot's reviews, but how did GS give 9.0 for this game, and everyone else gave like 7.7 or below?

It's confusing. I will have to wait until see video review from GS.

Only one site I know of gave it below an 8 and that was IGN, seems like they gave another high profile game a low score recently. Could be a way of driving traffic to their site in a tabloid kind of way. Give a popular game a low score and people will want to see why.

Well, the reviews are out which means this board needs a stickied thread for Assassin's Creed discussion.

I will start off the discussion, this game looks amazing! My copy has been dispatched and I should have it for release day here in the UK (Friday). I have always been excited for this game and it looks like its been for good reason according to most reviews.

Do you think the game is really that good? I hear the reviews for the game are incredible, but i dont think its worth the money...

Scores don't always have to be around the same range. In fact, when they aren't it gives me hope that the gaming industry isn't reviewed by a bunch of cyborgs controlled by EA games to give games a good score automatically.

Err anyway, being a huge fan of Thief (including creating fan missions) I was looking forward to this game, but have still yet to see anything to really get my attention. I will probably rent it.

it's irritating to hear ppl complain about all the info gathering you have to do in this game. It's a freaking ASSASSIN game. it's not halo, or cod, or any other fps. It's made to be played stealthy. yes you can go all gungho on it if you want, it's your choice but it's still ASSASSIN'S creed. lol does the 360 really have so many fps nowadays that ppl forgot how other genres are meant to be played.ceells87

Been waiting months for this game. So far, it has more then lived up to what I expected. Messing with the civilians is so much fun. Watching the dumb people stumble around the dead bodies. As I sit on a bench watching them all react.

Climbing up a tall tower, spotting another building far away, then going there to climb up it... is so much fun! Watching him climb is amazing. Never seen anything like it.

The story leaves so much possibility. Anything is possible for the sequels. Any time and any place. Can you imagine this type of game, in a night time setting, climbing a sky scraper to assassinate some keeper of the relic?

I don't believe there are. Then again, I've never been in a situation yet (moving onto my 7th assassination) where I couldn't clearly hear what the characters were saying, so it's not really necessary.

I have followed the storyline through Damascus and Jerusalem. I'm going to Acre now. So far, I have only gotten to make 2 assasinations per storyline. I am sure hoping there's a CRAPLOAD more. Above post said on their 7th, so I guess after Acre I go back and do more assasination missions at the other cities. Hope so.

I started playing it like an assasins game but after playing it for quite a bit already and only killing guards mainly and getting only 2 assasinations, kind of forced to playing it like some God of War game where you just kill whomever to get entertainment.

Still like the game overall, it is fun to explore, just too many of the same things....too many citizens to rescue, all the same.

I bought Assassins creed AND I HATE IT! I have given 5 hours of my life to this POS in hopes that it would get better.

The twist is asinine, they should've kept it in the crusade times FULLY! Next is the character controls... This is a huge step backwards in gaming for controls... allmost feels like a point n click.

The controls REALLY shine during the chases.

There is ALOT of bad with this game, more than good. Yes the graphics are nice but thats not just not enough in the year 2007.

For a game thats taken 4 years to come out.. Ubisoft has dropped the ball BIGTIME.

The flag hunts, the viewpoints and the tamplar hunts are just not enough to keep my attention... talk about OVERHYPE!!!

I have honestly not been this disappointed in a title since State of Emergency on PS2 !

Flame away but my rant makes me feel a bit better. Think Ill be trying to take this back opened and without a reciept to Walmart... they take back ANYTHING!!!!

They are 9 "bigwigs" to assassinate in all. There are three sections to each city, y'see.

If you find you're getting bored, why not try mixing up your style of play a bit? You mention you're playing it like a hack 'n' slash, which is a shame when there are so many cool stealth things to do. As for the citizens, you don't have to do all the quests put towards you. You only need a relatively small amount to unlock the option to advance to the main assassination. I like doing all the the mini quests though :) It's almost quite relaxing in a bizarre way.

I must admit - with such a large amount of conflicting reviews, this is the first time I'm actually scared to spend $60 on a game (not that I'm cheap, but I hate throwing away money). But, in the end, I'll probably end up buying it since this game looks so refreshing and original.Aaron89

I agree. I've been reading review after review, plus user's comments and reviews, and I'm still not quite sure because it's quite a bit to pay, especially if a potentially improved version might come out for PC next February. I will also probably end up buying it today after I do some other stuff.

I love assassin-stealth-type games and so despite the negatives of the game, I'm sure I'll enjoy it still. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

well i know there are many ppl who will hate it, its a genere that not many ppl enjoy

i think that if u always enjoyed stealth games, and going through them with patience, and exploring maps, and enjoy some action that isnt shooting and punching u will love this game

but its a game where u either love it or hate it really, if ur not in to it, like mid evil days, running on rooftops, very realistic sword fights, u wont like, so dont buy it just because of the hype

i knew i wanted this game no matter what review it got because ur a damn assassin, ur a hitman in jerusalem, how freakin cool is that?

i think its one of the best games ive ever played, while some ppl will find it horrible, it depends on each gamers interest, if u've never played a game with this ****before, u probably wont like it... if ur not sure rather u buy it just cuz of reviews, then dont get it, its obvious ur not that interested in what the game has to offer, u really just think about getting it cuz of all the hype...

a really different kind of stealth, like "back in the day, im hiding in the crowd with a hoodie on with out using and high-tech
