The Official GTA IV Trailer thread.

It was an awesome trailer. I'm actually glad to go back to Liberty City. I just hope the game isnt watered down becuase of the implied setting of the location.ImmortalKokujin

Max Payne, Gta3 (we wont count this one), the second True Crime, all of the Spider Man games, Godfather, .

I won't list any more, because I can't think of any, but I'm sure they're there. Obviously this game brings NYC to a different level of detail, there'll be more to do and see.

It wouldn't make sense if Rockstar just decided to set it in NY. London was done such a long time ago that it doesn't even matter. Locations and murder don't matter. All of Clansy's games have real location. Maybe Rockstar does this because their games are so high profile. Honestly I don't know, and don't care. I just want to play the game, period.

Remember Behind Enemy Lines, the guy with the ridiculously big rifle that tracked down the American pilot.

Looks a lot like our guy, lol. Face it we won't know if his nationality until we have more info.

In Driver:PL you were a criminal who could go on killing sprees, and that was in NYC, so, it can be done. NYC is overdone tho, I mean, PL just did NYC in great detail a year ago, but personally, I'm siked, I have faith in GTA.

With all of you who are buzzing about the location (the ones who say it's over done i mean) ok i do understand that it has been done in many forms, but if you have ever been to new york than you know that those games did not capture what it feels like to be in the nyc.

This game seems (but only from what i've seen) to catch the attitude of the city of the world.

So although this city has been done numourous times it done right.

The closest that one was driver 2, but only the 70's was good the present time period wasn't nearly as good. But that is my opinion.

And to all those people who want to customize the accent and everything else on the character, that's a bad idea. When you can customize everything down to the last detail(I mean besides superficial look) you end up with a really lame character with no personality to accomidate for it, look at Saints Row.

its cuz volition and THQ are idiots at making stuff work for created characters.lets look at the storyline for the created character in def jam fight for NY,u pick the voice,edit the face n stuff,and the storyline is awesome from there!

I was not disapointed at all.  I think trockstar will put a new spin on Liberty City, if it is in fact Liberty at all.

Superman, Driver: Parallel Lines, 

To be honest, it may be mildly disappointing if this Liberty/NYC is the ONLY setting, althought for me personally the storyline is more important than map exploration, it may be the case that there are several locations, and the next trailier may show another city and/or another character. Rockstar simply teased with this trailer as they do. :DViscaBarcaInter

I can't believe it, the trailer hasn't been out for a week yet and the news already reported that someone said the game should be banned. That's some crap.Ricky-cubano

Why is everyone so focussed on the location? A fictional location can be just as good as a real one, and most times better as the creators can make it however they want. It sounds like the guy in the video is russian, so I wonder how that is going to influence the game?

 Did anyone else notice the 300C's driving around?  I wonder if this means they are going to bring real vehicles into the game rather than imitations?

Lastly, I really wanted to see some sort of action so I could see this physics engine that is rumoured to be in the game. If it does what they say it will, than that will be Awesome!

I'm done talking about the location. Now I really want to know about the gameplay, In the next 2 months i think we'll be getting a lot of information about the game.

Even before the trailer, I couldn't get the concept of PGR first person driving implemented into the new Grand Theft Auto. If you think about it, doing this would change how the game is played. Although it would be quite difficult to do it would add a level of realism to the game. Driving in first person, sticking your arm out the window and trying to take out someones tires, or even return fire from the passengers seat. Something to think about.
