^^its all there!
this has me slightly ticked off,why the hell didn't microsoft unveil it sooner?now im stuck with a white 360 with only a 20 gb hardrive......this sucks.
the Zypher was the old name and now its Elite but i like Zypher moreis Zephy or whatever the new name for the elite 360?
Â
what does the elite come with (all acceosrries and stuff)??
fazio93
is the new 360 going to use 60nm cpus?David136a
It won't have the new 65nm processors until fall which means these new Elites will still have the same "crap" innards as the current 360s (except for the new HDMI interface and chipset of course.)
Â
I'm not getting a 360 until they have 65nm processors. Â
Elite is offiical name, Zephyr was the internal MS name for the console. It comes with Black wireless controller, 120gb HDD, Black wired Headset, component/composite cable set like the premium. HDMI cable. audio adapter cable for HDMI. since the HDD comes with a data transfer cable, I would assume it comes with that too, but I could be wrong. 1 month Gold Live trial and obviously free Silver membership.is Zephy or whatever the new name for the elite 360?

Has that been announced as the timeframe for when the 65nm chips will go into service? Or as that just your educated guess? I can live with waiting until fall, but they seem to keep pushing it back and after they announced Elite would not have it I had a fit.You cannot use HDMI if you have an SDTV standard TV, it's only optimal for 720 or 1080p the latter especially. The game cases won't change a bit, the Elite is just a new available console with more options but no game will be made for it especially. And it's still an Xbox 360 it's just an Xbox 360 Elite.will the new games for the elite say on the game case "XBOX360 Elite" or still "XBOX360"? just wondering
Â
also, what is the difference betweeman HDMI Cable or port and a composite video cable?
does it matter if i just have a regular t.v.?

im a nooob but what is the 60nm cpu and what does it do?And all this boils down to being little more than craptastic, because despite the HDMI and HDD, and a coat of black vinyl, it won't have any of the needed parts internally to fix the systems issues. NO 65nm chipset, NO internal redesign, NO motherboard redesign, NO quieter fans and disc drives. None of that stuff. I am so pissed. I was wrong too, because I said it would have the 65nm chip atleast because I couldn't believe that MS would be so stupid to put out a new SKU with the 65nm already announced a year ago, and then not use it. I'll never overestimate them again. Very frustrating news. Schumi7WDCYa the only reason I was holding off is because I thought the hard drive was being fixed, so there wouldn't be problems.
has anyone heard if the original 360 is going to come out with a HDMI dongle? that would be nice... but Im not trying to spend 500 more dollars for a jump from component video to hdmi, dont think its worth 500 bucks... as for the color, so what.... oh and the hard drive is nice but not that nice...

I don't mind providing a little info, but damn guy, take 2 minutes to search any game site and you can find out most of this stuff your asking. The current wireless controller comes with 2 regular Alkaline AA batteries, so I would expect the black one to do the same. The play and charge kit will be available in black, and it will retail for 20 bucks here in the US, like the white version, you can find the white version for 15 or less though in some places, and it comes with a rechargeable pack.does the 360 wireless controler come with a rechargebale battery? or 2 AA's?
also, how much is the charge and play kit? does this come with a battery (rechargeable) pack?
fazio93
It can't, you cannot use an adapter from component or VGA or what have you to HDMI. If your referring to the premium coming with an eventual HDMI port, then I highly doubt it, since they announced the Elite would be a permanent model, so I think if you want HDMI, your stuck buying the Elite.has anyone heard if the original 360 is going to come out with a HDMI dongle? that would be nice... but Im not trying to spend 500 more dollars for a jump from component video to hdmi, dont think its worth 500 bucks... as for the color, so what.... oh and the hard drive is nice but not that nice...

im a nooob but what is the 60nm cpu and what does it do? Its not 60nm it is 65nm, and having 3 65nm processors means less power consumption, and in turn, less heat. The system will be less noisy too, but I could give a crap about how loud the fans are. Many of 360s problems attribute to it's power hungry 90nm processors. I'd like to avoid those problems so I'm avoiding the 360 until MS get off of their asses and incorporate some cooler chips.[QUOTE="DeathMob"][QUOTE="Schumi7WDC"]And all this boils down to being little more than craptastic, because despite the HDMI and HDD, and a coat of black vinyl, it won't have any of the needed parts internally to fix the systems issues. My fault, I didnt mean hard drive....I just meant the insides I thought were gonna be better so it has less problems. (over heating etc.)
Oh and also didn't they said the hd will cost 179?
Please refrain from posting your own thread about the much rumored and discussed Zephyr / Elite for the time being. The issue is that everyone wants to make a thread about the new system and rather than a forum for talking about all sorts of things involving the 360 the whole forum just becomes about the Zephyr. Thanks for your understanding.

Quck Stats (some confirmed, some not confirmed):
Word has it that the new system will have a 120GB hard drive and an HDMI video port, and will come in black (oooooh).
Rumored price, $479 (with HDMI cable).
Existing 360 owners will have the option to buy the 120GB hard drive for "under $200."

Im getting ti with no problem. Why people are getting mad if they don't want it don't buy it. Only difference bigger hd and you buy it.trophylocoste
I'm mad because this new "Elite" system is still going to have the same old 90nm processors. It would make sense to debut a new version of a system with the new version of processors.
I know why they are doing it though. There are thousands of the 90nm Xeons that they need to use up before the 65nm switch. There are probably warehouses filled with 90nm processors that would just collect dust if the proc switched to 65nm today. It would be very wasteful and expensive to just junk the 90nms. Regardless, they shouldn't release the "Elite" until the old stock of 90nm procs are gone.
90nm makes the "Elite" seem so... not "Elite," after all.

Why is this a problem...allegedly they're going to manufacture 65nm Xbox 360 processors starting fall. So then, the Core, Premium and Elite will get their "upgrade". Releasing it now doesnt make a difference because people can choose to wait until fall to get the updated version anyways.

Waiting till fall is the problem. I've wanted a 360 for quite a while now and I've known the 65nm is comming, so I decided to wait until consoles that were properly equipped were released. Then I heard the rumors about Zephyr and figured that a revised 360 would have revised processors. I'm just disappointed that so many improvemnets were made except for one of the top improvements, 65nm CPUs.
With the failure rate and horrible track record of the current 90nm Xbox360s I am obligated to wait for the procesor revision. I'm not like most of the users here who are willing to repurchase a system several times because of the poor quality. I like my systems to last. Both of my Dreamcasts are 8 years old and still play like brand new. Why can't MS do the same for us? My hope is that the 65nm process will improve many of the heat issues that plague the 360, and in turn, create a longer lasting system.

Then the problem is that Microsoft won't make the 65 nm processors sooner. The problem doesn't lie with the Xbox 360 Elite. Say they didn't announce the Xbox 360 Elite now and decided to wait until fall and then introduce the 65 nm revised Xbox 360 Cores/Premiums + announce the Elite. You would still have to wait until fall anyways....this is not Xbox 360 Elite's problem. The only difference if Microsoft didnt accounce the Xbox 360 Elite now is that consumers won't have the choice of getting the 90 nm Xbox 360 Elite quicker.

Why have any 90nm Elites at all? I'd be okay if it were released in fall, at least it would truely be Elite with 65nm processors...Â
That is correct, I saw it on the news today. They aren't limited edition. I just have to figure out how to get one. Does anyone know about how much money I would get for a Premium at EBgames? I have not been having any luck with my current 360. It is bipolar or something, one minute it works, the next it gives me the lights of death. The advantage I would get with HDMI, 120gig hd, and later in fall 65nm cpus is worth it to me. If the elite breaks during the fall, and you have a warrenty at a store, there is your 65nm cpu. You really don't have to wait. Thanks to whoever gives me an estimate on my premium.EMERlCa6969I ma Eb all the time and was just there today, The premium is worth $190 with harddrive and $150 without =]
