That is correct, I saw it on the news today. They aren't limited edition. I just have to figure out how to get one. Does anyone know about how much money I would get for a Premium at EBgames? I have not been having any luck with my current 360. It is bipolar or something, one minute it works, the next it gives me the lights of death. The advantage I would get with HDMI, 120gig hd, and later in fall 65nm cpus is worth it to me. If the elite breaks during the fall, and you have a warrenty at a store, there is your 65nm cpu. You really don't have to wait. Thanks to whoever gives me an estimate on my premium.EMERlCa6969
Wait ! These new one are not ever coming out with the 65nm cpus. Well i guess I can live with that. I mean the nosiest part of the 360 isn't the fan, it is the drive. But I'll just wait till I have the money, so that I can go out and buy one.Â
Can anyone tell me why this new Elite will not support IPTV?tenorio_rotc
OK, so I think they need to make it more clear in that the Elite will not come with IPTV, but will be implemented into it just the the white Xbox, the way I read the story, I thought that you would not be able to use IPTV on the Elite for some weird reason.Â
[QUOTE="Aznsilvrboy"]I bet 1/2 the people that are complaining are Xbox 360 Premium owners that just can't stand not having the best, regardless if they actually need the extras.angelflyThats what I'm thinking. I don't own a 360 and the Elite convinced me to buy one.Thats preey much me, but why should i have to settle for having the second best version of a console when i have HDMI and a cracking HDTV just waiting to be utilised, it really does annoy.

You dont have to settle for second best, just go right out and buy the Elite when it comes out.Â
This reminds me of when MS released the Halo version of the Xbox.
We didn't go running mad for it because it had all the same features as our normal Xbox
The Elite has a 120 GB Hard-drive and HDMI Port which should have been there.
DANG

Agreed....I'm psyched for the elite. I don't mind putting out the extra dollars for something I really want. Big hard drive, HDMI output, and a sweet black controller is so worth an extra $100+ (including the slight loss I will take for selling my current 360). It's not bad at all.

And do what exactly with my current 360, because i surely wont get the £200 they cost back, I dont need 2 360's and i sure as heck aint being ripped on uber expensive versions of HDD's.EVERYONE please call microsoft and ask them about an option for upgrading to the elite for current 360 owners. if we all call, then they will pretty much be forced to make a deal
I GOT MY 360 BACK IN NOV. 06 NOW THE ELITE IS COMING OUT AND I FEEL KINDA GYPPED CUZ I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT....NOW I HAVE TO DECIDE IF I WANT THE NEW VERSION JUST FOR A LARGER HARDRIVE AND 1080P HDMI DISPLAY OR TO STICK WITH THE ONE I ALREADY HAVE AND SAY F*** IT
MY ONLY QUESTION IS IF I DO GET THE ELITE HOW THE HECK AM I GOING TO TRANSFER THE CONTENT I HAVE NOW TO THE NEW HARD DRIVE???Â
Yeah, I'm afraid of that too. I can't get mine until around Mother's Day (May 13th) but I don't want to miss my chance because there are crazy people dying to get it just because it's black.Im getting the Elite system when it comes out, but what i hate is the crazy alomost imposible to get launches. So will this be like that? Will i have to camp in front of stores for days just to get a 360 elite and losing my chances of getting one to ppl who just want to sell it on ebay? Or can i just go in the next morning and get one?

Quick question. I heard that this is unavailable for pre-order, so how many are being shipped and will I be likely to get one on a sunday afternoon when it is launched? Thanks.Binky_BarnesIt is not available for preorder at EB/Gamestop. I went to all 4 of thier stores today in my area and they all told me the same thing that they are not allowed to take reserves for it because it is extremely limited in terms of shipping numbers. Combined the 4 stores I went to are getting 11 units. 2 stores are getting 2 units a piece, 1 is getting 3 and 1 is getting 4 for the April 29th launch. A friend of mine is a manager at Best Buy, and told me that some Best Buys may get enough units to take reserves on them, but I cannot confirm this and I have no idea what other stores or areas are going to be like, but expect it to be a bastard to get one. I wouldn't worry too much though, if you want to go after one, great, but if you fail, just remember that within a few more months, the internal redesign will be coming for the Elite and all 360s, the 65nm chip, and then the Elite quantiies will be up and you can tell all those people who beat you on launch day to shove it up thier a** because you have a better system.
Its not limited Edition its going to sell in stores for a long time.Arley26
I didnt say it was, just passing on what a friend told me who works there.Â

Yeah ! This is Microsoft's new SKU for the higher paying consumer. But one question for you Arley, I agree with what you say. I heard that the Elite will eventually become white. It just be a white 120gb, HDMI equipted 360 or will black be the Elite forever.Â

The black is limited edition. After a while, they'll put the same hardware (120GB HD, HDMI port) back into the white chassis. It is unknown if the price would come back down to $400 at that point. I don't see it happening though.I know that this has been brought up many times before, but I don't have time to sift through 350+ posts.

Having said that, I am wondering something. Does the 360 Elite come with the new chip/CPU that doesn't overheat as easily, or not? Thanks.
schaotix
No it doesn't. And don't ask why it doesn't, God alone is still trying to figure out why they would release another version of a console that breaks maybe 20-30% of the time.Â
According to the Canadian catalogue on xbox.com, the Elite isn't being released until May 4, 2007. why would that be?

You're implying that two to three MILLION Xbox 360s are broken? Isn't it more likely that stores like Walmart and Target are getting Xbox 360s returned that are broken, but not returned as such, and they're simply putting them out on the shelves? Isn't it more likely that the 200,000 or so people with a broken 360 are becoming rather vocal, whereas the majority of people with a working unit aren't? When you consider that the most internet savvy individuals are also the ones most likely to play a 360 extensively, and find the faults in a defective unit, it's easy to see how a small percentage of owners could make a lot of "noise". The defect rate IS NOT 20%[QUOTE="kcpp2b"][QUOTE="schaotix"]I know that this has been brought up many times before, but I don't have time to sift through 350+ posts.

I did a lot of research from just forums and stuff before I got my 360 in which I got a two year warranty thank god.
I think the failure rate is no less then 10% to be honest but could very well be at 20% or maybe max 30%Â
