itll also signal the impending release of the next generation. Prices usually fall before the next console is released. I have always had a personal prediction that the next xbox would be fall 2010. And I am more then certain MS will still do that. Hey, its a 5 year cycle (industry average), and they will keep selling 360 for as long as the market will allow. Pretty lethal business plan.
MS should corner the core industry (like now) Nintendo should corner the casual industry (like now) Sony shoudl back off. They had their spotlight, now its time to move along. 2 is a party, three is a crowd.
I know most people on the 360 go online and they're paying every year, if you pay for 5 years, eventually won't you have paid more or less the same price as a PS3?

Thats wrong because LIVE comes with added value that PSN just cant compare with. You pay more then what you would with a PS3, but so what? You probably had more fun doing so. Gamers spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on video games. $50 a year is pocket change. And for that you get a service better then PSN..........and thats priceless :P

What's really sad for MS though is that even with their ~7 million lead, and with the PS3 getting "inferior" ports and all, new multiplat games seem to be selling near 50/50 split between the consoles. street fighter is a fighter................ppl dont like the 360 d pad. I seriously doubt it, even if Sony cuts Ps3 price it's still going to be more expensive than 360.

ya but MS wants that price gap so Europeans keep buying 360s. NA the 360 can hold its own, but MS NEEDS that price gap for Europe cause they are more loyal to Sony consoles historically. They need a strong incentive to buy 360, and thats where the price gap comes in.

actually, barely. The music, phones, movies, electronic industries all have stiff competition. Sony is lucky to have small profits in these divisions. Sony has 0, I repeat 0, monopoly markets. MS is still cornering the OS market and Nintendo has one on the console/handheld industry.
Moment they stepped onto the scene Sony was done for. Look at the desperate attempt to outshine them with the PS3, look at all the lies they told. Terrified and they'll be done for in the next couple of gens. Good riddence.

Yup thats why when xbox came out it killed the PS2...oh wait. Every company has a slip up hell nintendo had one with cube and I think even the 64.
