@PitatheGreat I play games for story mostly. The story thus far in the Halo franchise has been good and competent but not at all amazing. Unless perhaps your talking about the books, which I have not read so I don't know. I remember Halo was the first game I got for xbox on the day it came out and I remember thinking I had PS2 games that I personally felt were better in every way. In other words although I enjoyed it, I was not impressed. This looks to be the first Halo with a truly interesting story and thus I'm interested in it. This also means they didn't go the COD approach. I've never felt that Bungie was very imaginative with the gameplay in Halo. I'm glad Bungie made Halo, I'm also glad they handed it off to someone else.

@widehead Another point is you actually brought up dark/demons souls on a board about skyrim a very different kind of game all together. Dark/demons souls are games for people who like to hack and slash away monsters with no interesting story. Talk about boring. I don't care how good the gameplay or graphics are if there isn't an interesting story pulling me forward it's a yawn fest.

@Steba93 @lowkey254 You state the obvious very well but the point is any game this big with this much free choice is going to have bugs, more bugs than other games of lesser size and scope. It's actually a valid idea to expect a game of this magnitude to have a decent number of bugs at and well after release, if you don't agree it's because you have no idea just how bug ridden games are before they release. If huge titles like this were honestly expected to release with no bugs they would never come out at all. They would loose funding before they were ever finished and then we wouldn't have one of the greatest games of the year.

@IamNick2k11 With that logic why do you need video games at all? It's nice to have new areas to explore and new toys to play with in an already amazing world.

@kuda001 @gamekingpin Its cheaper than the expansion for oblivion was. I'd pay 1600 ms points just to get mounted combat, crossbows, being a vampire lord and a werewolf skill tree in the regular game. But you get an entire new story with it with 12 or more hours of content. It's more than worth 1600 ms points.

And let me make this point again since no one seems to understand this. What would you rather have developers do? Make games with really dumbed down combat so they can reach the widest audience. Or a game with great and challenging combat but the option to skip it if it's to hard for some people? Having more options is never a bad thing and if anything it's only going to help the games coming out in the future. But hey you know go ahead make a big fuss about this and maybe dev's will drop the option of skipping combat and just dumb it down for everyone. For me story is just as important as gameplay, they are equal. A game can look amazing and have great gameplay, but if there isn't a great or at least interesting story to back that up I'm not gonna touch it.

Wow. I see a lot of people posting and it's like they don't know how to read, lots of thick skulls out there. Slimjim2011 said "who would buy a game that can't be played like a game?" yeah because the idea is that all the combat in the game you have to skip, NOT! It's an option an OPTION! Get it? My girl friend thinks a lot of the games I play are really cool, but she's not so great at them. So this option of being able to skip some of the combat when she's getting frustrated would be fantastic. That way we can both have experienced this awesome game. But ya I guess your right artdecoverynice that's just a stupid idea. Dang what a bunch of jerks you guys are. I hope bioware doesn't listen to any of you, none of you deserve to be listened to.

This is the best way for developers to bring games to a wider audience. If they give you three ways to play through a game or if they give you a button to press to skip the combat it means that the game can still be played through in the way they originally meant for it to be played. Rather than just making the combat easier period, to try to get the game into a wider audiences hands. You gamers who are all angry and up in arms about this, your shooting yourselves in the foot. At least with options you can still play the game in hard mode and get the experience you want. If the developer doesn't go with this approach there just going to dumb down the combat enough so that everyone can play it so they can make more money. By adding these OPTIONS everybody gets what they want
