I'm going to ask you to imagine a game where there is an option to press a button and skip the combat. I know this will be hard for some of you, but come on try to follow me here it's simple logic. If there is a button to press to skip the combat and you don't want to skip the combat because you feel that would, dumb the game down, then what do you do? You don't press that button. So if your brain is working and your still following me here you might be able to grasp the notion that this is just another OPTION. You don't have to press that button, it's up to you whether or not the game gets dumbed down. You see options are good.

This is about having options when playing a video game not dumbing them down. Having more options is always a good thing. It seems to me that Heplers concept is already being used in Mass Effect 3 in a way. Now you have three different ways to play the game, three different options and that is fantastic. I can play through the game in roleplaying mode and have everything I want. The combat and the story and all that goes with it. However now my girlfriend who isn't as good at games can also play through the game and experience the story because there is a mode that is not so focused on the combat. Not much different from having a button that skips the combat. This is great because now that me and my girlfriend can play through the game we can experience it together and talk about it. And hey they even threw in a mode for the meat heads out there who just want to shoot things and don't care about story. You see it's all about having options, options are good.

Wow. After reading a lot of posts on here all I can say is a lot of you posters need to learn to speak for yourselves because your certainly not speaking for me. I started playing video games because I love stories. Gameplay is important, very important but if a game doesn't have a good story for me there is no reason to play it. That's why I don't like sports games. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, and the Witcher are some of my favorite games. They all have great gameplay but more importantly fantastic stories. I'm a voice actor and a writer and some day I hope to do both in the video industry. I would also state that the very best video game experience I've ever had was playing The Witcher after having read the novels. It made the game mean so much more, it was an awesome experience. It's really sad for all the people out there who will never understand or experience that.

Great first trailer. Love the vibe they have going on and damn talk about ultra realism. Some of those shots looked really killer. It will be very interesting to see what new elements they bring to this GTA and what concepts from other games in the franchise get thrown into the mold. I would love to see the drug trafficking mini game from china town wars and the ability to shake the cops by crashing there cars. It would also be nice to have some light rpg elements like in the original San-Andreas. Context sensitive mini games like in china town wars would be sweet as well. Searching dumpsters, planting car bombs, picking locks, sabotage and the like. Anyway it's Rockstar I know it will be a AAA tier 1 title and day one purchase for me.

I love everything Noire and I love Detective stories. When I first heard about this game I was so excited and then after what seemed like a year or two of no news I thought it was canceled. I'm so glad it's still coming out and I'm glad it's turned into such a huge well known and anticipated game. It's already garnered much praise, I have no doubt that this game will be amazing and one of my favorite games right up there with RDR, Mass Effect, AC, and Bioshock.

This is a great article and I can certainly see both sides of the argument. Having human like AI would certainly be interesting but not necessarily fun. I can't wait to see what they come out with in the future. It's a great and exciting time to be a gamer!

If this is better for the biz than I'm all for it, however I'll never forget how much fun I had at last years E3. It was like a crazy indoor theme park for gamers. I think it's hard to let the idea of the old E3 go because it was something special no doubt, but that doesn't mean that it didn't need to change.

If what you say KillingRemmie is true that would be nice. Oh and I think you pretty much nailed it prince. But, I say it again I just hope the single player campaign is good.

It seems like everyone who's defending the game (not that I'm bashing it) is saying "hey but it looks better than Halo 2. Yeah it does, no doubt, but I don't care how much better it looks than Halo 2. I care about how it looks compared to other next gen games and what I'm saying is, it falls a bit short. It doesn't look bad, but I'm not really all that impressed either. As for the game play it's as good as ever, but that doesn't matter to me because I prefer more tactical shooters. I've always played Halo for the single player campaign so I hope the graphics get beefed up and the story better be darn good.
