[QUOTE="3-Legged_Man"][QUOTE="-Sun_Tzu-"] I didn't mean you were trying to have an argument in the sense that you made this title with the intent to aimlessly argue with people. I mean you have a weak argument in the sense that you cannot make a strong argument with the evidence you presented.-Sun_Tzu-What is this? Court? You made the claim that homosexuals do not warrant the need to demonstrate their pride for being gay did you not? Now obviously you made this thread with the intention of persuading other people. I'm just saying that with the evidence you've presented you make a poor argument. And no, it's not court. If anything it's an English class. Made the claim? Does not warrant? Evidence I presented? Like I said, is this court? Why are you acting like this is such serious business that needs to be handled so sternly? This is a freakin gaming message board for cryin out loud.

Yes, cause us straight people have been oppressed for so long.muffincakes87Not yet. But haven't you noticed we have to "be careful" about what we say these days so as not to offend the gays. It's getting stupid. I'm starting to feel like I'm being censored. Like I can't call someone a sissy or and pansy or a f**, ina joking way, you know when you're just clowning around with your friends. Now if you say the word f**, everyone looks at you like some sort of homophobic hate-monger, when we only mean it like the dude was being a whiner or something. They're taking our slang away from us, and the worst part is, when we use it, we're not even directing it at them! Who are they to cross into our lives and tell us what words we can and can't use anymore? I can't call my buddy sitting next to me a "f**" because some gay guy might hear it and cry?
[QUOTE="3-Legged_Man"][QUOTE="-Sun_Tzu-"] So your data that is 100% unscientific is credible evidence to support the claim that there is a significant number of closeted gays?-Sun_Tzu-Why are you trying to argue scientifically? Just open your eyes, and you will see what I'm saying. Experience shall come to you, if you are patiently open to it. Gay guys come out of the closet all the time. I hear it every now and then. "So and so came out of the closet, did you hear?" Sometimes it's someone you know in private, sometimes i'ts a celebrity. But there's always a big deal made out of it, and I just think, "Why? Who cares ift his person is gay or not? Why is it such a big deal? No one makes a big deal out of anyone being straight." So since it keeps happening, it's safe to assume that there are still many closeted gays, otherwise they'd all be out by now. But you'll see, in a few weeks time, maybe another celebrity will come out of the closet. Maybe Dick Cheney. He seems gay to me. If casual observations are all you have to support your claim then you have a weak argument. Who said I was trying to have an argument?
Im starting to think you do have a problem with the gay community after all...or this is just some huge flame bait to get a 100 + thread....mexicangordoI don't have a problem with gays. I have a problem with anyone who thinks their little group deserves special attention for the way they were born. There's nothing to be proud of, it's just the way they are. I think it's stupid that there's a black history month too. Why don't we just lump the blacks in with everyone else, like we should, and study everyone's history, all the time? In a way, I think all these special events for minorities is actually keeping segregation alive. Why not just treat everyone as human, and human only?
probably 80% of people are straightPinkyimpProbably 80% of people say they are straight. A lot aren't being honest.
[QUOTE="3-Legged_Man"][QUOTE="-Sun_Tzu-"] And how do you know they're in the closest?-Sun_Tzu-Not only do I know some men like this personally, but isn't it funny how there seems to be more and more gays every year? It might be closer to being even with heterosexuality than we think. Only the homosexuals will reveal this, over time. There's really no way to statistically corner an accurate representation of the distance between hetero and homosexuality, since many gay people will lie about their orientaion out of shame. The whole idea of gay pride is to have pride in being gay TO be proud of your sexuality whether it be LGB or T. Its the only day the gay community has to really show the world that they are here and are proud of their sexuality.
I think its a fantastic even't, more power to them.
The main point is that there is nothing so special about being gay that there needs to be such a spectacle made out of it. Why can't they just show that they're not ashamed of their sexuality all the time? What are you talking about? Your not making sense, the LGBT community is the minority in this country. There isnt anything special about being gay its just a movement of the community to show its pride in themselves.... I don't understand whats so hard to get. No, they don't do it for themselves, otherwise they would keep it to themselves. It's always a big uproar in public. They're trying to insist that they deserve a special day or weekend, set aside for them, that everyone else needs to sit down quietly for.[QUOTE="3-Legged_Man"][QUOTE="UnrighteousFury"]Because the number of straight people is fantastically larger than the number of gay people. -Sun_Tzu-That's debatable. Many gays are in the closet still. And how do you know they're in the closest?
