There's such a thing as social grace. Yes, the number of days is arbitrary and variable, but a civilized society should honor it.
Obviously the NRA is in the hot seat (as they always are during these kind of events). They could at least put a hold on this app until the legislative activity slows down.
What bothers the hell out of me is the the NRA came out swinging, saying it wasn't the guns that caused this, it was the violent video games (among other media), and then turn around and released an interactive app involving shooting targets that are roughly shaped like people with bullseyes on the head and chest. True, the app has some educational content, but in the end, it's a game (real life sounds, time events, etc...). Being a crack shot in the app will not make you a great target shooter in real life; the very definition of a video game.
The best thing about releasing next gen hardware at the end of 2013 is that it will, hopefully, drive down the price of current gen games. I'm not ready to jump to next gen yet.
