@virtuasega: sounds more like typical internet logic.

own taste and opinion alone =/= fault of a game

maybe the controlls are broken, but the rest sounds like japanese horror and fatal frame in general. It is like tge reviews to JRPGs with critique like "i got eight people on the map, but just the first four are fighting. What are the others doing in the meantime?"

Sooo... I remember the old games as slow paced, with typical japanese stiffness without much emotions and a rather interesting, yet aggrieved battlesystem if there were more than one enemies, because everything was so slow... Geez, everything sounds like Fatal Frame. So far that's good. We will see about the gyroscope issues.

I remember the old games kinda slow and fighting more than one ghost was a pain back than as well. Not to mention typical Japanese characters... Plain ones I mean without a lot of emotions. So the hanger did not change at all...? Doesn't seem so bad at all.

@Xristophoros: >>for me, it is a way to say that a game did not live up to its promise or even the previous entries of the series.<<

And that's just it. We don't have to argue about that because everyone got his or her own opinion, but it is wrong to criticise something for the sake of any own opinion. Criticism is not just saying how disappointed or happy you are due to your own taste, expectations, etc. And that is something a lot of people forget, because everyone is a critic and a official reviewer these days. 5 stars here, 1 star there, thumbs up and down... Nothing wrong with saying your POV, but always remember it is a POV. And as a side note I would like to add most of the usual "the old games were better" is pure nostalgia. That's another thing, but I am not going much more into this. I do accept your view, I always did, but I hope you think a bit about your view as well, because all you mention is just on a personal level.

BTW: Nope, I am no outliner there. I find a lot of reviews (official and player reviews) far from the "hall of shame" statement for both games - Yoshi AND Kirby.

@Xristophoros:No need to get kinda personal here ("...you will eat up anything they put out regardless of the quality.").

I hope you do realise we are talking about taste. You just cannot judge anything on your taste alone - that's the biggest problem on the internet. It is fine if you don't like it as much as I or others, but you just cannot blame - in this case a game - for your own expectations. That got nothing to do with quality as well! Kirby, Yoshi and HHD are pretty high quality products and a lot of reviews show that too.

You can easily compare it with McD VS BK. Some like McD more, other BK. That's fine, but it's no argument and no ctitique to say "WHOPPER tastes better than Big Mac", or when you order either of those, while expecting the other one.

As for me: I was expecting something like Yoshis Story (if I was expecting anything at all), but I got a true successor to Yoshis Island at last - some flaws aside. And I was expecting a HD Kirby Canvas Curse and just got that including a lovely art direction and phenomenal BGM. Now, who's right here? I am at least not saying you are the one with wrong expectations.

@Xristophoros: Did you even play Yoshi or Kirby?

Yoshi is the best sequel to Yoshis Island - maybe a bit short and the boss recycling sure sucks, but it's great. And how about Kirby? Would be better with direct controls, yeah, but it works fine and it's a fantastic production. The soundtrack is a blast, the look, ... Just saying...

It's okay if you don't like it, but you just cannot say it sucks just because of your own taste.

Still looking foreward to this one. I like the world so far and even the characters seem better than in FFXIII. Let's hope the system is good and it's story!

I always said they should do a "Nintnedo Racer", feat. all of the Nintendo-Characters.
