However, the biggest problem is this: Most people call this game great for nostalgia - nothing more, nothing less. Yeah, there was the materia system and a lot to do and YES it was groundbreaking back than. On the other side it did not age very well - and I am talking about the game system, not the look and sound. IMO some older RPGs did age much better than FF7. Oh well, everyone got his, or HER own point of view, right?
As for Squares decision: I kinda like it. They did a lot of re-releasing and porting the past years, but tyring to make a new game, rather the giving the angry mob what it wants, seems to be the only reasonable way. Trying to get to the old glory just can be better than bringing the old stuff over and over again. Plus: you may value your old games a bit more if they aren't re-released/remaked all the time.
And if I may ask this: What would a remake be good for anyways? Mostly just better graphics and better sound... At least if they don't touch the rest.
@Ashbfc it's not that easy `cause in europe you have the sales tax IN the actual price. If you take that tax from the uk price a figure is about 14,5 USD and that doesn't sound as high as almost 18 USD.
