A masterpiece can be as well as its media allows, oral tradition from the past lost lot of information, written tales are more accurate, well, consoles are the equivalent of oral tradition in the digital era: good intention, bad media.

I have right now Dark Souls, installed and full of mods, which I couldn't play because of playing (and modding, because I'm modder too), Fallout 3 and 4, understood, like a professional Chess player will still playing the Chess all the time, I'm still playing the games that I like, because I can do it with mods and in the best technology, PC after PC, my good games still installed since the Diablo 2 era.
So, even having the possibility to play, for instance, TLOU, in an inferior platform, without mods, and if today I stop playing/modding my favorite game (Fallout), I would still needing to chose if I will, finally, be able to play Dark Souls, completely modded on my PC, or Horizon in an inferior device without possibility to mod and not knowing if I will be able to still playing it in my next console in the future, which one you bet I will chose?
To put it even more simpler, while you was playing Zelda for 1 time and never again, I was playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3, with mods, and "future compatibility" (because still installed in my last PC, better and improved).
All is a mater of choice, I couldn't enjoy (deeply) Baldur's Gate (my first modding experience), if I would have consoles, dividing my gaming time, even being a child (having plenty of free time), I chose a narrow selection of the best PC games, having others that I barely could "start" and never continue, jewels as No One Lives Forever, all Tomb Raiders, etc, delayed because of Drakan and Heavy Metal FAKK2, understand?

I have jewel of games like Dark Souls, Saint's Row, Tyranny, Ark Survival, Conan Exiles, etc, all of them installed, and modded, and I don't have physical time to play (because I'm playing another games like Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, etc). Why should I chose to play in an inferior platform (in which I feel uncomfortable), without mods, and for limited time? So, even having all consoles, you will end up choosing the best.
@wolfpup7: backwards compatibility, cheaper, all genres, all peripherals, the best online, mods, and forever. Real gamers loves their games enough to play them at their best, the rest are just casuals, in fact, a console is what a casual gamer wants, right?
@sealionact: any tower you would build for gaming today is silent, now, if we return to the past century... and 'tower' is if you want, there are plenty of shapes to chose.
'Optimized' games means 'cut' games, optimization is not magic, they remove polygons, environment, filteres, etc.
¿Crashes? I don't remember crashes since Windows 98 xD, where are you coming from? while, consoles has lot of crashes too, because, you know, they are more complex each generation, forget the simple idea of insert a CD and play, today you need to install, updates take the hell of time because console servers are garbage, and you can't do anything meanwhile (while in PC updates are automatic), that is the 'online service' you are paying, while PC has the best online for free...
Mods? are you serious? mods in 2 single games, controlled by Bethesda, removing copyright and adult content, and also impossible to load more than 1gb in PS and 5gb on XOne, no 3rd Party tools to run the best mods. You have the wastes from PC modding, constantly begging on Nexusmods to port mods that are impossible, that is not modding, is a "demo" of how amazing mods are, and we are having a wave of new PC gamers tired of suffer on their consoles, wanting the real modding experience.
Seriously you want to compare a console with the superior platform ever?
@wolfpup7: real gamers still playing the game from our childhood with mods. If you can't still playing old games, you can't be real gamers, just casuals that today play this, and tomorrow that...
