[QUOTE="FunkyHeadHunter"]I find if funny that PC fanboys bring this up all the time. It really gets annoying. Can Crysis run on a console? Im sure if done correctly it could be. BUT...what if I make this question......Can PC's run Crysis?...MOST NO...I find it really a waste of time for developers to make a game that 95% of the PC population cant run on its highest settings...lol...Kind of a waste of a game if you ask me. Why make a game most people cant run on the platform its made for?.....lol...But yea...Lets worry if it can run on consoles........yyyyeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh....Technoweirdo

Of course, you haven't factored in the possibility that maybe, even when Crytek managed to get CryENGINE 2 to look so beautiful and run at 60 frames per second, they wanted to add even more effects and push even further to the point that it could only run at the highest settings on computers not available in the market as of this time. This video proves that it was meant for more than just games, thus it had to be pushed.

You also forgot that you don't need to run a game at it's highest settings to enjoy it fully.

Also what console runs it's games at the highest possible settings? I have yet to see a console game at 8xAA (let's not mention 16X), second consoles struggle to keep games in HD resolution. FunkyHeadHunter - Don't talk what you know nothing about.

[QUOTE="br0kenrabbit"][QUOTE="NOODLES_07"]i hate being on the pc for more than lets say 2 hours , then i go through and replax on the sofa and play console gamesbr0kenrabbit

I play PC games from my sofa. I don't even have to get off my ass to switch games.

i think he means sit back and play with a controller in hand. unless you play RTSs and CS:S with a gamepad...if so shame on you.

I use a controller: I do have a gamepad for old school games. When I use M/KB on the couch I have a hospital table that I use. I can kick back and throw my feet up on the floor table and be perfectly comfy.

Holy ****! That's a controller.

*Looks at Saitek X52* Out the window you go.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Crysis is defined by its huge level designs, ambient gameplay, and truly dynamic worlds; all things console games won't have.Nick-N4ck

Do you sit up all night thinking this stuff up? it's laughable... There will be plenty of games this generation on consoles that have huge level designs, dynamic worlds ect. Crysis is a 2008 game, not a 2018 game, it will be matched this gen on consoles.

No it will not.

For huge open levels at High details you need RAM. A lot.

1) Video RAM too load textures, shaders, polygons, etc... everthing you see on-screen;

2) System RAM to keep track of all the objects, collisions, etc.

Now that we clead that out here's how optimisong works: you cut down on what the player will not see in up close or will not notice so you don't waste memory. You cannot magically make more RAM out of a lot less.

falcon 4.0. the manual that game was so thick you could beat a whale to death with it

doobie1975

I would also say Sonalysts Dangerous Waters.

You could run a sub with only the engine crew after you play that game. The rest of the stations you manage yourself.

These are all PCs.

And it is systems, not consoles. Right?

You're being a fanboy because you're blindly bashing the PC and MGS with hardly any evidence to back it up. Ok, I hate gaming on a PC, but I know for a fact that it's not as much money as you think to afford a decent gaming PC (as explained in numerous threads). MGS is a well loved series because of it's great story, unique design, and expansiveness (just because you didn't enjoy it doesn't mean its fans didn't). I can understand if you like neither the PC or PS3, but why bash them? Just enjoy gaming on your 360 and don't let other fanboys convince you what system is the best. Let's end on that note.

Flexmaster_365

Im not the only one that didnt like MGS, Obviously GS didnt either as it was a floppity flip flop.

Why bash them?, well I thought thats what we do in "System Wars"

If we're taking into account JUST GS scores(which are pathetic, btw).

MGS1- 8.5,MGS2 - 9.6 and MGS 3 got a 8.7 I think. Since when is an average of 8.9 a flop?

Keep in mind these are JUST GS SCORES!

Anything under AAA is a flop.

So Mass Effect - 8.5

GRAW 2 (X360) - 8.7

PGR3 - 8.8

PGR4 - 8.5 are flops. That's news for me.

[QUOTE="True_Gamer_"]

Now what I mean is that if we consider 360/ps3/wii being THIS gen...has the PC already jumped a gen and is already in the ps4/xbox720 (or whatever M$ calls it to negate the ps4 numerical impact) gen? I mean is Crysis and the 2008 lineup (BF3/WH40k2/ETW) already pushing to next gen power?

I for one say hell yeah...If Crysis can already run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA8waCvKv48 at 1200p at photorealistic settings nuff said....

PS3nut

Even though i'll get flamed for this , i still believe once the full power of the PS3 is tapped by developers it can run Crysis, no problem.

Crysis level graphics - yes. Crysis - no.

Much smaller enviroments and less interaction to keep shader/texture/polygon count down to the PS3s RAM.

Oh and "tapping power" means optimising. Optimising graphics = cutting down on some details that are hard to observe (ex. you don't need the character's ear to be high-poly because very few if any will notice)

some PC hardware is already in the "next gen", but you have to look at the average gaming PC. As for games, only Crysis so far is really superior to anything that will be done on this gen consoles.Tykain

So that would mean because more people own PS2/Xbox/GC then PS3/Xbox360 aren't next-gen. Right?

[QUOTE="Flexmaster_365"]

Theres just too many things to worry about and the costs are still way to high. What if a game dosent run or something breaks or I get some kind of error or virus, etc. Theres too many things and everytime I get a problem who do I call, and they will most likely charge me plus it will take time to fix. IMO PC's aren't any gen at all they aren't even Gaming machines its just one of the many things they can do and not well.

HuusAsking

Use the right browser (IOW, avoid IE) and the odds of getting exploited are vanishingly small. Good common sense should help prevent being trojaned or hit with a virus, and a nice free AV like AVG should help cover your rear. Most games will work out of the box, and there are avenues such as Xfire and Steam (both free) that can streamline updating and repairs for you. As for support, try support forums. Most popular games have thriving user support communities who can provide firsthand accounts on how to solve your problem. Since you board here, you're already well-equipped to deal with those kinds of forums. That's how I learned the newer Orange Box games can get temperamental on GeForce 8's.

What do viruses and spyware have to do with gaming? Those you get from browsing. You can get those even if you're not on a gaming PC.
