A man has been seriously injured after being attacked and trampled by a cow.
He had been walking his dog near Baslow Edge in the Derbyshire Peak District when he was charged at, suffering broken ribs and severe bruising.
Mountain Rescue teams had to carry the 65-year-old man for a kilometre to a waiting ambulance.
The county air ambulance had been called to the scene but it was decided a journey in an ambulance would be more comfortable for the casualty.
Trevor Lawton, mountain rescue team leader, said: "We treated him for his chest injuries and it was decided because of the amount of pain he was in, the best evacuation would be for us to carry him to the road ambulance.
"We were able to carry him sitting up which was much more comfortable for him than lying him down to put him in the aircraft."
